Chapter 214 Getting Ready to Go

What? What's going on? What happened?

Three question marks popped into my head.

The little girl, whose figure had become petite again, comfortably draped her long, silky hair over my arm, smiling with narrowed eyes: "It's alright, my dear disciple. Just think of it as a trip to broaden your horizons. Nothing serious will happen."

If someone else had said this, I might have believed it, but coming from you, it's not just about reliability; the very possibility of it actually happening is questionable.

"Of course, to prevent you from getting lost, and to prevent you from being overcharged by locals because you are a stranger, I have also arranged for a local to be your guide."

As she spoke, she suddenly raised her hand and snapped her fingers.

Just then, the restaurant door was opened from the outside.

The icy female swordsman, covered in sweat and gently wiping herself with a towel hanging around her neck, slowly walked in from the outer corridor: "Phew...you're up?"

His icy blue gaze swept over me, then landed on Alice as if he wanted to say something, before suddenly looking away and falling silent.

Even though they had never met face-to-face before, the mere presence of the mentor seemed to possess a certain oppressive quality. As a result, almost the instant Miyuki noticed the mentor's presence, she changed her stance and switched to a defensive-offensive mode.

"What a perceptive little fellow."

The mentor chuckled and tilted her head, her ear brushing against her arm, directing her gaze over the food on the table toward the door: "When I deliberately chose to conceal my presence, it's remarkable that others, let alone take a defensive stance the instant they become aware of me, are even aware of my existence. This is enough to show that her perception is exceptionally good and outstanding."

The second half of my mentor's sentence was clearly directed at me.

Hmm... I didn't really feel that way. Sometimes I wonder if my advisor was exaggerating a bit. After all, whether or not I actively try to keep my presence to myself, my advisor's appearance is always a very noticeable event for me. It's like someone suddenly lighting a torch and waving it around in the dark, making it hard not to notice.

However, there's no need to voice opposition at this time.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the long table, Miyuki remained vigilant, but she seemed much more relaxed than before, clearly noticing that I hadn't expressed any displeasure with my mentor's presence or actions.

"Who are you?"

She spoke softly, her eyes narrowing warily, like a cheetah about to pounce on its prey, her upper body slightly bent forward.

However, judging from the fact that she did not directly draw the longsword from her waist, either she was very confident in her existing, still somewhat crude, air blade technique, or she was generally quite restrained.

I personally think it's the latter.

The mentor remained calm and unhurried, pointing at me with one hand: "If you want to know my identity, then I must be the mentor of my dear disciple."

The icy blue eyes moved closer, revealing a questioning look.

Alice chimed in, "That's right. So it's alright, Miyuki, you don't need to be wary. Lady [Full-Time Witch] is our honored guest."

The female swordsman remained silent for a moment, then nodded slightly and slowly composed herself.

However, she still did not make any further moves, neither leaving nor approaching. She simply pulled up a chair at a distance, sat down steadily, and silently watched this side.

This makes me feel somewhat uncomfortable.

Just as I had predicted, my appetite vanished instantly, and the food that was once quite delicious now tasted like chewing wax.

I've never been comfortable with being stared at while eating, let alone when everyone's attention is focused on me—or rather, on my mentor who's sitting across my lap. So I just quickly ate a few more bites, roughly finished my plate, then drank some water to clean my mouth, trying to hide my expression, and casually asked, "Mentor, is everyone here now?"

"Hmm, of course. I've been waiting for you to finish eating."

My mentor smiled and looked at me: "What if my dear disciple accidentally upsets his stomach? But remember next time, you must get up and have breakfast properly, otherwise it will also put a burden on your stomach."

I nodded and said, "I've finished eating now. So, what are we going to do this time?"

"Didn't I tell you before that I wanted you to go to the Frozen Snow City?"

The mentor glanced at me and Shen Xue, who had suddenly frozen in shock. Then, seeing some people behind him raising their hands with fawning smiles and asking questions, he also looked up at her, which could be considered as acknowledgment: "As for what exactly will happen and what we will encounter, I believe that as a local guide, you should know better than I do."

She was referring to Miyuki.

I was dumbfounded: "Is it over just like that? Before, there were at least some specific mission objectives or a medium that needed to be delivered."

"Anyway, everything will develop naturally. It's just that because of your involvement, some people's fates may be changed." The mentor seemed to be gazing into the distance. "This is a good thing for me, so that some people won't come to me crying and complaining, or do something extreme. It would be too troublesome to clean up the mess, and it would also spoil my mood."

As she spoke, she waved her hand, as if to brush away those unpleasant images.
