In the winter of 1976, a flash of red light shone through a dilapidated temple in the eastern suburbs, illuminating the pitch-black night sky. A pair of wild mandarin ducks in the grove were blinded by the glow, their buttocks reddening. The man, terrified, fled without even pulling up his pants. The woman, left standing stunned, fainted after reaching her climax.
A flash of red light passed, and Xia Youyou dazedly woke up, curled up in a long-lost chill. Wasn't the underground base temperature constant? Why was it suddenly so cold? Was the thermostat broken?
I opened my eyes, only to see darkness. Was there a power outage? Impossible! My parents had stored all the electricity the base needed, so how could it have gone out? I fumbled around, feeling something was wrong. Where was my top-quality goose down comforter? What was that thing beneath me? It was all piled up, rustling with every movement.
She shuddered, rummaging through the space to find her thermal suit and wrap herself in it. No! Where are my breasts? Touching her skinny body, her eyes widened as she pulled out a solar-powered flashlight and turned it on.
What is this place? Why is it so dirty? What's going on? I shone the light around, and everywhere I looked was tattered and broken. I couldn't figure out what was on the ground, so I gave up. I looked up again. Why was there a hole?
She sat down again. What was going on? Was she dreaming? She felt her body weaken, then looked down at the things beneath her. It was a bit uncomfortable. She pulled out an outdoor moisture-proof mat from her space, lay down on it, and fell asleep.
Early in the morning, there was a commotion outside the woods. A woman was lying on the ground, surrounded by a group of people who were pointing and talking.
"Hey, isn't this Widow Wang from the end of the village? Does it look like she had an affair last night?"
"Go away, you are not afraid of getting stye!"
The women drove away the men who were surrounding them and started talking again. No one went to help Widow Wang cover herself with anything, leaving her to freeze.
Until the captain came over, pushed away the noisy crowd, glanced at the ground and quickly turned around.
"Old Third, help Widow Wang put on her pants. What a disgrace!" Wang Cheng, the captain of the Red Star Brigade in East City, was so angry at this scene that his face turned red. A bunch of women, not one of them is easy to deal with!
The third wife curled her lips and reluctantly pulled up the pants of Widow Wang on the ground. I don't know how slutty she is, and she still lets people leave her here.
"You guys are just standing here watching the fun, so carry the person to the clinic. We have to go to work soon, don't dawdle!" The team still has a lot of things to do, and they are all preparing for the winter. Now that winter has just arrived, we have to hurry up!
In the dilapidated temple in the eastern suburbs, Xia Youyou was awakened by the noise outside. What was going on? She was the only one in the underground base, so how could there be any noise?
She opened her eyes dazedly, seeing devastation everywhere. A large, glaring hole above her head couldn't block out the light, which shone onto the ground not far away. Her eyes widened, and she sat up abruptly. She looked around: everything was tattered, and there was even a smashed Buddha statue! Where was this?
Oh right! Her breasts!
I touched my chest and it was really gone!!!
Looking down, she saw a pair of skinny hands grabbing her. Hands covered with dirt, if they were not covered with skin, she would have suspected that they were a skeleton!
What's going on? Can someone tell me? She's always been in good health! She's never been exposed to radiation since she was a child. Her parents have taken good care of her.
No, even people who have been exposed to radiation don't look like this. Instead, they look like people who have been starving for a long time and are so thin.
As expected, after feeling this body, she realized that her body functions were almost gone. The long-lost feeling of hunger made her panic, and she quickly took out the bread from the space and ate it!
I was stunned again! The space was still there, but this body was not mine!
Can anyone tell me what's going on?
She took a big bite of the bread and decided to eat her fill first. She got anxious when she was hungry!
She swallowed the bread with difficulty, her throat dry and uncomfortable. She took out some milk to moisten her throat. This body must have not eaten in a long time, and her stomach was empty. Even after the bread and milk, she still felt a severe sense of hunger. She knew that when you are very hungry, you should not overeat.
Finally regaining consciousness, she stood up and put the mattress and blanket away. A sudden burst of cold air sent her shivering again. She looked at her tattered clothes. While they protected her from the cold, with so little fabric, it was difficult to maintain her internal heat. She struggled to leave the shabby place, only to find the gate had been removed. Outside the gate, in the woods, she saw a group of people carrying someone out.
A man wearing tattered clothes, well, in her opinion, they were indeed tattered, and the clothes were made of different colors patchwork.
That person spoke. "Alas, this is the girl from Old Liu's family. Poor girl, her parents left her here to fend for herself..." The others also spoke about the body's fate and carried it away.
Xia Youyou listened to the general idea, a jumble of things. The gist was that her parents didn't want her, didn't treat her when she was sick, and simply threw her out. She'd been living in this dilapidated temple for six months, relying entirely on begging in the city to survive.
No, the original girl from the Liu family, the owner of this body, died last night, and her soul is now Xia Youyou from 2220!
Xia Youyou breathed in the fresh air of this unfamiliar place, feeling a wave of emotion. For a moment, she didn't know whether to feel melancholy or happy.
In the year 2220, Earth is devastated by the global nuclear fallout caused by the release of nuclear wastewater by China, making it impossible to stay outside. She spends the entire year in an underground base, her parents forbidding her from leaving, and she can only observe the outside world through surveillance cameras. The outside world, as seen through surveillance cameras, has been largely destroyed by the radiation: trees fail to grow, rivers are polluted, grass is barren, and animals are nearly extinct!
Xia Youyou looked up at the sky, a vast expanse of azure blue, something you couldn't see from inside the base. She looked at the forest before her, the leaves lush and green. Suddenly, tears fell.
Mom and Dad, did you send me here?
My parents were top researchers at the research institute, inventing many high-tech things, like the base's protective shield, which blocked radiation. Her space, for example, could be used to store supplies and house a medical station. By 2220, the space had gone into production. To make life easier for everyone, it was sold at almost cost. Everyone who had supplies got one.
Her space stores all of her supplies, as well as her parents'.
Her parents died during a mission, exposed to radiation. The research institute brought her their belongings and provided them with compensation. They had placed them in a space and she brought them here.
As for why her parents sent her here, it might be because they were researching a time-space shuttle.
Before going to bed, she drank the medicine her parents gave her, something they told her to drink when she missed them. She didn't know what it was, but she was really scared last night and thought about her parents, so she drank the bottle of liquid.
