The questions he asked right from the start were the kind that seemed impossible to answer.
And the facts proved my premonition correct:
The demon [Mephisto] smiled and narrowed his eyes, waving his hand while creating a noticeable distance between himself and the sword demon: "Your question is too general, and it might involve core corporate secrets of our demonic core, so we cannot answer it."
However, he quickly added another sentence.
However, I can vaguely tell you that while we can certainly manipulate the main questline, ultimately, it is not us who decides its existence, and it never will be.
"Is there someone even higher up behind you?"
[...I suggest you think about this carefully before telling me: Is this your second question?]
Faced with the demon's smile, the sword demon fell into a brief silence.
Seeing this, Sheng interjected, "We need to obtain the key information that can crack the tenth mission."
[Mephisto] turned his crimson vertical pupils and nodded slightly: "Yes, that's a reasonable request."
Unfortunately, I've never enjoyed watching uninteresting storylines unfold, so all I can tell you is this: [Sylphid], the target, remains within your reach, and her current condition isn't good.
This sounds like complete nonsense.
Within reach, how close is it exactly, or do we need to walk a little further out?
We don't know how many safe zones remain in the vicinity, or if the people we're looking for exist there. We might even have to deal with the strange religious organizations that have been around in the area before. It's like finding a needle in a haystack.
As for the guy named [Hilfider] not being in good health... to be honest, that's as good as saying nothing at all.
Even though I know very little about the outside world, I can clearly understand that it is undoubtedly difficult to survive healthily in the current environment. Even in the safe zone of the spirit user Ayase, the number of injured people is still quite large, and it will not be reduced much by the presence of powerful assistance.
But now, we can only follow this clue to find it.
We've already wasted two questions, and while we don't know if the devil [Mephisto] will stick to the "only answer three questions" rule, we must think about it with that in mind.
The silence continued. Sword Demon seemed to be reflecting on his earlier question, while Sheng racked his brains trying to figure out how to reasonably expand their existing advantages.
[Mephisto] looked down at us with a good mood, examining his fingernails and humming a little tune.
However, if we can't figure out how to maximize our benefits, are there other ways to approach it?
Thinking this through, and amidst the surprised looks of the other two, I took a step forward, took a deep breath, and opened my mouth.
