The vines that had been binding me loosened their hold, bowed humbly several times, then twisted their bodies and pointed towards the direction of the stone steps before quickly disappearing into the ground, vanishing without a trace.
I quickly realized that this place, which I had arrived at through that long corridor, was a gap hidden between reality and illusion, or rather, a temporary sandbox form that did not have a complete cycle.
I happened to have seen it in a reference book, so it wasn't unfamiliar to me. It's a type that focuses more on specific functions than general applicability.
"What's going on?"
A confused voice came from behind. Even the most knowledgeable loner was momentarily bewildered.
"I'm not sure, but it seems they want us to get to the center of the flower field first."
"This is clearly a trap."
"...You came along even though it was a trap?"
"Take it one step at a time. If we encounter a problem, we'll just cut it down."
That's quite an impressive ability to adjust mentally. It seems the swordswoman has fully recovered her spirits.
Soon, we arrived at the small table and chairs that were less than half our height. On the table were only a stack of fruits of various colors and three cups of equally exquisite emerald green tea. Judging by the smell alone, they were probably made from a mixture of various herbs and leaves.
Before we could do anything more or have any discussion, a soft voice sounded in front of us:
"Thank you both for accepting my invitation."
"This place is my otherworld. You may call me a flower fairy, or [flower spirit]."
"Welcome to my [garden]."
The petite fairy floated gracefully in mid-air, lifting her slender, flower-like skirt in a graceful gesture. Beneath the half-concealed mask, a shy, ladylike smile curved her lips.
