Chapter 40 The Fiancée Scandal

The morning sun warms the body, while the gentle breeze is slightly cool.

The atmosphere was refreshingly pleasant, but Zheng Ya was met with Wu Wei's mocking laughter, which ruined his mood. He glanced at her unhappily and turned to the gatekeeper: "Sir, I'm an employee here to report for duty. This is my certificate. Please take a look."

"Hey, young man, you're quite something. You're a full-time employee right from the start. Come on, register in this logbook, and you can start working here." Old Liu glanced at the certificate in his hand, slightly surprised, and took out a record sheet and pen, placing them on the windowsill to greet him, without taking the certificate.

There are many types of certificates required for factory entry and employment.

Holding a note of approval from a superior, he is an employee parachuted in.

The street office issues an employment certificate, which is a white paper with a red seal. It is a regular employment certificate, and the person who is employed is an apprentice.

The yellow paper and red seal prove that the applicant falls under the category of military dependents being hired.

The last type of employment certificate from the college is for special talents.

Zheng Ya's employment certificate belonged to a military family member, and he was probably aware of the differences, so he didn't comment, but simply signed the document.

Wu Wei was angered by his disregard and walked up to him angrily, saying, "What kind of attitude is this?"

"Grandpa, are dogs allowed to be kept at the gate of the steel rolling mill?" Zheng Ya asked in a sarcastic tone while signing the papers. Grandpa Liu, a shrewd man, saw that Wu Wei was about to explode and laughed, "Young people should know how to be polite."

You're not asking me whether the gatekeeper at the steel rolling mill is allowed to keep dogs, but why do I feel like you're calling me a dog?

"Sir, that's going too far!"

"I can't possibly insult you, sir. You're a new employee and you're already disrespecting your elders. That's unacceptable!" Zheng Ya said earnestly, her words dripping with insults.

This made Wu Wei so angry that she jumped up and down: "You bastard..."

"Sir, how much is this bastard per pound? Is it a specialty product?" Zheng Ya offered a dismissive insult.

The implication was clear: they were trying to get rid of him.

Why are these two people, who are completely unrelated, getting together?

Self-righteous, unwilling to live a peaceful life, and yet they have the nerve to disturb other people's lives. Is that polite?

Wu Wei was furious and wanted to beat him up, but she couldn't find a reason to do so. She glared fiercely at the back of his head, as if that would make her hate him to the point of oblivion.

On the contrary, Grandpa Liu got angry too. He was using me as a scapegoat for no reason. He angrily took away the notebook and pen that he had signed and chased him away: "Get lost!"

"Alright, sir, you're busy. I'll quickly send you a dog to raise..." Zheng Ya was sincere in getting rid of Wu Wei, wanting her to know that in his eyes she was just a mad dog.

Aside from barking and disturbing the peace, it's utterly useless.

Wu Wei was almost driven mad by him. Even Grandpa Liu got angry, rushed to the window and stuck his head out to yell, "You brat, are you trying to make me uncomfortable? Get the hell out of here!"

"Alright, bye-bye." Zheng Ya turned around and waved goodbye with a flourish. Wu Wei followed him angrily, which made Zheng Ya even angrier. What was this woman trying to do?

Can't you understand human language?

He was angry, but Zheng Ya ignored her and went straight to the factory office building. He went up the stairs to the third floor and knocked on the door of the factory manager's office: "Bang, bang, bang."

Its predecessor was a steel rolling mill that came three times.

Because his father, Zheng Daotong, was a section chief with two positions: on the surface, he was the head of the security department of the steel rolling mill, but in secret, he was the deputy section chief of the police station. He would basically go to handle cases after arranging work at the steel rolling mill. Therefore, as the son of the section chief, he had to put on an act in the factory to hide his father's true identity.

This is the real reason why Zheng Ya requested to work at the steel rolling mill.

Is the "one person, one job" rule in the workplace of this era, or is it a principle of passing down one's work position to one's father?

"Please come in." Director Yang called him in, and they were stunned when they saw each other.

The two had met three times and exchanged a few words, but they weren't really close.

The key issue is that the father of the deceased was killed, and as the factory director, he hadn't had time to handle the aftermath, making the meeting somewhat awkward.

Since it involves dual positions, both units need to handle the aftermath, reach a consensus, and then make a decision.

As a result, a month has passed without any response.

Of course, the main reason is that the case has not yet been solved, and Zheng Daotong's sacrifice was too bizarre for the police to determine.

Only by avenging Zheng Daotong can we appease his family and provide a satisfactory explanation.

This has led to the delay in the follow-up work until now.

Another reason involves Wu Wei outside the door, which gives Director Yang a headache and makes him reluctant to talk about it.

Zheng Ya noticed his unnatural expression and felt a little uncomfortable. She tentatively said, "Uncle Yang, I'm sorry to disturb your work. If you don't have time for a kid like me, I'll leave..."

"Alright, kid, stop joking around and sit down to talk." Director Yang got up to pour him tea, not daring to ask the director's secretary next door for help.

Some things need to be resolved privately.

This made Zheng Ya a little uncomfortable. He wasn't flattered, but he sensed that something was wrong with Director Yang: "Uncle Yang, you can just call me over."

"If I really have to trouble you, a factory manager, to make me tea, should I drink it or not?"

"You've learned to be cheeky, haven't you?"

Uncle Yang is making you tea today, so please feel free to drink it.

"Just pretend you're a big leader for once, and as a descendant of a martyr, you should have a cup of tea from me to put your mind at ease. Drink up!" Director Yang handed him the teacup, reassuring him with a hint of guilt.

Something's wrong, something's not right!

Zheng Ya took the teacup thoughtfully, nodded, sat down, and said, "Uncle Yang, please speak frankly. I'm almost nineteen years old now, which means I'm an adult. I can handle things, so please speak freely."

"Alright, Uncle Yang, I have two things to tell you."

The first issue concerns the aftermath of your father, Zheng Daotong. Since the police case is still unsolved, it may take some time before a decision can be made.

I hope this won't affect your life.

"Of course, if you have any difficulties, you can come to me, or you can go to the leaders at the police station to help you resolve your troubles." Director Yang frankly clarified a fact, indicating that the case of Zheng Daotong's sacrifice was not simple.

Unable to figure it out, Zheng Ya didn't bother to think about it and nodded slightly, saying, "That's no problem, I'm doing just fine on my own!"

Uncle Yang, don't worry about me. Please tell me the second thing.

"Ahem, this second thing is a bit hard for me to say!" Factory Director Yang awkwardly turned to walk towards his seat, unable to face anyone.

This puzzled Zheng Ya, and Wu Wei outside the door became nervous.

The factory manager's secretary next door saw Wu Wei leaning against the wall eavesdropping when he came out. He retreated back into his office and exclaimed, "What kind of nonsense is this?"

Seeing that Director Yang had his back to him, Zheng Ya asked in bewilderment, "Uncle Yang, it's not good to keep people in suspense!"

"Alright, you need to be mentally prepared and not get agitated," Director Yang turned around to reassure him, afraid that what he said might upset Zheng Ya and cause something bad to happen.

Zheng Ya nodded slightly: "Okay, I won't get excited, I'll listen to you quietly?"

I thought to myself, "That's strange."

Seeing that he couldn't avoid it any longer, Director Yang forced himself to say, "Your fiancée has taken over your father's position at the steel rolling mill..."

"What the hell?" Zheng Ya crushed the teacup in his hand, stood up as if to kill someone, but his smile was rather ambiguous...
