Xiao Hai looked at him calmly and let the old man look him over.
The old man looked more and more satisfied, "Which school?"
"Hua University, Department of Economics." Xiao Hai answered honestly.
"What about Cao An?" Old Qi had just heard the police talking to the burly boy and knew his name.
"Brother Cao is also from Hua University. He's in the Department of Mechanical Engineering."
Mr. Qi never expected that these four people were all students from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
"So you're good friends?"
Xiao Hai smiled. During this period of time, he had been looking for Xia Youyou after he and Cao An finished their exams. Now she had returned. He had not slept all day yesterday and only now was he feeling tired.
He sat down on the stool opposite, "Grandpa, let me lie down and talk to you. I've been a little tired because of some family matters recently."
Old Qi watched him lying on the bench and became even more satisfied with the boy's attitude.
As people get older, more people see it.
I have never seen anyone who doesn't flatter him after knowing his identity.
Not to mention this kind of roughness that is not concealed at all.
So Xiao Hai lay down, put his hands behind his head, and began to talk to Mr. Qi about the relationship between the four people.
"We are not biological brothers, but Sheng is a biological brother. Xia Youyou is our biological sister, and she is someone we all have to protect."
Xiao Hai smiled and closed his eyes. "Those two got married after the college entrance exam. Cao An was a police officer in Bao City. After adopting Xia Youyou, the brother and sister both won the top spot in Bao City. Brother Qi was the top scorer in Beijing."
He didn't mention himself, but only praised the good things about several people, saying whatever came to his mind.
Old Qi listened to him quietly, and his voice became smaller and smaller until it was silent.
After making sure he was asleep, he stood up.
Qi Siling opened the door and came out, glanced at Xiao Hai who was sitting on the bench, turned around, took the quilt from the empty bed, walked to the bench and covered Xiao Hai with it.
Xiao Hai woke up in shock. Seeing that it was him, he called out in confusion, then turned around and closed his eyes again.
"Go to the bed inside and sleep." Qi Siling wrapped him in the quilt and advised him softly. Worried that he would be cold in this weather, she took off her woolen coat and covered him with it.
"No need, this place is fine." Xiao Hai said in a daze, tucked the quilt under his chin, and fell into a deep sleep.
Old Qi watched silently from the opposite side, and only smiled at him when he turned around, his eyes full of admiration.
"Mr. Qi, please come in and sit for a while." Qi Siling extended his hand to invite him into the ward.
"No, the little girl should be fine. I'm going back, old man." Old Qi stood up, nodded to him, and left with the guards.
Qi Siling watched him leave, turned around and looked at Xiao Hai again, then walked into the ward.
The little girl on the bed was sleeping soundly, so he didn't close the door and left it open so that he could listen to the noise outside.
He sat down on the stool beside the bed, reached into the quilt, held her delicate little hand, and squeezed it.
The other hand touched her forehead, lingering on her face lovingly, his whole heart filled with guilt.
I don’t know where she has been for the past half month. She has made herself so miserable, but she never thought that they would be so worried?
Xia Youyou woke up at night.
When she opened her eyes, she saw an empty ward. Just when she thought that meeting Qi Siling was a dream, the door of the ward was opened.
Qi Siling was holding a box of lunch and had just persuaded Xiao Hai to go home.
When I opened the door, I subconsciously looked at the person on the bed, and found that the little girl opened her eyes and looked at me.
Maybe because of her illness, her cheeks were thin and her double eyelids were sunken, making her lively big eyes look even bigger.
She looked straight at him, somewhat surprised, as if she couldn't believe it was him.
Qi Siling locked the door with his backhand, took two steps at a time, leaned over and picked her up.
Xia Youyou's eyes were filled with tears. When she was picked up, she tilted her head back and rubbed his neck. Hot tears flowed out, wetting the skin between them.
Qi Siling hugged her tighter, his right hand tightly grasping her butterfly bone, and his left hand stroking the back of her head.
"Be good, don't cry, don't cry." He tilted his head and kissed her ear, followed the tear marks and kissed away the moisture, and finally kissed her eyes.
Xia Youyou raised her hands as high as she could, wanting to hug his neck.
"Brother Qi~"
Maybe it was because of her illness, she was more fragile at this moment and her voice was hoarse.
She called him softly and tenderly, Qi Siling let go of her a little bit, guided her hand to place it on his shoulder, hugged her tightly again, and kissed her dry lips.
Xia Youyou closed her mouth tightly, not letting his tongue enter her mouth.
I hugged his neck tightly with my hands and couldn't stop crying.
Qi Siling looked at her, his lips still rubbing against her cheek. "Be good, open your mouth."
Her voice was hoarse from missing someone so much. His big hand moved from behind her head to her face, wiping away her tears bit by bit.
Xia Youyou shook her head. "If you're sick, it's contagious."
The man didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Did she miss the point? But when he heard her hoarse voice, his heart still skipped a beat.
He kissed her little face again and again, and said vaguely, "Don't talk, does your throat hurt?"
He moved a little, leaned against the head of the bed, held the little girl in his arms, and took out the seafood porridge that Xiao Hai had brought.
"Be good, you can only eat something light now. You haven't eaten for two days. Are you very hungry?"
Looking at her thinning face, Qi Si Ling's heart ached.
It is not easy for her to gain weight. This little face of hers has finally become a little rounder, and now it will take another year or two to restore it.
Qi Siling scooped up a spoonful of seafood porridge, blew on it, and then put it to her lips to test the temperature. After making sure it was not hot, she handed it to her lips.
Xia Youyou's throat still hurt, and she had difficulty swallowing the food.
A knife-like pain swept through her body, and her eyebrows were twisted into knots in pain.
