Chapter 35 Entrance

"There's also a room inside that looks like a kitchen."

After a short wait, Shen Xue emerged from inside, nodding slightly to indicate that it was safe, but still tilting her head to examine the old house with some doubt: "Apart from some strange personal belongings, there are almost no problems with the overall structure or details. As for the interior furnishings, it feels like it once belonged to a hunter, but there doesn't seem to be any reason for such an environment to exist nearby."

"I wonder why that flower fairy wanted to bring you here."

“I didn’t notice any particularly unusual magical fluctuations either.” I shrugged. “In fact, they’re everywhere around here, but the area around this little house is the calmest place.”

Could a place in a lake full of echoes suddenly fall into dead silence?

As she muttered to herself thoughtfully, Miyuki subconsciously stepped aside, but then her eyes widened suddenly: "Wait, don't come any closer—"

She seemed to suddenly notice something, and abruptly turned around to grab my hand that was behind her.

However, her reminder was a step too late.

Just as I stepped over the threshold of the old house, the space in front of me was like the surface of water tossed with a pebble, instantly rippling with scale-like waves. Then, as if struck by an external force, the thin glass shattered and cracked instantly, breaking into countless small pieces on the ground.

In the blink of an eye, I found myself in a place completely different from where I had been before.

No longer are they rotten wooden planks that crack when stepped on; the fresh scent of soil and vegetation fills the air, solid ground lies beneath your feet, and before you lies a lush garden that feels somewhat familiar.

The weight pressing down on me suddenly disappeared, and I didn't see Shen Xue reaching out her hand to me in a hurry.

Turning her head to look at the spot beside her where the magical reaction was strongest, the small figure floated in mid-air, a slight smile playing on the corner of her half-hidden mouth.

"Hey! You've finally arrived!"

The flower fairy circled around and floated to a stop in front of me, proudly putting her hands on her hips: "Hmph, the timing is perfect, all my elaborate decorations were worth it."

My look of astonishment was quickly concealed, and I glanced around: "Have I come to your alternate world again?"

But it doesn't look like it.

I've already been to the Flower Fairy's otherworld once, so if this is it, I'll definitely feel an even deeper sense of familiarity. No matter how different their appearances may be, their core and essence remain the same, which is the dominant agency of the Flower Fairy's existence.

Just as I expected, the flower fairy shook her head in denial, her petite figure seemingly straightening up a bit more: "How could you mistake such a magnificent space for my otherworld! This is clearly the territory of the Sacred Tree!"

World Tree?

Hasn't the World Tree vanished into the void? How could it possibly leave behind anything related to it in the same spot?

"Oh, that's a bit complicated to explain, we'll talk about it later."

The flower fairy's wings flapped even faster: "In short, all you need to know is that this is the sacred tree's reserved land for our fairy race, and that this is the birthplace of the primordial fairies, the fairy queen's palace, and the paradise and final resting place of many fairies, that's all!"

...This function is indeed quite complicated. If I were in the position of the World Tree, watching these little guys running around and busying themselves with all sorts of strange functions all day long, I probably would have quit long ago too.

"So don't tell me you guys were the ones who drove the World Tree away in the first place..."

"Hey! You know this is slander, don't you!"

The flower fairy suddenly bristled like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, and rushed close to my face: "The Holy Tree clearly said that she only granted us the right to use this world because she liked us by her side, so she won't be angry with us! She certainly won't be driven away by us! We cherish it more than anything!"

Uh, I accidentally blurted out what was on my mind.

I begged her for forgiveness, and it took me a while to steer the conversation back to why she had called me here and the accident that had happened earlier.

"Oh, you mean that entrance?"

The flower fairy clearly knew what had just happened: "I don't know what you saw either. After all, in my eyes, it was just a hollow giant tree. But Her Majesty the Queen once told us that it might be a trace of the Holy Tree's will left behind when it created this place, allowing observers to see things that might be related to it? Anyway, I don't understand."

So the thing related to me is actually a dilapidated little wooden cabin? And it was once inhabited by some strange hunter?

"Well, as for the purpose of calling you here..."

She turned and flew inside, gesturing for me to follow: "Naturally, the Queen wants to see you."
