Chapter 155 Research Institute

Xia Youyou was caught off guard by the fact that the research institute would come so quickly. She thought she would have to wait a few days.

So, before the two of them had even eaten, they were taken away by the Research Institute. Before leaving, Qi Siling asked Xu Qiang to go to the Mechanical Institute to give Cao An a message, and then the two left the school.

The couple held hands and sat in the military jeep. Qi Siling's eyes were covered with a black cloth. Although his face was calm, he held her hand tightly, revealing his nervousness at the moment.

Xia Youyou was not worried at all. It was a state secret. Even if they were not spies, doing this would be responsible to the country and to them.

The vehicle was shaking as it drove on the road. The two people who were sitting steadily at first started shaking and jumping at the back, which shows how bumpy the road was.

Xia Youyou lost her balance and bumped into the door frame. She hissed and was hugged tightly by Qi Siling.

"Please drive more steadily!" Qi Siling's voice was a little cold. He kept his feet steady in the car, held her tightly with one hand, and held the back of the front seat with the other hand.

The driver and the person in the passenger seat looked at each other, and a hint of disdain appeared in their calm eyes.

The two men didn't hear anyone talking, so they could only continue waiting. The shaking wait was very long. Just when they thought it would continue, the vehicle braked suddenly and finally stopped.

Xia Youyou breathed a sigh of relief and patted her stuffy chest. If she didn't stop, she was afraid she would vomit in the car.

Qi Siling grabbed the black cloth from his eyes, and after his tightly closed eyes adjusted to the glaring white light, he slowly opened them. He turned around and ripped the cloth from Xia Youyou's eyes as well. The next second, the glaring light was blocked by a large palm.

"Take your time. Don't open your eyes yet."

Xia Youyou nodded, blinked slowly, and finally opened her eyes. Her small hand grabbed his and pulled him down. "It's okay."

The two of them slowed down in the car for a while before they could see their surroundings clearly.

Outside the car was a neatly arranged army, standing solemnly with cold eyes and serious expressions.

"Come down."

The person who spoke was the middle-aged man who had just gone to the classroom to greet the two of them.

As the two got out of the car, a valley appeared before them.

"Let me introduce myself. I'm the team leader of the computer research team at the Research Institute. My name is Zhou Wei."

Xia Youyou didn't look at him, but just raised her head to look at the mountain and the road they came from, and then she was sure where she was.

This was a valley, and in front of them was an air-raid shelter, and where they were standing was on the platform of the air-raid shelter.

"I heard from Yan Ke that you learned your computer skills by yourself? Haha, do you think we should believe it?" Zhou Wei sneered, but his eyes were cold and ruthless.

Qi Siling raised his hand and blocked Xia Youyou behind him. "Whether you believe it or not is none of our business. The idea is in our heads. Can you really peel my brain open?"

Xia Youyou wasn't afraid. She grabbed his arm and stuck her head out. "If you don't believe me, why did you bring us to this secret base? Don't scare us. I'm not afraid of being scared!"

Zhou Wei was stunned for a moment, then burst into laughter, "Little girl, why aren't you afraid of me?"

Xia Youyou curled her lips, shrugged, and stretched out her small hand to Qi Siling's big hand, letting him hold it. "Why should I be afraid of you? I'm not even afraid of death." I thought it would be a big event, but it was just a research center built in the mountains, isolated from the world.

Qi Siling didn't dare to relax, but just held her tightly, his eyes scanning the faces of the people around him.

Zhou Wei put his hands behind his back, his lips curled as he looked the two of them up and down. He didn't believe in the strict theory that a Buddha statue could enlighten one's spiritual acupoints at the moment of death. He only believed in science.

"Okay, little girl, you're really courageous. Come in with me now. Once you've passed the hardest stage, we can have a good chat."

The two were led into the air-raid shelter, and Xia Youyou looked around curiously. The cave was at least three meters high and four meters long. It was chilly, and the dim yellow lights at intervals made the cave seem even more eerie and dark.

Zhou Wei led the way in front, with two people following behind him, and the army followed behind in neat steps.

After walking for about ten minutes, Zhou Wei turned around and knocked on a wall on the right. The stone wall moved from the inside and slowly opened, revealing a strange secret room with only a bench.

Zhou Wei turned around and stared at Xia Youyou, with a smile on his lips. "Little girl, if you're not afraid of death, why don't you go in and give it a try?"

Qi Siling was tense the entire time. After hearing what he said, she hugged Xia Youyou and dodged to the side, acting defensively. "What are you going to do? Come at me if you have anything to say!"

"Don't worry, we won't do anything." Zhou Wei waved his hand, and a dozen people came forward to capture Xia Youyou.

How could he be at ease? He held Xia Youyou in one hand while retreating and blocking. He suddenly felt a little panicked. He shouldn't have taken this risk with Xia Youyou alone! Fortunately, those people were only coming to capture the two of them and didn't really attack. So he was able to reluctantly take Xia Youyou away.

Xia Youyou staggered backwards while being carried. There was no fear on her face, but her eyes gradually grew colder.

"Is this how you invite people?"

A sweet voice rang out in the air-raid shelter, and after Qi Siling was slapped on the arm, she finally took action.

She grabbed Qi Siling's hand as a fulcrum and with a roundhouse kick, she kicked the soldier's arm away.

Qi Siling held her tightly, "Be good, don't move, I can do it, otherwise your heart won't be able to bear it."

Xia Youyou took a deep breath and looked at Zhou Wei, who was standing behind them. Her cold voice suggested she was genuinely angry. "Just tell me what you want to do. You've arrested me as a spy, so you'll have to make it right. Do you want to torture me or take a lie detector test? Just go ahead and do it. I'm afraid you won't come along!"

She had thought everyone in this era was a good person. Tsk, she shouldn't have been so confident! It looked like it would be another tough battle! Then she hoped they wouldn't have to beg her for help!

Zhou Wei then put away his expression of watching a good show and gestured for the captors to move aside. "As long as you go in here, I will let you leave safely."

Qi Siling looked at her in his arms and shook his head, "Youyou, let's not go in. He is not a good person!" He regretted it!

"It's okay." Xia Youyou stroked his worried brows with her small hands, "Don't worry, I'll be fine, we'll all be fine!"

"No! Youyou, be obedient, I can beat you out!" He pulled his hands off his face and retreated with her.

"Brother Qi." Xia Youyou called him, "Have you forgotten what I have? You said it yourself, if I want something from someone, there are plenty of ways." She whispered into his chest, words that only the two of them could understand.

"But!" Qi Siling wanted to say something, but at Zhou Wei's signal, the group rushed forward, pulling and finally separating the two.

Qi Siling struggled hard and watched Xia Youyou being taken into the secret room.
