Chapter 110 Pegasus



After tidying up and returning the abandoned temporary shelter to its original state, making sure nothing was left behind, I held the barely muscular boy in front of me for protection. I also made Annie, who wanted to act tough, sit properly to avoid falling. Only then did I pat the neck of the Pegasus beneath me, signaling that it was ready to set off.

With a neigh from Hilulu, accompanied by the clattering of its feet and the flapping of its fully extended wings, after a brief sway, we soon rode the Pegasus into the air.

Maintaining balance on horseback without a saddle and stirrups is indeed challenging, but manageable. The surrounding environment, however, is more captivating.

Unlike the feeling of looking around from the airship, the wind was slightly stronger and the view in front of me was exceptionally wide because there was not much obstruction. The trees and grasslands passing below were also clearly visible.

Every now and then, carnivorous predators could be seen darting past below, chasing after antelopes or deer that were fleeing rapidly ahead. Pikas, leisurely munching on grass, stood up blankly and looked around. Startled birds circled around, then circled back towards their nests again...

"Wow! Mr. Yumi! Those kids from before are following us too!"

Hikari's surprised cry rang out not far away. The wind carried away most of her voice, leaving only a few echoes reverberating in the air, but at least with her effort, I could clearly make out what she said.

Without even looking back, we could tell that the Pegasus we had seen before was flying behind us.

It was indeed a magnificent sight. Like a white cloud hanging low to the ground, moving rapidly toward a certain point, or like a large expanse of white foam rising from the surging waves of a high tide, this astonishing movement would be easily noticed by anyone with eyes in the mountains. If someone had even more keen eyesight, they might have noticed us, riding on the backs of those celestial horses, surrounded by them.

But that's not the time to focus on those things.

I suppressed my emotions and, while comparing them with the map I had memorized, pointed the way for the Pegasus beneath me.
