Chapter 164 Treasure Hunt Again

In the following time, the couple devoted themselves to design, dividing the work, one working on hardware and the other on software. During holidays, they would go to the scrap yard to pick up some broken radios, take parts from them, and use them to assemble new computers.

Xia Youyou also collected some treasures by the way. She held those rare calligraphy and paintings and porcelain, and laughed beautifully, which made Qi Siling feel pity for her again.

"I've never seen you this happy among all the treasures in the family."

"You don't understand, these are what belong to me, and those are yours." Xia Youyou always felt that the things in the secret room were all saved by his ancestors, and could not be said to belong to her. At most, she was responsible for keeping them.

Qi Siling smiled bitterly and shook his head, "Do you have to be so clear with me?"

"How can I tell you apart from you? I'm telling you apart from your ancestors!" Xia Youyou said to him as they walked, "What we earn together belongs to us. It's our ancestors' money that I'm telling you apart so clearly!"

Hearing this, Qi Siling was satisfied. He took her to a secluded place and put the things she bought into the space.

After coming out of the scrap yard, Xia Youyou wanted to go to the black market to take a look, but Qi Siling refused, "There are all kinds of people there. If you want to buy antiques, I'll take you to the place we went last time."

Xia Youyou sat on the front bumper, looked around to make sure no one was around, then turned around and reached into his thin windbreaker, wrapping her arms around his slender waist. The early spring weather had finally warmed up considerably, so he wore a thin white shirt underneath. Worried about being cold, he also put on a windbreaker to shield her from the wind.

As for her, she was still afraid of the cold and was wearing a green cotton jacket.

"I want to go out and play, I want to see the flowers. You said last time that you would take me to the suburbs to see the flower gardens." She felt a little aggrieved. She had been busy since she came here and had not yet taken a good look at the scenery here.

Qi Siling rode the bike with one hand, holding her back tightly with his left hand, pulling her closer to him. "Sorry, since we have some free time now, I'll take you to see it." Everyone was busy with their studies, and she was the only one who knew everything. No one wanted her to participate in the construction over there, but wouldn't that make her feel bored?

"Let's not go today. Let's go next week. Then I'll go with my brother and the others, and bring mom along too."

"Okay, I'll do whatever you say." Taking advantage of the fact that no one was around, he lowered his head and kissed the top of her head.

When they arrived at the Antique Street, Qi Siling parked his bicycle and then took Xia Youyou into the alley.

Just like before, the entire alley was filled with vendors setting up stalls, but unlike last time, there were noticeably more people. Antique dealers were also out, displaying visibly fake goods.

Xia Youyou looked at some of the exquisitely crafted replicas and couldn't help but sigh. The real cultural relics had all been lost overseas, and the remaining ones were almost all destroyed during the "Four Olds" campaign. There were very few originals left.

The two of them walked slowly through the crowded alley, occasionally stopping in front of the stalls to take a look. Xia Youyou didn't try anything, but just pretended to be curious and watched others bargaining, then left.

Qi Siling stood behind her to protect her, so that no one would bump into her. After walking around for a long time, she still didn't see what she was buying. "Don't you have anything you like?"

She shrugged and said, "I haven't seen anything interesting yet." There were some, but they were not to her liking.

Xia Youyou walked from one end of the alley to the other, but didn't see anything she liked.

As they were walking back, they ran into the same vendor. He had just finished setting up his stall, and Xia Youyou recognized him. Thinking of the gold filigree bracelet and Yuan Dynasty blue and white porcelain she had found there before, she excitedly tugged at Qi Siling's skirt, and the two of them squeezed in front of the stall.

The stall owner also recognized the two people, mainly because one was tall and the other short, one was handsome and the other was beautiful, making it impossible to forget them.

"Oh, I see you again. What would you like to see this time? I just brought some stuff from the country. Take a look and see if there's anything you like!"

The vendor's enthusiasm infected the two of them, and Xia Youyou also squatted down with a smile. She saw a good thing at first sight. She picked up a bead next to it and asked casually, "What is this?"

"You have good taste, girl! I heard that this is a pearl that only the queen can wear!" The peddler had to admire the girl's vision. Among the things on the stall, this was the most expensive one.

Xia Youyou took the thumb-sized pearl in her hand, looked around, and then put it down. It was real, but there was no need to worry.

He picked up the jade plate beside him that was emitting a translucent glow and asked, "How much is this?"

"This is ten yuan. Miss, I'm not telling you it's too expensive, and please don't push me too hard." The vendor was still terrified of her bargaining attitude last time. He wasn't afraid that she would look down on him, but that she would offer too low a price. At least most of the goods on his stall were genuine, unlike some others who used imitations to fool people.

Xia Youyou lowered her head and continued to look. It wasn't that expensive. "Okay, I'll take another look."

Qi Siling squatted beside her and put the few things she had taken aside to avoid confusion. He knew that anything that passed through her hands was basically something she liked, and the things she really wanted to buy would definitely be the most unexpected!

Sure enough, Xia Youyou asked a few questions before picking up a tall cup. "This is quite interesting. What is this?"

"Is this blue and white, and has cloud and dragon patterns!" the vendor muttered to himself. He himself didn't even realize the secret of this high-footed cup, and bought it as a fake.

"How much is this?"

"Here, give me five dollars. I won't make any profit from you. I charge one dollar for each one I buy!" The vendor was not sure if she had seen anything, so his bid was a bit unrealistic.

Xia Youyou was secretly delighted, but she didn't show it on her face. She picked up the Dongzhu in Qi Siling's hand and said, "This one should be a little smaller. I like this one too."

She had just looked at a few bracelets, all of which were old items, but the jade quality was not very good and there were still many cracks. There was no use in taking them back, so she decided to just take these two.

"Oh, little girl, I really didn't ask you a price! How about this, Dongzhu, can you give me eight dollars?" The vendor could see that even if he didn't ask for a high price, the girl would still give him a counter.

Seeing her nod, Qi Siling took out his bag and gave her the money. But he felt amusement in his heart. It seemed like the vendor was taking advantage, but was this little girl someone who could let him take advantage? Who knows who would be the one being ripped off!

Sure enough, as soon as Xia Youyou came out of the alley, she sat in his arms and started laughing.

"Hold on tight, or you might fall!" Qi Siling held him firmly with his left hand, and rode the bicycle onto the road with great speed.

"Brother Qi, guess which one of the treasures I found this time!" She put her arms around his waist, raised her head on his chest, and asked with a proud look on her face.

"I guess it must be the blue and white porcelain." Qi Siling knew it was the same trick as last time, and it made the vendor like her even more.

"Yes, yes, do you know what dynasty that was from?"

"I really don't know that, tell me!"
