Past Love (Part 2)

Past Love (Part 2)

"What are you drawing?" Jiang Liu walked quietly behind Yu Ran and pounced on his back.

Yu Ran subconsciously covered the table with the documents, "Write the new chapter of Momentum Like Water and Fire."

"You're still so diligent even though you update over 10,000 articles a day?" Jiang Liu grabbed her throat and let a kiss linger on her hair.

"You're already a fool. You can't be a lazy bum anymore. Otherwise, how can I support you?"

Yu Ran hooked his hand around his neck, pressed down deeply, and spun around. The two of them stumbled on all fours, even more than toddlers. Jiang Liu's knees hit the edge of the bed and he fell backwards, taking things as they came. In fact, it was Yu Ran who should be blamed for adding fuel to the fire.

Yu Ran thought, "It's a good thing I hid it just now." He stopped talking with a kiss.

"He was clearly drawing just now," Jiang Liu thought to himself, but did not expose him. He bit his cheek in dissatisfaction, and the kiss was very fierce.

"A global call for inspiration and design submissions for a world-class jewelry brand..." One day, Yu Ran saw this information online. Having no artistic talent, he thought he had sent it to the wrong person. The closing line of the call for submissions was quite touching: "Love at first sight, a masterpiece that will captivate the world."

Yu Ran was pulled back abruptly.

So, Yu Ran started writing with a positive and optimistic attitude. At worst, if it wasn't selected, a professional team would optimize it for free. At worst, Yu Ran could take the optimized manuscript and make a ring himself to propose to Jiang Liu!

I worked tirelessly, forgot to eat and sleep, and had a mountain of drafts. I finally finished it before the deadline, and the text supplements were also very detailed:

"Ring name: Star in Water.

Text analysis:

Four-pointed star: centered, gilded.

Two Möbius strips connect the left and right corners of the four-pointed star, each shaped like a four-pointed star. Fine edges are forged and hammered, with a hollow window technique and a gold cloisonné rim, filled with aquamarine and algae-green enamel drops. A four-pointed star is embedded between each loop. There are three on the front of the ring.

The back half of the ring is inscribed with a swastika pattern, symbolizing the everlasting vitality of water and its enduring blessings. The inner portion of the ring is inlaid with indigo, pale gold, and sunset red, creating a three-color cycle that symbolizes the interplay of the evening star and dusk reflected in the water. Because it is the back half of the ring, its orientation corresponds to the four-pointed star on the front, embodying the design concept of stars reflected in the water.

Along with the design draft were several photos of the two of them, each with a caption from Yu Ran.

"If I accidentally shatter the star lamp, the starlight will burst into an uproar and wander in my lover's eyes. That is not an accident, but a premeditated plan for love."

Finished! He mailed it out before the winter break in Country A ended. For the first time in his life, he felt like a loving father waiting for his son to return.

"How about we hold the wedding right after we graduate from our senior year?" Yu Ran felt confident. After all, there was still more than a year left, which was enough time to make the ring!

"Oh no!" Jiang Liu was completely blocked at that time.

"Why?" Yu Ran circled his fingers around the base of Jiang Liu's left ring finger and locked it in place.

"Not good is not good."

"Then let's get the certificate first."

"not good--"

"Then live together first."

"Tsk, no!"

"Then let's ask for a reward first!" Yu Ran rushed over, and no matter how Jiang Liu tried to resist, it was useless...

September 20th is Jiang Liu’s birthday.

The two people's universities are in different districts of the same city.

Yu Ran had already planned to drive to pick him up on his birthday and take him to the autumn banquet.

My hometown has a tradition of eating "four seasons banquets". The seasonal dishes are different in spring, summer, autumn and winter. In fact, the food is just one word: "fresh."

Autumn banquets are the most delicious. Osmanthus, chrysanthemums, and lilies are sweet and refreshing to the lungs, and they bloom more on the plate than on the fields in spring; matsutake mushrooms, jujube and chestnut cakes, stewed loquats, and fermented rice wine... Jiang Liu likes sweet food anyway, and such an exquisite and pleasing autumn banquet can best capture his heart.

After the autumn banquet, I took him to the temple to draw lots and pray for blessings. On the way down the mountain, we enjoyed the scenery and took photos while "picking autumn leaves". In the evening, we went for a walk and camping on the beach. Yu Ran prepared a small fireworks show...

"He will be happy!" Yu Ran felt ecstatic.

