Sha Chen laughed heartily and said, "Master, you're joking. How could I be so capable as to be involved in this matter?"
"As for what you said about the Buddhist monks not having taken the Buddhist scriptures to the West, that has nothing to do with me."
His eyes flickered, and he suddenly said, "Besides, people are born free and have their own choices. I am locked up in the Liusha River and cannot stop their choices and decisions."
"What's more, they were personally chosen by the Buddhist sect. With their dual will, I can't shake them. But there is one thing I'm very confused about. What qualifications does the Buddhist sect have to personally choose others to go to the West to obtain the scriptures?"
Jigong remained silent.
He was also drunk and thought to himself that something bad was going to happen.
Shachen continued, "We are born free, so why do Buddhists dare to be so high and mighty and even speak the words of their own free will?"
"Besides, if everything is predetermined, why should it be blamed on me if something unexpected happens?!"
Ji Gong quickly said: "Buddha chose them because they have high hopes for them and want to give them a bright future."
Sha Chen said, "According to what Master said before about the candidates for the journey to the West, there are me, Tianpeng, Ao Lie, Sun Wukong, and of course, the most important one, Jin Chanzi."
"Master, how much benefit do you think Buddhism can bring us, and how bright a future can it bring us?"
Tianpeng, standing by, also looked unhappy and said, "That's right, what benefits can Buddhism bring us?"
Ji Gong said: "It can enable you to attain the status of a Bodhisattva, or even a Great Buddha, and it will allow you to reach a higher and deeper spiritual realm and gain true spiritual freedom."
Shachen laughed heartily and said, "How do you know we're not free now? We're free now, eating and drinking as we please. But will you still be able to eat, drink and have fun when you return to the West?"
Jigong remained silent.
Shachen continued, "As for the bodhisattva status promised to us, that would be a great humiliation to us. Do you think the bodhisattva status is worthy of us?"
With their strength, the position of Bodhisattva is indeed not suitable for them.
Ji Gong said: "Then you can attain the great Buddhahood."
Shachen asked, "Wouldn't it be a betrayal of Buddhism to grant the Great Buddha status? Buddhism places great importance on the Great Buddha position. Even you and Guanyin are not Great Buddhas yet, so how can we believe that you can become a Great Buddha?"
"I guess according to the Buddhist destiny, if the journey to the West is truly successful, there will be two great Buddhas. One of them will definitely be Jin Chanzi, which will simply allow him to return to the state he reached in his previous life. The other one will probably be the famous Monkey King Sun Wukong."
He chuckled and said, "We are just supporting characters. At most, we are Bodhisattvas, or even Arhats. Why do you think we are so despicable and willing to degenerate?"
Jigong was silent, yet his heart was shocked.
He knew that what Sha Chen said was true, because he was a high-ranking figure in Buddhism and the former abbot of the Arhat Hall.
He knew about the Buddhist arrangement of obtaining Buddhist scriptures.
From the beginning of the journey to the West and every link of the 81 disasters, there has been a plan, and therefore the Buddhist community began to fight for the cause and effect of the disasters.

It is impossible to wait until they have completed their merits and reached Lingshan before suddenly offering them rewards.
All these things need to be prepared in advance. Once Tathagata speaks and all the Buddhas agree, then it will be settled.
When the merit is complete, all prepared things will be taken out as rewards.
If there are variables during the period, the result will not change much.
Just like Shachen today, the Buddhist community actually still plans to make changes and will make an exception to give Shachen a great Buddha position.
There is no doubt about this.
As long as Sha Chen is willing, he can go to the Buddhist sect anytime and anywhere to compete for the position of a great Buddha, but for other people, such as Ao Lie and Tianpeng, there will not be too many variables.
Even though the two of them were already extremely powerful, they had already exceeded the Buddhist community's predictions.
