Chapter 5 Survival in the Secret Realm

A group of ugly, disgusting creatures stared greedily at the two of them, as if they were eyeing food about to be eaten, wondering where to begin.

What should we do? Are we really going to die here? Lin Qianqian was about to ask Yunze if there was any way.

Unexpectedly, Yunze whispered in her ear first, "When I throw the flower wreath, you run to the left and jump into the river. The three-eyed lizard won't go into the water."

The lizard and frog hybrid is afraid of water! That's great! But what if there are monsters in the river? She's seen crabs the size of cars before.

But he couldn't care less about that now. Yunze quickly picked up the flower wreaths on her head and his own, tore them to shreds, and threw them at the group of three-eyed lizards.

Lin Qianqian disregarded everything else, threw away the bicycle she was clutching in her right hand, and ran sharply to the left. She covered the distance of a dozen meters with the fastest speed she had ever run.

Out of the corner of their eye, they saw the group of three-eyed lizards, after dodging the scattering blue flowers, lunge at them with their gaping maws and sharp teeth.

As she carried Yunze and jumped into the river, she could still smell the blood emanating from the mouth of the three-eyed lizard behind her.

Lin Qianqian could swim, but the river current was too strong, and she also had to use one hand to pull Yunze, so she couldn't swim ashore at all. Besides, the group of monsters on the bank hadn't left yet and were chasing them along the shore.

They absolutely could not get ashore now, so they had no choice but to hold onto each other and drift downstream.

Fortunately, after drifting for several hundred meters, they came across a three- or four-meter-long piece of broken wood. The two of them swam over with all their might, grabbed the wood, and climbed onto it, which saved them some energy.

After an unknown amount of time, the group of three-eyed lizards that had been following them could no longer be seen on the riverbank. They were also lucky not to have encountered any monsters in the river.

When they reached a section of the river with a gentler current, Lin Qianqian pushed off with all her might, using the broken log to swim towards the shore. After much effort, the two were finally about to climb ashore.

Just then, she heard voices. Ah! Someone! Her first reaction was, "Great! I've finally encountered someone; I can ask them for help now."

But before she could even open her mouth to scream, a large hand covered her mouth. Lin Qianqian was startled and turned her head to look. She saw Yun Ze covering her mouth with one hand and making a shushing gesture with the other.

Seeing her puzzled look, Yunze gestured for her to observe further. She nodded and followed Yunze slowly back into the water, only her eyes showing as she looked at the two people twenty meters from the shore.

They were a male and a female cultivator, both handsome and beautiful. They leaned close together, talking intimately, and soon their faces were pressed together, their lips were touching, and their hands became restless.

Wow, are people in the cultivation world really this unrestrained?

This was in the wild, and next to them lay the carcass of a three-meter-long multi-legged insect that looked almost like a centipede.

The insect corpse was still bleeding dark green blood, indicating it had just been killed.

After a while, the two finished their lovemaking and thankfully didn't end up sleeping under the open sky or engaging in any explicit scenes.

Otherwise, these two viewers hiding in the water would be debating whether or not to watch the blockbuster for free.

The female cultivator was the first to stand up. She slowly straightened her clothes, then walked to the tree next to her, preparing to reach out and pick the blood-red fruit from the tree.

The male cultivator walked to the corpse of the centipede, took out a dagger, and prepared to dissect the insect to find something.

Just as the male cultivator bent down, the female cultivator quickly picked the fruit and put it away. Then, she turned around, drew her sword, and stabbed the man in the back, sending blood flying.

The male cultivator did not die immediately. He looked down at the sword tip that had pierced through his body and turned his head away in disbelief.

With wide eyes and bulging veins on her neck, she couldn't believe that her lover, who had just been so affectionate, would turn around and kill her.

Seeing this, Lin Qianqian in the river was so frightened that she almost screamed, but Yunze reacted quickly and pushed her into the water.

The two held their breath underwater for a while before surfacing to look in that direction again.

The male cultivator had already fallen to the ground, and the female cultivator was in no better shape, wielding her sword and fighting against another, even larger, multi-legged insect.

But it was clear that she was no match for the monster on her own, and she soon found herself at a disadvantage, forced to fight and run.

The centipede, however, refused to let her go, relentlessly pursuing and attacking her.

After a long while, when there was still no movement, at Yunze's signal, Lin Qianqian carefully climbed ashore first, and then dragged him up as well.

Yunze asked Lin Qianqian to help him to the male cultivators, but Lin Qianqian was terrified of the human corpses and refused to get close.

Yunze had no choice but to explain, "I saw that the male cultivator's storage bag was still there, but the female cultivator didn't have time to take it. I went over to check if there were any medicines inside. If I can't find any good medicine, I won't live much longer."

Hearing him say that, Lin Qianqian's eyes welled up with tears. Without thinking, she picked him up in a princess carry and ran over to him.

Before Yunze could even recover from the shock of being carried in a princess carry, Lin Qianqian had already pulled a small storage bag the size of a purse off the male cultivator and examined it several times.

Then she handed it to him and said, "Open it and see if there's any medicine you can use inside." Yunze took it and looked at it; it was just a low-grade storage bag.

This male cultivator was probably an ordinary disciple of some small sect. Although he guessed there wouldn't be anything good in the bag, he still focused his attention on looking inside.

The bag's owner is dead, and the divine imprint on it has dissipated. Now, this bag is ownerless.

Although Yunze's golden core was dug out and his cultivation was destroyed, leaving him somewhat listless, he still possessed the divine sense to open an unclaimed storage bag.

He took out three or four bottles, some herbs, a sword, two sets of clothes, several talismans, and something that looked like a mirror or a plate. Yunze said it was an array plate, and that was it.

Not only did Yunze look down on him, but even Lin Qianqian thought this unlucky guy was a penniless wretch. She never imagined that the two of them were even poorer than the unfortunate male cultivator on the ground, having absolutely nothing.

But now was not the time to dawdle. Lin Qianqian pointed to the bottles and asked, "Quickly, see if there's any medicine you can use." Yunze didn't want to disappoint Lin Qianqian, so he opened one of the bottles, poured out a pill, and took it.

"This is a healing medicine; it helps with external injuries. After taking it, the external injuries will be mostly healed in two days." What he didn't say was that this medicine was only effective for external injuries. His golden core, his cultivation, and his spiritual root could not be repaired without rare and precious materials. But he wouldn't say these things now, lest she worry.

Lin Qianqian was overjoyed to hear Yunze say it would help with the injuries. Although they had applied that magical liquid along the way, Yunze's abrasions had healed considerably due to the long journey. His leg injury had also been treated with herbal medicine and was slowly improving.

However, the wound on his abdomen has not improved. So far, it has only stopped bleeding, but the wound is still pale and the flesh is turned outwards. It is a miracle that he has survived until now!