Yu Ran had already set out before Jiang Liu woke up. Anyway, today was an auspicious day, so he went out early and made a wish for an unexpected encounter.

When the car was halfway there, it passed by a trendy brand store. The model in the cabinet was wearing a punk style outfit. Yu Ran's eyes lit up and he thought Jiang Liu looked hundreds of times better in it than the model.

The shop assistant greeted the customer warmly and took a handful of things to recommend, including overalls, short tops, leather jackets, knitted cardigans, turbans and trouser drapes... She thought Yu Ran was buying them for herself.

Yu Ran couldn't take his eyes off the mirror and asked, "Does this really suit me?" At the time, his hair was growing long, not quite reaching the standard of a wolf's tail, but neither too long nor too short, which somehow felt very refreshing. He didn't feel that it was a perfect fit.

"Yes, sir, only your temperament can interpret the essence of this suit!"

It's true that Yu Ran likes her, but she prefers to pack up a little symbol of herself and give it to Jiang Liu.

Of course, nothing compares to another gift...

"Is there a hanging iron? I'll iron it." Yu Ran knew that Jiang Liu loved beauty, and maybe she would change it directly when the time came and iron it to kill bacteria and remove mites.

I was happily driving halfway when the phone rang. It was not my lover calling, but an unfamiliar number.

I answered the phone on speakerphone. "Hello, is this Mr. Yu Ran? This is Qingshi Jewelry. Your design for Star in the Water has been adopted by the design team. We look forward to further communication with you!"

"What time?"

"Today." A short, leisurely, unhurried joy.

The autumn sun shone brightly outside the car window, and time-sensitive words echoed in the car. The voice was hoarse, and it seemed a little distorted with the passage of time.

"Not today, why didn't you let me know earlier?"

"Sorry, sir. It just so happens that a team of designers is staying in this city for an inspection. They saw your submission just before leaving today and immediately contacted you."

"Next time, I can wait. If they are in a hurry, they can go back first. Otherwise, let's add WeChat to communicate, it will be more convenient." Yu Ran looked straight ahead, overtaking, and driving under the speed limit. His tone was in contrast to the speed of the car, and he was calm.

The design team was quite surprised. They kept emphasizing the importance of timing and trying to overcome the difficult reasons through the screen - but they still failed.

"Mr. Yu Ran, I have to emphasize that due to your personal reasons, the construction of the ring will be delayed."

"No problem, thank you."

After hanging up the phone, Yu Ran came back to his senses. The car had been parked on the side of the road for safety reasons, which had already wasted a lot of time.

Hurrying to the destination, a white-backed golden cat was stepping on Jiang Liu's shadow, making the roasted leaves crispy. Jiang Liu was squatting in the shade of the tree with a smile on his face, glowing freely.

The cat shrank and hid in the fallen leaves. Jiang Liu felt a heat and a sinking sensation on his back.

"Sorry for the long wait, darling... Happy birthday~"

Jiang Liu shrugged in vain, avoiding the kiss and said dissatisfiedly, "You scared the kitten away."

"Is it wrong to be late or to scare the kitten away?"

"The crime is even more serious."

So, Yu Ran spent ten minutes coaxing the kitten out. Wu Dian Jin ate the cat food and purred as he nestled in his lap.

So, Yu Ran used more tricks to get this living Buddha off Jiang Liu's legs...

"Are you angry?" Yu Ran was face to face with the other person and was observing him very carefully.

"No, I was worried that something might have happened to you on the road. I sent you a message but you didn't reply. I didn't dare to call you knowing you were driving."

"Thanks, darling. I was going to teach you a trick on how to vent your anger."

Jiang Liu was in high spirits, but when his questioning proved fruitless, he pretended to be angry.

Yu Ran gently took his hand and said, "Pinch my nose." He felt that the other party just pressed it lightly.

As Jiang Liu withdrew his hand, Yu Ran let out a series of long sighs and groans, then shrank back tremblingly, saying in a sharp voice, "Alright, you've let my anger out, so don't get angry yourself!"

"Tell me, who taught you this move, and who have you used it on before?" You're so skilled?!

"No, I swear to God, it's only you!"

"Oh, then how can I cheer you up?" Jiang Liu felt it was very funny, especially since his dantian was oppressed and the tone of his voice was lingering in his forehead, like an amateur singing.

Yu Ran was delighted and jumped up eagerly, raising his hands to hug him. Jiang Liu quickly ran to the front of the car and shook the car keys.

