Chapter 658: Qiu's Madness
"Brother-in-law, where are you staying now? How is Jing'er?" Wan Laoer was a little worried about Qiu's condition. This crazy person has no one to take care of her. She can be abused to death, not to mention that Wang Jiawei is drunk every day. How can he take good care of Qiu?
Wang Jiawei's mind was much clearer now. He sat up straight on the bed and put on his shoes.
"Second brother, fourth brother, I rented a small yard in the slums in the south of the city. The price is cheap and I can rent it for two more years. I am afraid that my enemies will come to my house, so I have rarely gone out. Yesterday was the first time I went out. I didn't expect to meet you. I have never been so cowardly in my life. If I wasn't afraid that Jing'er would be left unattended, I would really have killed you."
Wan Lao Er and Wan Lao Si still had some good feelings towards Wang Jiawei in their hearts. They thought that this man was a kind and loyal person.
"Brother-in-law, can you take us to see Sister Jing first? You haven't been home all night, so it's hard to say how she is doing now."
Wan Laosi was a little worried about Qiu. Before he was exiled, he had seen a madman who, without being watched by his family, jumped into the river and drowned. His body was found outside the next village.
Wang Jiawei wasn't too worried.
"When I left, I tied her to the bed. I felt so miserable that I just wanted to go out and get some wine. I didn't expect you would pick her up."
"Tied to the bed? You tied her to the bed alone? Hurry up, I have a carriage, take me to your home." Wan Laoer was a little anxious.
Old Mrs. Wan’s illness has just recovered. If she knew that Qiu had done this again, she might get sick again, and Old Second Wan wouldn’t know what to do.
Wang Jiawei was pulled by the two brothers onto the carriage in the yard. Wan Laosi gave some instructions to the people in the shop and quickly got into the carriage with Wan Laoer.
Following Wang Jiawei's instructions, Wan Laoer came to a shabby and narrow alley in the south of the city. It was mid-morning, and children wearing patched clothes were running around in the alley. There was also a boy of four or five years old, wearing only a shirt and nothing on the lower body, running around in the alley with his bare butt.
When the children saw the carriage, they immediately swarmed around it, their eyes full of curiosity. The brave ones even climbed onto the carriage to see clearly what was inside.
Wan Laoer was afraid that the horse would scare the children and hurt them, so he immediately shouted and drove them away. The children scattered again with laughter, but they stood in groups of three or four against the wall, whispering to each other.
"We're here. This is the house." Wang Jiawei saw his own courtyard and quickly asked Wan Laoer to stop the carriage.
Wan Laoer took a look at the dilapidated courtyard in front of him and saw a rusty lock on the gate. The door panels of the courtyard had been repaired later. The courtyard wall was very low. You could see inside the courtyard by standing outside and tiptoeing. The wall was still made of adobe bricks, and there were many lumps of earth on it. These were the marks left by years of erosion by wind and rain.
Wan Laoer got off the carriage, and then Wang Jiawei came out of the carriage.
When the children saw Wang Jiawei come out, they bravely came forward again.
"Uncle Wang, is this your relative?"
Wang Jiawei lost his beloved son and gave all his fatherly love to the children in the alley. He would bring back some snacks for the children whenever he bought them. Although he was short of money, he still persisted.
"Yes, they are my relatives who came to see me. You guys go and have fun." Wang Jiawei patted the child's head with a face full of pampering. Before he had children, he didn't know what it felt like to be a father. Later, when he had a son, he knew what family happiness was. However, he lost his beloved son, which made him more painful than before he had children.
The children were also very well-behaved and ran away smiling.
Wang Jiawei took the key from his body, opened the door lock, and invited Wan Laoer and Wan Laosi to come in.
The yard is small and has a panoramic view. There are no extra long objects, only a stone table and four stone benches.
Wan Lao Er and Wan Lao Si took a look at the yard and heard a shout coming from the house.
Wan Laoer didn't have time to think about it, he quickly walked forward and pushed open the door.
There are three rooms in the courtyard, one is the main hall, one is the bedroom, and the other is the kitchen.
When Wan Laoer opened the door, he heard the sound coming from the bedroom.
He immediately entered the bedroom and saw Qiu tied to the bed, her hair and face disheveled, her clothes no longer showing their original color, and the room was filled with an unpleasant smell of urine.
Wang Jiawei hurried forward to check on Qiu and found that Qiu’s pants were wet and the mattress was also wet. Did she wet the bed?
"Second brother, fourth brother, I am sorry to have embarrassed you. Please go sit outside for a while while I change Jing'er's clothes."
Wan Lao Er and Wan Lao Si were also a little embarrassed. They nodded and left the bedroom.
From time to time, Qiu's low roar could be heard from inside.
Wan Lao Er and Wan Lao Si were pacing back and forth anxiously outside.
Wang Jiawei was also sweating anxiously inside. He was a grown man and had always been served by others before. He had never served others before. However, taking care of Qiu in the past one or two years had smoothed out his bad temper.
After some effort, Wang Jiawei finally untied Qiu. Looking at the red and swollen marks on Qiu's wrists, it was obvious that she had suffered a lot last night. Wang Jiawei felt a little guilty.
As soon as Qiu was freed, she immediately jumped off the bed, grabbed a broken pillow and ran out as if it were a baby.
"Jing'er..."
Wang Jiawei followed and ran out. Qiu had already run into the yard, but did not run out again. Instead, she huddled in the corner, hugging a pillow, pressing it tightly against her face. She had a happy smile on her face and hummed a little tune, obviously trying to coax a child.
When the second and fourth Wan chased out, they saw Qiu's appearance.
"Sister Jing..."
"Fourth brother, don't go forward. She is afraid of meeting strangers. Otherwise, she will go crazy again."
"That's not a solution. Have you asked a doctor to see her?" Wan Laosi also looked worried.
"I looked at it and took the medicine, but it didn't work."
Wan Laoer suddenly thought of Fubao. Maybe Fubao could cure her madness?
But if we bring him back to Shizi Village like this, won’t the old lady feel even more upset when she sees him?
After much thought, Wan Laoer finally came up with a compromise. He found an inn for the two to stay in the town and asked Fubao to take a look. If the patient could be cured, he would take the patient back to Shizi Village. If the patient could not be cured, it was Qiu's fate, so he would rent a house for the two in the town, which was better than staying in this small courtyard.
Looking at the clothes on Qiu, which looked like they were dug out from an ash nest, it seemed that Wang Jiawei also didn't know how to wash clothes.
Wan Laoer pulled Wan Laosi and Wang Jiawei aside and told them his plan, but Wan Laoer did not mention Fu Bao's treatment. At this critical juncture, time was tight and he did not have time to explain Fu Bao's medical skills to them.
Everything can only be done after the Qiu family is brought to Jinwu Town.
