Chapter 1175 Food Poisoning, Falling for a Diversionary Tactic?

"Has no one contacted Zhang Xinlei?"

Hearing Du Wanzhe leave in a hurry, Sun Yue felt that things were not so simple, and looked in the direction of the interrogation room to ask.

"Don't worry, the deputy section chief hasn't been gone for long. There are only the people here. Nobody else has even entered this room."

Seeing Sun Yue's wary expression, someone smiled and said to Lu Fan.

"Besides Lao Du, shouldn't there be four police officers on duty? Why are there only three of you?"

A detective's intuition told him something was off, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. He glanced around the office area and saw only three officers. He then asked them, puzzled.

"Oh, that guy went to deliver food to the prisoners."

"That's not right! Seven or eight minutes have passed, they should have been back by now."

Because the interrogation room was at the very back, there was a blind spot in their view, and at that moment everyone sensed that something was wrong.

"Walk!"

After listening for seven or eight minutes without any response, Sun Yue quickly ran towards the interrogation room.

What happened?

Sun Yue, who had run over, saw the police officer who had delivered the food collapse on the ground and begin to convulse, and quickly asked him what was wrong.

"Uh, food, food, pfft!"

The person who delivered the food could no longer speak; he could only manage to squeeze out the word "food" from his mouth before spitting out a mouthful of blood and falling unconscious.

"Go call an ambulance right away, and keep an eye on him!"

Upon hearing the word "food," Sun Yue quickly addressed the others and then rushed into the interrogation room.

"Section Chief Sun, what are you trying to do?"

Zhang Xinlei, who was opening the food container, saw Sun Yue rush in and asked her in confusion.

"This food is inedible; it may have been poisoned."

Sun Yue quickly picked up the food in front of Zhang Xinlei, examined it carefully, and said...

"Poisoning me? Someone poisoned me!"

Upon hearing that the food was poisoned, Zhang Xinlei became uneasy, as if she knew something, and her expression turned tense.

"Do you want to live? You should know who killed you?"

Sun Yue put the food aside and looked at Zhang Xinlei, who was looking down with fear on her face, and asked.

"I think I should beg Section Chief Sun to save me. They want to eliminate me completely. They must know that I have confessed. Now only you can save me."

Hearing Sun Yue's question, Zhang Xinlei seemed to have grasped a lifeline and excitedly said to Sun Yue.

"Okay, you just need to do as I say, and I guarantee you'll be fine. You just need to cooperate like this... Do you understand?"

Hearing that Zhang Xinlei wanted to live made things easier. He walked up to Zhang Xinlei and whispered his plan in her ear.

"Okay, I'll cooperate with you."

After listening to Sun Yue's words, Zhang Xinlei felt that this was the only way, so she could only nod in agreement.

"Section Chief, how is the prisoner?"

After loading the poisoned police officer into the ambulance, they rushed to the interrogation room to check on the prisoner's condition. Just as they were about to enter, they saw Sun Yue standing at the door and asked her a question.

"He's still breathing; get him to the hospital immediately for emergency treatment."

Sun Yue walked to the door and called for the stretcher to come over.

“All of you get out of here. You stay here and guard the house. If anyone asks what happened, say that the food was poisoned and one of our officers and a prisoner were poisoned. The woman’s breathing became weak on the spot and she was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.”

Sun Yue thought about it and realized that someone in the police station wanted to kill Zhang Xinlei. Since they had already taken action, they would definitely come to see how things were going.

He then instructed one officer to stay behind while he and the others followed the ambulance to the hospital.

"Du Wanzhe, where are you now?"

Sun Yue remembered what the police officer had said about Du Wanzhe going to the hospital. Now she realized that it was very likely a diversionary tactic, so she quickly dialed Du Wanzhe's number and asked him questions on the other end of the line.

"What's wrong? I'm at Renhe Hospital right now."

Hearing Sun Yue's anxious voice on the other end of the phone, Du Wanzhe asked her in confusion, and then told Sun Yue about his situation at the hospital.

Is anything wrong with your family?

Sun Yue's intuition was correct; someone was indeed targeting them and trying to poison Zhang Xinlei.

Fortunately, she arrived in time, otherwise the other party would have succeeded. On the way to the hospital, Sun Yue remembered that Du Wanzhe had left the police station because someone in his family was hospitalized. She called Du Wanzhe with some concern to ask.

"I don't know which bastard played me. My family is all at home and doing well."

Upon hearing this, Du Wanzhe became even more furious and angrily retorted to Sun Yue.

"Okay, just wait for me at the hospital entrance, I'll be there soon."

After listening to Du Wanzhe's words, Sun Yue breathed a sigh of relief knowing that the other party was alright. She then looked at Renhe Hospital on the navigation and said to Du Wanzhe, who was still in the hospital.

"good."

Du Wanzhe didn't know what had happened, but Sun Yue must have had his reasons for telling him to wait.

"Quickly! Get him to the emergency room!"

Three or four minutes later, two ambulances arrived at the hospital entrance. Du Wanzhe glanced at them but didn't pay much attention. When he saw the stretchers being carried in, he noticed that the person lying on one stretcher was a police officer from the interrogation department, and Zhang Xinlei was on another stretcher.

"This is?"

Just as Du Wanzhe was about to stop the doctor to ask about the situation, a hand grabbed him.

"Section Chief, what's wrong with Xiao Wu?"