Yu Ran was afraid that Jiang Liu would see the surprise too early, so he ran to the car, which was already locked. He knocked on the window and said, "Baby, I'll open it."

After a while, Jiang Liu half-lowered the car window, revealing a pair of eyes, "Change clothes~"

Hearing this, Yu Ran's heart wanted to deafen himself and then escape from his throat.

Finally climbing into the car, this outfit was perfect. A tan pullover knit with mesh the size of beads, revealing the figure wrapped in a tight vest. There were several rips at the waist and abdomen, but no blood flowed out, and the abdominal muscles were intact, proving the owner's youth and health.

He tied up his long hair, and the leopard-dot headscarf was half a hood, cleverly tucking his hair into a bun.

Yu Ran was thinking about giving Jiang Liu a hairpin next time. The effect of her hair up would be absolutely amazing. At that moment, a white shadow appeared.

Looking closely, it turned out to be a pair of black wide-leg pants. However, starting from the hip, the side seams of the pants legs were wide open, and the two pieces of curtains were tied together with jingling silver ropes. The thighs were faintly visible, and the calves and ankles were all white, like the winding white jade veins in the black ore.

“Why are these pants like this…” Yu Ran covered them with his hand.

"Isn't this your style?" Jiang Liu glanced at him indifferently, swung his legs, and listened for the sound.

"I like the homely boyfriend style." Yu Ran said deliberately.

"Then wear it yourself. I like this."

The next second, Yu Ran angrily tugged the silver rope tighter, feeling much more at ease...

After the autumn banquet, we drew fortune sticks and prayed for blessings, enjoyed the scenery and took photos. The autumn wind blew, and we shivered. The night was getting cooler.

Yu Ran gave the matching leather jacket to the other person to avoid the cold at the beach.

The seashore is windy, with black waves, white sand, and foamy salt water. Day and night, I compose music for the harbor, repeating only one ancient and long tune: "Hua-Hua-"

"Ouch!" Jiang Liu stepped on the sand barefoot and was hit by something. He lifted his foot and picked it up. It turned out to be a colorful shell. He gathered his strength and threw it out. It floated far away in the water.

Yu Ran held up his shoes and slippers, "Put on the slippers?"

"don't want."

"Then I'll carry you."

When Jiang Liu thought about the scene, he felt that there was a kind of simple romance in the funny scene: a small fishing village, a quiet sea, one person carrying another on his back, walking towards the dark sky with the friendly lights behind.

The lights ahead were really nice and there was even some noise. I went up to see pairs of young men and women chatting away:

"Didn't you say there were fireworks tonight? You lied!"

"Wait a little longer, dear. If you're sleepy, lean on me and take a nap."

Another boy said, "We asked the campground manager, but they said they didn't know. I heard it was a proposal."

"Hehe, you guys are the best at lying!" another girl said angrily.

"Not necessarily..." Yu Ran leaned over to Jiang Liu's ear and whispered.

Jiang Liu asked, "Is it not necessarily that he will let it go, or is it that men are not necessarily deceitful?"

"I won't lie to you."

The next second, several golden flowers bloomed in the inky black night sky. Because the water and the sky met, the beautiful fireworks seemed to soar up from the sea and into the sky. The momentum seemed to be as bright as the stars, the moon, the beacon, and the lighthouse.

How gorgeous and breathtaking.

After the flowers bloom, the sky turns white. Some people say that they can pick stars and dig the moon for their love, but no one claims that they can change day and night and replace the dark sky with the glory of day.

The breathtaking fireball and the residual heat of the scorching sun fell into Jiang Liu's pupils:

"Happy birthday, September 20th, baby!"

Fireworks are like this, Yu Ran said in a gentle voice.

"A birthday present for you."

The next second, the shining key on a necklace made the fireworks look ashamed.

"Which lock did you open?" Jiang Liu was stunned.

"Which one do you hope it will open?" Yu Ran kept it a secret, but he couldn't help himself.

"I only want your heart. That's already very greedy." Jiang Liu hugged him in his arms.

"Zhongshan Road, Shop 107. You said your parents forced you to study finance. In your future, all you want is three meals a day, four seasons a year, two people, and a small shop selling flowers, umbrellas, incense... anything."

Jiang Liu was completely speechless.

Yu Ran felt his lips pressed against her collarbone, her sobs intermittent, like playing a harmonica.

"How...are you so nice...?"

"Don't thank me, just give me a higher salary in the future, Boss..."
