She felt that there weren't many freelance jobs available outside of holidays.
Li Fang, however, had a different opinion.
Since everyone present was family, there was no need for formalities. Li Fang spoke frankly:
"My fourth sister-in-law arrived late and hasn't been to the factory yet, which is why she said that."
"I suggest that whatever it is, it should be produced and printed as soon as possible."
Jiang Manyue glanced at Li Fang with surprise, not at the reason why this second cousin of the Lu family would refute her.
Li Fang is just that kind of straightforward person; she never hides anything in her words or actions.
Jiang Manyue always liked her to say whatever came to mind.
What surprised her was what Li Fang said:
"Oh? Is there some rumor going on at the factory, or is something wrong?" Otherwise, why would Li Fang suggest starting production as soon as possible, opening as many factories as possible? Seeing Jiang Manyue's serious expression, Lu Fan reassured her:
"Don't worry, my third uncle has been keeping an eye on the factory all along, what could possibly happen?"
Upon hearing this, Uncle Lu nodded to Jiang Manyue and said:
"Yes, my dear niece-in-law, I've been keeping an eye on things here for you. If anything happens, I'll tell you right away."
He reassured the couple that they could relax, and then told Li Fang to quickly tell them not to breathe too loudly and scare them.
This is the advantage of employing relatives. If something really happens, the relatives will still side with you, after all, you're the one who gave them the job.
Out of consideration for relatives, the money is secondary when someone comes to help you.
Lu Fan's original intention was to help his relatives get rich together; he was worried about inequality rather than scarcity.
His family became rich while his relatives remained poor. Not to mention the gossip from the villagers back home, even his mother would feel uneasy.
How can they face the relatives who once lent a helping hand and helped their family?
There's an old saying, "When one person attains enlightenment, even his chickens and dogs ascend to heaven," which roughly conveys this idea. The saying may be crude, but the principle is sound. There's no reason why someone would shield you from the storms of life if they don't end up getting the short end of the stick. Who would trust you or do things for you in the future?
Li Fang didn't want to take a deep breath, and seeing her fourth sister-in-law's anxious and worried expression, she quickly said:
"That's right, idle people tend to cause trouble. Now that production has resumed, everyone has work to do, and all they care about is making money."
"The employees will gradually feel at ease and will no longer be anxious and think about causing trouble or trying to hold onto small immediate benefits as a precaution."
Lu Fan nodded in agreement and said to Jiang Manyue:
"You might not believe it, but you came from Jinghai City late, and before the soy sauce factory and printing plant set up their booths, we didn't need you."
