Sweet Night Dreams
After Yu Lei finished her shower, she brought some hangover medicine and warm water. "Why don't you take a shower? I'll take care of him."
Yu Ran took it and let his sister go to rest, with an expression that looked like a child who was too playful and a parent who had to deal with the aftermath. He looked a little fierce, but not the kind of fierceness that made him unable to distinguish between the big and small kings.
Yu Lei patted his shoulder.
Deeper and stiller. In this house, four breaths emanate: three dream, two in unison. Mother and sister make no noise, assimilated into the still, blue night. Thus, Jiang Liu and Yu Ran are the last two people left in the world, alone here, forever tumbling into a boundless black hole.
"Jiang Liu, take the medicine and you'll feel better. Feeling like throwing up?" He poured small pills into his palm. If there were too many, he'd pour them back into the bottle, leaving only two. In movies and TV series, the two protagonists would hold a "Heartbreaking Pill" and a "Heartbreaking Powder," swallowing them to sever the sea of love and hatred. But now, the situation was different. Jiang Liu greedily took two pills, having a muddy dream of wine to filter.
Yu Ran lifted the man's head from the pillow, and held his hair with his arm, holding his inner shoulder. Jiang Liu groaned in pain, his hair feeling uncomfortable from being pressed, and he forgot to close his lips, and his head tilted to the side.
Yu Ran had to support his shoulders and cushion his head, while his other hand was always holding the medicine open to prevent it from falling. Two hands were not enough for these three things.
He simply took off his coat and got on the bed, wrapping his chest around Jiang Liu's back and pinching her cheeks with his freed hands. Jiang Liu nodded randomly, meaning no. Yu Ran simply tilted his head, resting it on the side Jiang Liu always leaned towards, and then he struggled to feed her the medicine.
The water is even harder to drink.
Yu Ran wanted to pour the water from the large cup into the small teacup so that he could sip it in small sips. Just as he was about to move his chest to get out of bed, Jiang Liu complained: "Don't leave, please."
"I'll get you a cup of water."
"Just feed it like this..."
"How do you feed me?" Yu Ran kept her cheeks pressed against his, and put her ear close to his lips, trying to catch the breath of swallowing. Who would have thought that Jiang Liu would really suck on the earlobe as if it were the rim of a cup, and even thought that the cup kept moving away and wanted to hold it with his teeth.
A touch of moisture beside his ear conducted electricity. Yu Ran wanted to escape but the current was too strong. The numbness in his bones paralyzed all his senses.
Yu Ran felt like he was dying for a moment.
"Jiang Liu... do you still know who you are?" Yu Ran rubbed his hair back, intending to make him stop because of the itch, but the overall look was clearly a pair of long-haired lion cats rubbing against each other to show their goodwill.
Jiang Liu tied his hair in his mouth, entangled with his eager lips and tongue, and swallowed his words when speaking, "I know, I am, a friend..." His lips lingered, and he felt chest tightness and shortness of breath.
Jiang Liu was clinging to her passionately, but he was weak after all because of the alcohol, and the pills had a calming and hypnotic effect. He finally kissed the wet cheek goodbye - the butterfly flapped its wings and flew away because it had eaten enough honey.
Yu Ran took the opportunity to move aside, laid the person's body flat and raised his head, and considerately took out all the long hair to avoid it from being crushed.
When he walked out of the room, Yu Lei happened to be standing at the door.
"I just remembered later that the mouth of the cup is too wide to feed. I'll give you a teacup. If that doesn't work, take this." Yu Lei held a teacup in one hand and a needleless syringe in the other.
"What do you want to get? I'll get it for you." she asked him.
"No, this is exactly what I want. Thanks, sis."
With Yu Ran's magic weapon in hand, he was confident of victory. He held the half-full teacup in his palm and raised it to his mouth.
"Drink water, ah——"
Jiang Liu unintentionally but deliberately pressed his lips into a line, "I just drank."
