Chapter Seventy-Eight: Helping Each Other

Clearly, Li Shaojun didn't care about all that. For him, his thinking had always been unconventional; it was just that Young Master Pei didn't understand him well enough.

"Pei Hang!" He remained vigilant, staring wide-eyed at Pei Hang. "I'm warning you, if you dare look at me like that again, I'm really going to call for help!"

Pei Hang was speechless for a moment. There was no mirror in front of him, so he really didn't know what his eyes looked like or how he could have scared Li Shaojun into this state.

After thinking for a moment, he quickly wiped the smile off his face and instantly reverted to his usual stern look towards Li Shaojun. "Li Shaojun, whether you're free tonight or not, you have to do me a favor."

A completely commanding tone.

Strangely enough, despite the tone that would make many people uncomfortable, Li Shaojun seemed to enjoy it, and the tension on his face was replaced by relaxation. "Dr. Pei, please feel free to ask if there's anything I can help you with."

Pei Hang, "..."

Li Shaojun is truly like a candle; if you speak to him nicely, he gets terrified, but if you don't speak to him nicely, he remains calm and composed.

"It's like this..." Pei Hang began to fabricate a story without changing his expression or skipping a beat, "I have a friend of a friend who has been suspecting that he has a disease lately. I have told him many times that he is very healthy and has no problems at all, but he just won't believe me..."

“So,” Li Shaojun interrupted Pei Hang, “as friends, they don’t believe what you say. You want me to go and check on him, to let him know through my voice that he’s healthy and has no problems.”

Pei Hang nodded, "Dr. Li, you're really smart."

After verbally praising Li Shaojun, they were about to give him a physical gesture, such as a thumbs-up, as a sign of appreciation.

Before Pei Hang could give him a thumbs up, Li Shaojun quickly interrupted him, "Don't praise me like that, otherwise I'll think you're interested in me again, and I'll call for help again."

Pei Hang quickly lowered his hand before he could even raise it. When he spoke to Li Shao again, his tone was as harsh as ever, "Li Shaojun, stop beating around the bush. Are you going to help me or not?"

Li Shaojun nodded repeatedly, "Since Doctor Pei has asked, of course I'll help. What time tonight, and where?"

Pei Hang thought for a moment, "How about 8 pm tonight, in my office?"

"Alright." Li Shaojun nodded readily and walked towards the door. "Since he's Dr. Pei's friend, I really need to make some preparations. Hmm, let me think about how to diagnose him so that the results will be better."

"Li Shaojun!" Pei Hang called out to him.

Li Shaojun stopped and turned to look at Pei Hang. "Dr. Pei, is there anything else?"

Pei Hang no longer wanted to dwell on whether Li Shaojun was really missing a nerve in his brain, and said to him, "My friend's friend doesn't have a urinary problem, he just has amnesia."

After a moment of contemplation, Li Shaojun presented Pei Gongzi with a troubled expression. "But, Dr. Pei, as you know, I specialize in urology and know nothing about neurological issues."

Pei Hang had anticipated his response and calmly said, "Dr. Li, who are you? You're the head of the urology department at our hospital. Every day, countless people come to see you for treatment. You have to believe in yourself; you can definitely do it."

Li Shaojun hesitated for a moment, but ultimately couldn't resist the flattery Pei Hang had bestowed upon him. He nodded and said, "Dr. Pei, don't worry, I will do my best!"

Try to convince a person with amnesia that the doctor treating him is not a urologist, but a neurology expert.

That's right, "brick expert" is the same as "brick" in "brick head".

As soon as he finished speaking, Li, the expert, was in a hurry to return to his office. It hadn't been many hours since he moved from the urology department to the neurology department, and he needed to catch up on his studies.

Just as his hand touched the doorknob, he heard Pei Hang calling him again, "Dr. Li."

Li, the expert, turned around, about to say he was very busy, when he heard Young Master Pei ask him, "Have you been harassed by your patients a lot lately?"

A short sentence, like a seemingly insignificant pebble thrown directly into the calm lake of Li's heart, stirred up ripples.

Li, the expert, sighed and said with a touch of sadness, "Dr. Pei, you are a surgeon, so you really can't understand how bitter it is for us urologists. Every day we not only face all kinds of men's penises, but also all kinds of men's anuses. If we encounter normal ones, it's okay, but if we encounter abnormal ones, it's so disgusting that we can't eat all day."

Having said that, she seemed to remember something, patted her chest at Pei Hang, and said sadly, "Dr. Pei, don't be fooled by how thin I am now. Actually, before you met me, I was quite fat. Sigh, never mind. Since becoming a urologist, I haven't been able to eat. I guess I've finally shed my youthful glow."

Li, preoccupied with his grief, failed to notice that when he spoke of various chrysanthemums, a barely perceptible hint of embarrassment flashed across the face of Doctor Pei, who had maintained a calm demeanor throughout.

Before last night, Young Master Pei didn't dislike any kind of flower in the world, but starting last night, he started to hate a flower called chrysanthemum!

"Alright." Young Master Pei felt that if he let Li the expert continue saying this, a certain indescribable part of his body would keep contracting at a certain frequency, and would remind him again and again of the kind of torture he had suffered last night. "Dr. Li, I already know that it's not easy for you urologists. Um, if you can successfully convince my friend tonight, especially his girlfriend who came with him, that he really has nerve damage and that it has affected his memory, I'll treat you to a big meal."
