Chapter 202 A Short Rest in the Small Garden

Chapter 202 A Short Rest in the Small Garden

A little ahead.

My long-awaited trip has finally come to an end.

After briefly chatting with everyone in the miniature garden and receiving a reply, I casually returned Ai'an to Ms. Juliana's side. Once again, I completely relaxed in the miniature garden.

It's not that we haven't considered going to the front lines to help.

However, when she brought up the matter with the headmaster, she was told by Ms. Juliana, who looked exhausted and was rubbing her temples, that the fighting on the front lines had basically ended.

"Did the year end so quickly?"

Somewhat surprised, I sat down in the guest seat, thanked the assistant, and without any hesitation, grabbed the chocolate chip cookies from the table and quickly chewed them with my black tea.

"Don't tell me you don't believe it; there are many skeptical voices even in academia."

Leaning back in the soft chair, with his eyes slightly closed, the headmaster's voice sounded like he was talking in his sleep: "Some people believe that this is because the previous accident consumed most of the beast tide's manpower, which is why the attack was shortened and the force was insufficient."

"Another group of people believe that this is because a more advanced and intelligent leader has emerged among the monsters for the first time. After the probing attacks proved ineffective, it forcibly suppressed the sweeping horde of beasts, making them suppress their ferocity and wait for the defenders to relax their guard."

I tentatively asked, "So what's the conclusion?"

"They argued incessantly, without reaching a conclusion."

Juliana sighed: "However, there are currently two proposed solutions: send small teams to explore deep into the restricted area to confirm the movement of the beast tide and the possible reasons for its changes, or jointly send a large number of reorganized troops to steadily recover the lost territory."

"Don't even think about it, the latter is most likely impossible."

Even with limited contact, and even though some wise rulers did emerge among them, the politicians who occupied the majority of seats still prioritized their own interests: "When external threats are temporarily eliminated, their greatest skill is infighting, seizure, and plunder, rather than uniting with each other to recreate their former glory."

However, the dean didn't respond to that, but just glanced at me, picked up his teacup and took a small sip: "More than that, I want to know where your mentor is right now."

Has the supervisor secretly disappeared again?

I glanced behind me, puzzled, wondering if that crazy female teacher would see me. Anyway, it wasn't my business where she went to play.

Anyway, the celebration day this year is February 1st, and the academy has some activities planned. Remember to come back to class on the first Monday after the holiday.

"Oh, I still have so much work to do. I won't see you out."

He yawned again, and before I could object, the dean slowly moved back to his desk and buried himself once more in the mountain of files.

"I really don't want to go to class..."

I casually tossed aside my notebook, lightly pushed off the ground, leaned back, and stared blankly at the dazzling magic stone lamps overhead.

Having grown accustomed to a relaxed and leisurely lifestyle, it's only natural that I don't want to go back to being restricted, especially since I used to skip classes to study regularly and had long been used to a carefree life.

However, within the college, only the last semester is different.

In the words of past graduates, this is called the final hurdle on the road to graduation. The most important thing is how the teachers in the college feel about a student, as well as the completion and evaluation of the final graduation project.

Those students who are familiar to the teachers and leave the best impression, and who have completed the practical exercises, will naturally receive higher additional evaluations. Otherwise, unless there are special circumstances in the practical exercises that can really shock the teachers, or they perform exceptionally well in the presentation, most students can only accumulate scores by adding or subtracting from the baseline score, barely getting a score that is neither high nor low, just barely passing the excellent mark.

In addition, there are occasional special announcements that require temporary changes to the assessment criteria due to unforeseen circumstances during class. This is a special period where even those who are usually carefree and irresponsible have to be extremely careful.

The only good news is that most students only need to attend one large class every Monday, which is the only class for all graduates. The rest of the time is for self-study, which is barely tolerable.

I glanced at the calendar; there were less than three days left until February 1st.

"This year's Victory Day is February 1st."

Hikari, who was nimbly parting the plump flower buds, was also staring at the calendar, her face thoughtful: "It's much earlier than in previous years."

What is that?

Anne carefully examined the petals, making sure there were no signs of insect damage, and then turned to look at her.

"It's to celebrate the day we drove those terrible beasts out of our homes!"

Hikari replied with a smile, "I remember once when I was little, I went to a neighboring town with my parents. It happened to be during a festival, and the whole town was decorated with lanterns and colorful decorations. There were people everywhere, and there were delicious pastries and malt candy skewers. I begged them to buy some. Even now, I can still recall that sweet taste from time to time."

Annie frowned, pouted, and whispered, "The malt candy skewers aren't tasty."

"I think it's actually not bad."

"But it doesn't taste like anything, and it always just clumps together in my mouth, no matter how hard I bite it..." Annie looked away, "And, and it even broke one of my teeth... No, nothing like that!"

"Hoo~ Of course, it's also possible that it was because I hadn't eaten anything special back then, so it tasted delicious."
