Chapter 6 Strange Space



I can't just leave her alone and go.

Not to mention that before leaving, Yao was giving me instructions and pushing that idiot towards me, asking me to take good care of her. If I just went back like that, wouldn't it make it seem like I ran away in a cowardly manner because I was scared? If I did that, Yao would definitely nag me for days on end.

This is such a hassle.

Forget it, let's move forward then. We can always escape when we encounter something truly insurmountable.

After clearing my mind, I felt increasingly lighter, and my surroundings felt like I was playing a physical puzzle game.

"One idiot gets a bowl, two idiots get a plate. Three idiots get a pot, four idiots get a table..."

Humming a cheerful tune I'd heard somewhere, I finally strolled to the end of the corridor and, in the dim light, examined the only door in front of me.

The old, simple wooden door was ajar, revealing a sliver of its dull color. A rusty nameplate hung crookedly to the side, and the place where the lock should have been was just an empty hole, clearly indicating that it had been neglected for a long time.

Looking into the hollow, the dim light flickers on and off, revealing only a few picture frames and still shadows.

I thought about it for a few seconds, but decided to push the door open and go in to take a look.

Before I could even touch the door, I heard a meow, and then a small, dark shadow darted past my feet, brushing against my calves, and suddenly disappeared into the house.

The door creaked and opened slowly inwards.

Countless human figures, some standing and some walking, were frozen in front of the colorful paintings, with only a few huddled in the corners with their heads in their hands, as if they were afraid of something.

The only lights in the room flickered intermittently, yet the human figures remained motionless, their clothes somber yet lifelike.

Not far away, the petite black figure that had darted in earlier turned around, its slender, cat-like tail swaying as if calling to me to follow it.

But I knew perfectly well that the creature was not a cat.

Its head was just a colorful blob.