Yu Ran's face flushed, and he was helpless. His memory was quite good when he was drunk, but it was better not to be so good—not to remember what he had done to his subordinates.
"That little bit is not enough." Yu Ran pressed the white porcelain cup against a row of pearly teeth, but couldn't pry it open.
Jiang Liu disliked the teacup being too hard and icy, and swore to die. After a long while, he finally said, "Then I want to drink it. Just now, that..."
Yu Ran was quick-witted and took advantage of the moment his lips opened and closed to force the liquid down his throat...
Jiang Liu was probably stunned. Although the water didn't taste as good as the original, it did quench his thirst. He no longer acted stubbornly. Yu Ran smoothly fed him several cups.
If he drinks the last drink, he might as well just hold it and suck its blood. Yu Ran is already too embarrassed to live anyway.
The job was done. Yu Ran used paper to wipe his neck and remove the loose hair there. That area was red and hot, so he took a comb to help comb the long hair smooth.
There’s no way I’m going to change these clothes, Yu Ran thought.
So, where should I sleep tonight?
Sleeping on the sofa? It’s not a big deal if there is no bedding. But if Yu Qionglin wakes up in the morning and sees her son sleeping on the sofa like this, she will be heartbroken.
You should go take a shower first to lower your high blood pressure.
I took a quick shower, but unexpectedly Jiang Liu turned over to the side of the bed while sleeping. There was still room for another person to sleep on the other side of the bed.
Isn't it just sleeping in the same bed with your boss? Isn't this kind of thing very common when on business trips? Why do you become indecisive and shy when it's your turn?
He crawled into bed, and Jiang Liu's remaining warmth immediately embraced him. They both had long hair, but Jiang Liu's was longer. Sleeping in a single bed together would inevitably cause them to get tangled and squeezed. What should he do? Yu Ran looked at Jiang Liu's back, picked up his long hair, and hastily braided it into a pigtail.
Hiss, one rubber band is still missing.
Where was the ribbon that Jiang Liu usually tied her hair with? Yu Ran just remembered that he didn't seem to have seen it along the way.
He still held the ends of his hair tightly in his hands.
After taking a shower, the sleepiness was even worse than the alcohol, and Yu Ran really didn't have the energy to think. After all, it wasn't him who lost it, so there was no need to worry about it. As for the braid in his hand, he simply twisted the end of the hair around his fingers, then tucked it up a little bit into his palm. That way, the hair would not fall apart at all.
However, in this case, he had to lie in the same direction as Jiang Liu so as not to be restricted by the hand gestures.
Anyway, don't even think about turning your back and ignoring your boss.
…
The morning light at dawn failed to penetrate the curtains and drapes but resonated with Jiang Liu's biological clock.
His head didn't hurt much, just his eyelids were heavy; his limbs had just been introduced to each other last night, and the adjustment period had not yet passed, so he felt very unfamiliar with serving the same body. He supported himself with his hands for a long time, and his buttocks and legs were too stupid to find the point of force. His feet were randomly scratching on the quilt, and he complained about the stiffness of his waist.
All he could do now was open his eyes. He saw the taut ceiling, a glimmer of hope between the cracks in the curtains, the gentle breeze and bird calls weaving a splendid morning veil...
Jiang Liu would rather the world be destroyed. If it wasn't destroyed, could he remove the stain from last night with the precision of splitting a thread and arranging a needle? Even if it was destroyed, he would take a shower first.
Feeling his strength slowly returning, he threw off the covers and got out of bed. Unexpectedly, someone was still holding the end of his hair. He slowly tried to pull it out.
Yu Ran was awakened by the subtle movement. "...Sorry." He let go. The end of the hair, having been entangled for so long, spun a few times in his palm when he released it, and the curvy lines didn't return to their original shape quickly.
"I'm the one who should apologize and thank you, really. Thank you, Yu Ran, I'm sorry for causing you trouble." Jiang Liu rubbed his face, and his long hair fluttered.
