Thanks to the efforts of the villagers, the Hope Primary School was completed two months later.
There was a four-story teaching building with three classrooms on each floor and male and female restrooms on each floor. There was also a general building with a cafeteria on the first floor, which also served as an auditorium, a library on the second floor, and teacher dormitories and some temporary housing on the third and fourth floors for children who were too far away to travel back and forth.
Xia Youyou knew that there was only one primary school nearby. Although the brigade had a literacy class before, it was located in the brigade headquarters, which was noisy and dilapidated.
Wang Cheng was told not to care about the household registration, and to arrange accommodation for anyone who came to study here, regardless of which brigade they were from, if they lived more than 3 kilometers away.
After the building was completed, Xia Youyou came again. Looking at the brand new teaching building, the playground was large and flat, and there was a flag-raising platform right in front.
He nodded with satisfaction and praised Wang Cheng's high efficiency!
Taking into account the unsafe factors in the future, he pulled Wang Cheng aside and gave him a few more instructions.
"Uncle, please come to school more often and ask about the students' lives. I don't come often, so you have to keep an eye on them for me. I'm not suspicious of anything, I just want you to pay more attention to the girls."
Wang Cheng looked at her puzzledly. What did it mean to ask him to focus his attention on girls?
How could a grown man like him stare at a girl?
Seeing that he didn't understand, Xia Youyou waved to the crowd watching the excitement in the distance, "Aunt Yang Fen, come here."
Yang Fen smiled brightly, and walked up to Xia Youyou with her head held high amidst the envious gazes of the crowd, "Youyou, you came to me."
Xia Youyou smiled at her, took her hand, and repeated what she had just said.
Yang Fen understood and glanced at the captain's brother, "I understand, Youyou!"
Wang Cheng became even more confused.
"Tsk." Yang Fen gave him a look of disdain. "Youyou meant for you to keep an eye on the school and prevent anyone from bullying the female students!"
She said the word "female student" through gritted teeth, and Wang Cheng finally reacted!
He blinked, looked at Xia Youyou, and then looked at the school complex building.
The dormitory on the third floor is for teachers and boys, and the fourth floor is for girls.
"Youyou, don't worry."
Seeing that he finally understood what she meant, Xia Youyou nodded in satisfaction. She had heard of many XQ tragedies in later generations, where many teachers extended their evil claws to their students, resulting in many unjust cases.
Her Hope Primary School is to help everyone and cannot become a den for girls!
"Uncle Wang, I'm just taking precautions. If it's inconvenient for you, you can ask Aunt Yang Fen to stop working in the cafeteria and just guard the dormitory!"
"How can that be!" Yang Fen waved her hands and refused. "Even if you didn't tell me, I would come and help keep an eye on things. I can work in the cafeteria and I can also be a dormitory manager!"
Xia Youyou shook her hand with amusement, "Then I'll give you two salaries!"
"No! I don't want it!" Yang Fen quickly refused.
"Auntie, please don't be so quick to refuse. Dormitory management is also very important. For example, you'll have to look after the library, register the children's borrowing, and watch over the dormitories and check them at night! Can you handle two jobs at once?"
Yang Fen was in a dilemma.
āIām not very literate!ā
"Then you can look after the dormitory, and Uncle Wang can arrange a teacher to look after the library." Xia Youyou didn't make things difficult for her. It was really troublesome not being able to read in school.
That's how it's decided.
The canteen was run by a few clean-loving aunts in the team, and Yang Fen was responsible for buying groceries.
The school officially opens in September.
As the honorary principal, Xia Youyou rushed over from Beijing to attend the opening ceremony organized by Wang Cheng.
She was wearing a neat military uniform and a bright red scarf. She stood under the red flag and saluted in a standard military salute.
Watching the red flag slowly rise, the national anthem was sung in a sonorous and powerful voice.
"Rise up, those who refuse to be slaves, and use our flesh and blood to build our new Great Wall..."
Behind her is the hope of the country!
On the first lesson of the new semester, Xia Youyou taught the students in the auditorium.
She installed a giant screen projector, which was produced by the Qi Siling factory specifically for Hope Primary School, so that she could show movies to the children in the auditorium from time to time in the future.
This made it easier for Xia Youyou to teach them computer skills.
She placed her laptop on the podium. The windows of the auditorium were blocked out by straw mats woven by the villagers. The colorful computer desktop projected on the giant screen was brighter than the legendary color TV!
Today, not only students sat down in the auditorium, but also villagers from the Red Star Brigade.
Xia Youyou opened the PPT, stood up, and walked to the front of the stage in the auditorium with the remote control.
He smiled and said to everyone below: "Hello, classmates!"
"Hello, teacher!" The ten specially hired teachers stood up from their seats and bowed to Xia Youyou on the stage, setting an example for the new students.
Xia Youyou smiled and raised her hand to signal them to sit down, "Please sit down."
The new teaching mode makes everyone feel excited.
This was never the case with the literacy classes they had received before.
"Students, I just showed your teacher what I did to you. I hope you will do the same in class. When your teacher greets you, you should be grateful and say hello to each other. This is the most basic etiquette."
She glanced at the crowd of people, her face confident and gentle.
"The establishment of Anhai Hope Primary School is not for our Anhai Company, but to improve the public's level of awareness."
As she moved her hands, the image on the huge screen behind her changed, turning into the sea scenery she photographed.
"Classmates, do you know what this is?"
"It's water."
