When Zhou Ruan got up, she felt completely weak.
Sure enough, not getting enough sleep makes me feel so tired, like I've been up all night.
"My little darling, let me get some sleep, I'm so tired."
After saying that, she lay back down on the blanket.
Upon hearing this, Zhizhi hurriedly ran out of the bathroom.
Toothpaste residue still lingered at the corners of his mouth:
"Sister Ruan, it's already 7:30. We'll be opening in half an hour."
"Although I can just go downstairs to clock in, I'm still afraid of being late, just in case."
That's probably the only good habit I've developed; everything else is another story.
Zhou Ruan now listens to people's words in one ear and out the other, and he is completely confused.
"At your current speed, you'll check in successfully even if you only have one minute left! I don't fall asleep until four or five in the morning, so do you think I'm tired or not?"
"Oh, Sister Ruan. What happened? Why did you stay up all night? It's not a day off today. Are you planning to skip work?"
After washing up, Zhizhi squatted innocently by the bed.
Zhou Ruan gets angry whenever this is mentioned.
If it weren't for Zhizhi's snoring yesterday, she wouldn't have stayed up until four or five in the morning to go to sleep.
"You said you snored so loudly last night! If it weren't for that, I wouldn't have been able to sleep."
As soon as she heard someone snoring, Zhizhi felt embarrassed.
"I'm sorry, Sister Ruan, I disturbed you yesterday. But to be honest, I really can't get rid of this snoring sound. I've tried everything but nothing works."
"It's okay, but I definitely won't sleep in the same bed with you next time."
Zhou Ruan responded with her eyes closed, her whole being in a dazed state.
Zhizhi chuckled awkwardly a few times, but didn't take it too seriously.
I've been busy with work these past few days and I'm really tired, so I can't help but snore at night.
She's usually fine sleeping alone.
But whenever friends come over to stay overnight, they all say they can't stand her snoring.
Even her mother said, "How can a girl snore so loudly?"
If she got married, she'd probably have to compete with her husband every day to see who snores louder.
"Alright, alright, I'll try to be more restrained next time. Sister Ruan, get up quickly. We're about to open for business. I'm going downstairs to clock in now, you get up quickly."
"I'm the earliest one ever today...!"
Then, after saying that, he excitedly ran downstairs.
After Zhizhi had been gone for a while, Zhou Ruan slowly got up, got out of bed, and prepared to wash up.
I looked up at myself in the mirror and saw that I looked utterly dejected.
She thought to herself that she had really been harmed this time.
After tidying up, Zhou Ruan went downstairs.
The first thing I did wasn't to eat breakfast, but to quickly make myself a cup of coffee.
I only managed to stay awake for a short while after drinking the coffee.
Seeing Zhou Ruan sitting there drinking coffee, Zhizhi ran over.
She brought over the sandwiches she had just made.
"Come on, try my sandwich!"
Zhizhi looked at Zhou Ruan with a smile, expecting praise.
Zhou Ruan sighed, realizing she had no appetite.
But given Zhizhi's expectant gaze, she had no choice but to respectfully comply.
Then he picked up the sandwich and started eating.
Surprisingly, it tasted pretty good.
"My cooking skills have improved a lot recently. I'm not the same clumsy person who used to burn eggs anymore."
"Sister Ruan, how can you praise someone like that! I've been practicing diligently lately, and I've finally managed to make a decent sandwich." Seeing Zhizhi acting like a master chef, she was even more puzzled.
"I really don't know how you survived before."
"Before, I could only eat fast food because I didn't know how to cook. My mom usually cooked at home. I did think about learning from her, but she thought I was too stupid, so I gave up in the end."
As Zhizhi spoke, she awkwardly scratched her head; this was definitely not a good thing for her.
"You really need to learn how to cook properly, otherwise you might starve to death and I'll never see you again."
Faced with this situation, Zhou Ruan immediately offered advice. "If this drags on any longer, we might really starve to death one day."
"Oh, and there's something else I need to tell you. Don't tell them what happened yesterday, it might cause panic. Once the investigation is complete, everything will be fine."
Hearing Zhou Ruan's instructions, Zhizhi dared not disobey.
She wasn't the type to blabber, and she wouldn't casually talk about something so thrilling.
"Sister Ruan, I absolutely won't say anything. But if anything happens, you have to tell me secretly. If things get bad, I can give you some advice."
When Zhou Ruan heard that Zhizhi wanted to give her some advice, she couldn't help but tap her head with her finger.
"You silly goose, you should worry about yourself first. I don't expect you to come up with any good ideas for me."
"By the way, I'm not sleeping with you tonight. Just randomly pick someone to stay with you."
Thinking back to yesterday's snoring, Zhou Ruan thought she never wanted to experience it again.
Seeing that Zhou Ruan had been scared away by her snoring, Zhizhi began to feign grievance.
"Sister Ruan, you're my only good friend here. If you won't stay with me, who else can I turn to?"
"Think about it, what if those men come again? They might see a young girl like me and break down the door!"
"What if they arrest me and kill me?"
Zhizhi's ramblings became increasingly outrageous, her imagination running wild.
"I'm telling you, you can rest assured about this. The police are available whenever we call, so please leave me alone. I haven't been sleeping well all day, so my mental state is definitely not up to par."
Faced with the choice between friendship and getting a good night's sleep, Zhou Ruan considered it for a moment and decided to get a good night's sleep instead.
After all, if she had to choose friendship, she would have to listen to endless snoring, which she really couldn't do!
"Sister Ruan, Sister Ruan, I'm begging you. Please stay with me for just one more day. I promise I won't snore tonight. I'll wait until you fall asleep before I go to sleep, okay?"
Zhizhi still didn't give up, clinging to Zhou Ruan like a sloth.
Zhou Ruan was at her wit's end and had no choice but to reluctantly agree.
"You have to promise me you won't snore tonight."
"Okay, okay, don't worry. I'll definitely let you sleep first! Okay, I promise you'll get a good night's sleep."
After everyone had eaten and drunk their fill, the staff gradually came to work.
Zhou Ruan, on the other hand, seemed out of sorts, glancing out the window every now and then...
