Chapter Ninety: Getting Used to It

Xu Ye looked at Xu Moran with an innocent expression, "Ranran, we are customers. In this day and age where service is everything, the customer is king. You should learn from this and not let those unscrupulous merchants cheat you."

Xu Moran pursed his lips, expressing his opposition and disdain with silence.

And what about unscrupulous merchants?

Meeting Xu Ye was his bad luck; let's see how this shrewd businessman can continue to operate.

Xu Ye completely ignored Xu Moran's reaction and continued to ask the restaurant manager the question that had not been answered earlier, "You still haven't answered me, is this a proper chicken?"

"Sir...this...chicken..." Clearly, this was the first time the restaurant manager had encountered someone asking him such a question. He stammered and stuttered, still unable to answer Xu Ye's question.

Xu Moran was a little annoyed by Xu Ye's sudden unreasonable behavior.

He suggested we eat here, so even if the food is expensive, the restaurant has clearly marked its prices. It's a matter of one party being willing to pay and the other being willing to pay. It would be unreasonable to make things difficult for them at this point.

Xu Moran was frugal, but definitely not the type to take advantage of others. "Xu Ye, that's enough!"

Xu Ye completely disregarded the fact that he had already made the restaurant manager stutter and had also angered Xu Moran to the point of being unable to stand it anymore. He was still arguing, "Ranran, this chicken that costs 380 yuan, of course we have the right to know some things about its life."

Xu Moran glared at Xu Ye, "Knowing only its life story is not enough. You should also ask the restaurant to report the chicken's measurements so that we can know more clearly whether this chicken is worth 380 yuan."

Xu Moran thought that after hearing her words, Xu Ye would realize how outrageous he had been.

Unexpectedly, he not only failed to realize his mistake, but also thought about it seriously and then expressed his great agreement with Xu Moran's "suggestion". "Ranran, what you said makes a lot of sense. We have the right to know the chicken's measurements. Luckily you reminded me, otherwise I would have forgotten."

Judging from Xu Moran's already good temper, if she were the manager of this restaurant, she would also lose patience after being harassed by Xu Ye.

The chicken cost 380 yuan, and no one forced him to order it, nor did anyone pry open his mouth to stuff it in. He had already eaten it, and then he started finding fault with everything.

Xu Moran looked at Xu Ye, about to speak in an annoyed tone, when the restaurant manager standing not far away interrupted Xu Ye with lightning speed, "Sir, your request is very reasonable. As a legitimate restaurant doing business, we should indeed indicate the measurements of each chicken. Please wait a moment, and someone will come to give you an accurate answer soon."

Xu Moran noticed the word "precise" in the restaurant manager's words—the precise measurements of the chicken that had already been made into a roast chicken. Why did Xu Moran find this sentence so awkward?

She felt that the situation was no longer under her control. Sure enough, after the restaurant manager took out a walkie-talkie and said a few words, another person quickly appeared in the private room.

The man, wearing a white top hat and a white work uniform, was the head chef of this ridiculously expensive restaurant.

As if he had been instructed beforehand, when the restaurant manager asked him to describe the precise dimensions of the roast chicken in the casserole on the table, he answered without hesitation.

Based on the two decimal places he mentioned, it's almost certain that he didn't make this up on the spot.

Even if it was made up, it was something that was planned in advance.

Xu Moran tugged at Xu Ye's sleeve, leaned close to his ear, and whispered, "That's enough, we can't go any further."

If someone goes too far, they're likely to get beaten up!

After hearing her words, Xu Ye leaned towards her and said, "Ranran, just wait a little longer, it will be done soon."

Xu Moran gave him a silent snort, then picked up her teacup and drank her tea, looking like she didn't want to talk to him anymore.

“Manager,” Xu Ye looked at the restaurant manager with a half-smile, “your service is excellent, and your professional knowledge is very proficient. This has convinced me that you are a legitimate restaurant that does business properly.”

Xu Moran wiped her mouth with a tissue, hoping the restaurant manager would at least say something sarcastic or mocking to Xu Ye.

As a result, she was disappointed again. The restaurant manager, who had been harassed for so long, not only did not utter a single sarcastic remark, but instead smiled broadly and bowed deeply to Xu Ye and her, saying, "It is our restaurant's greatest honor that you and your girlfriend are satisfied. We welcome you and your girlfriend to visit us again next time."

Xu Ye helped Xu Moran put her coat on and said, "Don't worry, we'll come often. By the way, where do we collect the recharge card we won earlier?"

The restaurant manager's back was covered in cold sweat, and his voice trembled uncontrollably, "Please wait a moment, I'll bring it to you."

The restaurant manager left the private room to get the recharge card. Now that there were no outsiders in the private room, Xu Moran could finally stop giving Xu Ye face and immediately pointed out his shortcomings, "Xu Ye, it's just a meal. Whether it's expensive or cheap, we chose it ourselves. There's really no need to be so picky about it after we've finished eating."

She didn't know if Xu Ye was like this before he lost his memory, she just wanted him to change some of his flaws that were of no benefit to him while he was by her side.

He had something to say about Xu Moran's criticism. He took Xu Moran's hand, looked into her eyes and said, "Ranran, I asked so many questions on purpose just now to verify whether this store is a blacklisted store or not."

Xu Moran suddenly realized that not only she had doubts about winning the lottery, but Xu Ye also had doubts.

The two people simply have different ways of thinking, which leads them to handle problems differently.