He went into the bathroom to take a shower, took off his clothes, and stood there naked, only to then remember that he hadn't brought any clean clothes with him...
I turned on the shower, the gurgling heat burning my skin, using it to fight poison with poison, to quell the urge to burst my heart. When my pores dilated, the thrilling feeling seemed to completely clear away all the timidity, hesitation, and hesitation.
Hot water filled Jiang Liu's mouth. He spit it all out while sobbing, and then licked his tears. The tears pickled his taste buds with a scorching salty taste.
Why is the ending already decided, but the plot changes?
Why does belated friendship have to awaken his dead heart to the same rhythm as his heart?
Why can Yu Ran, who doesn't love him, still offer tenderness ignorantly, fearlessly and without asking for anything in return? The tenderness that shines on Jiang Liu makes him even more afraid of the future loneliness.
Where should he go now?
After crying, his bad mood evaporated like the steam. He walked around the bathroom with his bare feet clacking, looking for a towel.
I really can’t call Yu Ran anymore, let him sleep.
Unexpectedly, just as the sound of water stopped, Yu Ran's voice came from the door: "Jiang Liu, I put the clothes here for you."
Jiang Liu tied up the bath towel and went to open the door. Yu Ran just stood up. The two looked at each other. There was no hook in their eyes, and they untied it in an instant.
Jiang Liu took his clothes into the bathroom to change, then returned to the room. He plugged in the hair dryer and placed it on the table while Yu Ran was shaking the quilt.
"Aren't you going to sleep? It's still early. I can wait until you wake up before drying your hair."
"It's okay, I'm just looking for your hairband. You should blow it up soon."
"Oh." Jiang Liu's hands, feet, and hair were wet as he tried to turn on the hair dryer. Yu Ran got there first, swearing he'd accepted his fate. "Grandpa, sit down and I'll blow your hair!"
The whistling warm wind sounds like crying and complaining.
Jiang Liu hadn't slept well last night, and now he felt even more lazy. With someone taking care of him, he felt relaxed both physically and mentally, and before he knew it, he fell asleep with his legs crossed.
It took an hour to completely blow dry this long hair. However, Yu Ran himself had long hair and knew how to take care of it, so it didn't seem too difficult.
It was already seven in the morning when they finished playing. Jiang Liu was fast asleep. Yu Ran didn't blame him, but sympathized with his hard work. After all, Yu Lei must have been the cause of last night's absurd incident.
He could guess with his eyes closed that the two must have run into each other in the elevator. Yu Lei was excited to see her best friend, and grateful for the success of the interview that helped her get a promotion and a raise, so she dragged him out for a drink to celebrate.
He never expected that the nonsense he told Jiang Yu that day about "the elder brother paying off his younger brother's debt" would happen to him - the younger brother paying off his elder sister's debt.
Someone knocked on the door, and Yu Lei called softly.
Yu Ran opened the door. She was already dressed up, looking radiant and completely recovered from her hangover.
"Your breakfast is ready, here. I'll send Mom out early. Is Jiang Liu okay?"
He told her about his bath, took the breakfast, and thought his sister was a teachable child.
One person devoured breakfast for two people in a hurry. Last night was an extremely tiring night, but looking at Jiang Liu's face which was so pale that even a blush could not be seen, it was not surprising at all.
He got up and made breakfast for Jiang Liu.
Jiang Liu slept until noon. It seemed that no more drunken dreams were trying to haunt him.
After shaking his head, he was completely back to normal!
Jiang Liu finished his lunch with gratitude, and for the first time ever said, "Let him wash the dishes next!"
"Just put it in the dishwasher." Yu Ran's brain froze, and it took him a while to realize what Jiang Liu had said and what he had replied. He didn't hold out any hope.
"Yeah! Yeah! Yeah, and... leave dinner to me!"
Yu Ran didn't wear glasses, otherwise ten pairs of glasses would not be enough to make him fall.
