Tathagata said: "Turn hostility into friendship."
Sha Chen said, "Buddhism is a huge force, and the Buddha has boundless power. As long as the Buddha speaks, let alone turning hostility into friendship, even asking me to apologize is nothing."
Tathagata chuckled and said, "Fellow Daoist, you are joking. I came here to resolve the misunderstandings and grudges between us."
Shachen said, "Then let's drink a cup together and resolve our grievances. Then we can each go home and find our own mothers."
Then he raised the wine glass, but how could Tathagata pick up the wine glass in front of him?
He just smiled and said, "I don't eat or drink, I am practicing silent meditation, please forgive me!"
Sha Chen chuckled and said, "Whatever the Buddha says is true. I'll drink first as a token of my respect."
Then he drank it all in one gulp, then took the two cups of wine in front of Tathagata and the ancient Buddha, poured them into his mouth, and drank them all in one gulp.
His heroic look made Tathagata and the other two blush.
At the same time, they also understood that the table full of food and wine was probably really clean and there was nothing wrong with it.
It's just that they judge others by their own standards.
But now that things have come to this, they will not admit their mistakes, let alone admit that they are petty.
Shachen continued drinking and said, "What else is there to say now?"
"Have we resolved our grudge?"
Tathagata said: "You are right, my friend. A smile can end all grudges. We have resolved our grudges. Even if we are no longer friends, we are not enemies either."
Sha Chen laughed heartily and said, "It turns out that resolving grudges is so simple. A smile can wipe out all grudges."
"In that case, please go back. We have no grudges or hatred between us, and I don't want to continue to have in-depth discussions with you, so I won't keep you here."
Then he stood up and was about to return to the cave, which was also considered as seeing the guest off.
Tathagata and the other two stood up, but just stared at the dust, with no intention of leaving.
It was impossible for Shachen to open the cave door and go back in front of them, so he turned around and faced each other.
Shachen asked, "What's wrong? Are you two not full, or do you have something else to say?"
Tathagata said: "We are here not only to put aside our grudges with a smile, but also to hope that fellow Taoists can lend a helping hand to our Buddhist sect."
Sha Chen said, "The Buddha truly thinks highly of me. How can I, a mere fisherman, help the Buddhist sect?"
Tathagata said, "You are truly too self-deprecating, and you are truly bringing shame upon our Buddhist sect. Once you have acquired strength, you will be able to conquer the entire world. I'm afraid that no one except the saints will be your rival."
His eyes flickered, and he said with a smile: "Even if it's me, I'm afraid you don't take me seriously."
