Chapter 39 Misunderstanding

Qi Siling controlled her anger and explained to the girl in a gentle tone.

"What can I say so that you will believe me?"

"You get out! Now!"

Qi Siling looked at her deeply, her aggrieved look making him feel reluctant to force her any further, so he could only retreat from the alley.

Xia Youyou watched him retreat, then stood up and walked over to the man on the ground. "What on earth are you doing? Why are you following me?"

Qi Siling leaned against the wall outside the alley, watching the little girl's interrogation. Her small body, feigned strength, and resilient character made the corners of his lips curl up again.

"I have a grudge against Cao An. When I found out you were his sister, I wanted to capture you and threaten him." The man on the ground spoke weakly, his purpose. He had been careless; he hadn't anticipated the girl's ability to strike back. "What was that injection you gave me?" The scarred man felt a pain all over his body, as if he were being bitten by a dense swarm of insects. He wanted to roll over on the ground.

Xia Youyou squatted down and approached him. "Don't be afraid, it's just an ordinary neuron. You won't die. At most, you can't die!" She put away the syringe behind her and asked, "Do you know that person? Are you in the same group as him?"

"If you give me the antidote, I will tell you." The scarred man struggled desperately, trying to negotiate terms.

"Do you think you're qualified to negotiate now?" Xia Youyou tapped him on the head with a stun gun. "You're so stupid and you still want to negotiate with me? And you want to kidnap me? What's your grudge against my brother?"

The scarred man's eyes flashed with viciousness, "Oh, I was careless. The one outside is my brother. You wait to die!"

"Tsk, do you think I'll believe your little trick of sowing discord?" She stood up and kicked him hard! Amid the man's painful groan, she walked out of the alley.

"I'm sorry, I misunderstood you." She looked at the man in black leaning against the wall. Since she'd misunderstood, an apology was necessary. The scarred man's eyes darted around as he negotiated, and she knew they weren't in the same group. Even if they were, he could have simply distanced himself from the matter.

"How are you sure?" Didn't that person say he was an accomplice? How could he suddenly be so sure he wasn't?

"If someone is still trying to negotiate when they're in the depths of pain, it's obvious they're not telling the truth. And his eyes are dazed, clearly trying to figure out some kind of countermeasure. I'm not stupid; I can still see through these little tricks." She took the stun gun from his hand, still hot from his hand, and put it in her bag, avoiding where he was holding it.

"Tell me, what do you want from me?"

Qi Siling glanced at the lying man. "This isn't the place to talk. What are you going to do with him?"

Xia Youyou took him outside, talking to him in a low voice as they walked. "Humph, he can't run away. Let him lie down first. I need to go to my brother's workplace."

Cao An was working in a greenhouse outside, so he could only go to the police station to find his colleagues. Luckily, she knew them all, so she could tell them directly about the situation. Current technology couldn't detect neuron, so there was no need to worry about anyone discovering his secret. At most, they would think the scarred man was faking it, trying to evade legal action.

Qi Siling walked alongside her, squinting sideways as she squinted at the resentful, lively-eyed girl. She was clearly plotting something sinister. She clenched her teeth. This girl was a tough character too!

"Your brother?" Is it the tall man from that night?

"You've seen it. My brother is a police officer." She didn't mind using Cao An as a deterrent. It wasn't the first time she had done it.

"So, the grain you sell is your brother's channel?"

"No!" Xia Youyou looked up at him, alarm bells ringing in her heart. This guy is trying to trick her! "If you want food, don't ask so many questions. If you're not sincere, we can choose not to cooperate."

"How did you know I was looking for a partnership?" Qi Siling became even more curious about this little girl. She looked only in her teens, barely reaching his chest. She was still a child, so how could she have so many thoughts?

"You can't just ask me to trade the yellow croaker for food? That's fine too, I don't mind." Yellow croaker isn't worth much now, but it might be worth more later. She has plenty of food, so she can definitely invest in it.

Qi Siling sneered and said, "You also need yellow croaker to cooperate, but I don't have money." He only has yellow croaker!

Xia Youyou looked at him suspiciously. How could he have so many pornographic products in this era of severe crackdowns?

"You didn't steal this porn from a bank, did you?"

Qi Siling was at a loss for words. The little girl had such a rich imagination!

"It belongs to my ancestors, it just hasn't been found." I said the truth unconsciously, but the little girl looked unconvinced. I kind of want to touch her head, she's so cute!

"Okay, how much do you want this time?"

"The more the better. I don't mean hundreds of pounds, of course."

Xia Youyou stopped and became alert again. "I should have the right to ask what you want to do with it, right?"

Qi Siling raised his eyebrows and said nothing. There was nothing he couldn't say.

"My grandfather raised a whole yard of orphans, and they needed a lot of food."

"So how did you get by before?" She had no problem with doing good deeds, but she was a little skeptical. These days, it's hard to even support yourself, so how could you support a whole yard of orphans?

"At first, there were only one or two of us, and we lived off the land, so it wasn't that difficult. Over the past two years, I've picked up a few poor kids, but things are starting to get tough. I ran into you last time I was wandering around here for a few days, and you've finally made it possible for us to have enough food. Since you're dealing in porn, I have quite a bit too, so how about a partnership?" He had opened the basement of the old house without Grandpa's knowledge, and he had hidden it well during the turmoil, so he wasn't found. Now the old house is deserted, and I wonder if there's ever a chance for Grandpa to return there again.
