"Hurry up! I don't want to stay in this dangerous place any longer," Annie urged us from ahead. "I have a bad feeling about this."
"Didn't you claim you were going to explore the dragon's nest? How come you've become such a coward just because you saw a lump?"
"Times have changed! Stop talking nonsense!"
The brief banter eased the tense atmosphere, and soon, after restraining our needs sufficiently, we resumed our silent, stealthy advance.
Because we've taken an extra short detour, the route we need to traverse now is significantly longer than initially planned, with a rough estimate of over ten kilometers more.
Fortunately, the basin itself is an irregular, nearly circular shape with varying elevations. If one is willing to risk traversing the shortest path in some areas, it is not impossible to save time.
It's unclear whether the Pegasus will cooperate or stubbornly choose to take the long detour.

"That's the most powerful creature on this continent in legend..."
A low, familiar sigh echoed through the ranks, seemingly from someone unknown.
I looked back and saw that all three of them were gazing at the basin in the distance, their eyes sparkling with surprise and the joy of witnessing it firsthand.
Even Miyuki was moved for a moment, but quickly composed herself and once again vigilantly observed her surroundings.
"We cannot be careless, we..."
She whispered a reminder, her expression suddenly tightening as she abruptly drew her icy longsword.
I belatedly sensed something was amiss.
The flow of magic was originally chaotic yet calm, but suddenly it changed, converging towards a certain point.
Before I could even track the direction where the magic was converging, a deafening roar came from very close by.
"roar--!!!"
