After much consideration, I finally decided to wake up Miss [Dark], who had been sleeping in the Shadow Space.
It's not wrong for me to charge a room fee since it's been living in my shadow without my consent, is it? Now it's time for this most mysterious being in [Dawn] to make an appearance and turn the tide beautifully.
...Even though that's what I thought, I still had no idea how to wake her up.
Similar to the Flower Fairy's otherworld, the Shadow Space created by [Darkness] is more like a temporary, small space than a permanent miniature garden. However, its creator has always been present within it to maintain its existence, and the entrance has not been completely sealed off. It is anchored by the coordinates of my shadow, which is why there has never been any sign of it collapsing.
However, this is not something that can be easily interfered with from the outside. I once tried to let magic and perception penetrate it separately in my spare time. The feedback from one was that it was difficult to penetrate, while the other returned a texture no different from the surface of an ordinary object. It seems that if one hopes to enter and exit this space smoothly, one must first obtain the creator's permission.
Given this premise, and considering that [An] is normally in a dormant state, even though I can now sense her presence, figuring out how to wake her up remains a challenge.
Speaking of which, this guy just sleeps like that, doesn't he need to eat?
With a few random thoughts swirling in my mind, I crouched down, pondered for a few seconds, and tentatively bent my fingers to gently tap the shadow beneath my feet.
[Dark] The body, huddled together, seemed to sway slightly. After a few seconds of pause, the neck turned slightly in the direction from which the sound came.
The distance was indeed only a few micrometers. If I hadn't been keeping a close eye on her sleeping figure, I would have definitely missed this detail.
However, since she might be able to detect the commotion coming from the outside, that makes things easier.
After tapping on the shadow again to confirm that she could hear me, I explained to her my hope that she could intervene and resolve the current situation.
Its sleepy cat-like eyes were half-open as it slowly glanced around, then looked up and stared at me intently for a long time, as if trying to discern something from my face. After a long while, it finally murmured in a soft, kitten-like voice, "For now, I can only make one move, within the range of my line of sight, is that alright?"
Although I don't know why [An] said she could only make one move in a short time, the range she could target was far beyond my expectations, which was everything within sight. To be honest, although I initially placed my hopes on her, I only hoped that she could move around the city walls like Miyuki, relieving as much pressure on the city's defenses as possible.
If we follow [An]'s advice, not only will it alleviate the pressure on the city's defenses, but it will also give the city's defenders a chance to catch their breath and reorganize their ranks, which will give them enough time.
Without much thought, after a simple calculation, I nodded in agreement to her question.
The slender, graceful woman's body cast a long, elongated shadow from her feet, blooming like a lotus. As her long, even figure rose, the shadow cascaded down her smooth skin like a waterfall. [Dark] raised her arms and slightly tilted her back, as if just waking up, greatly stretching her supple muscles and bones.
A brief gasp of surprise rang out nearby, only to be drowned out by the fierce clash of weapons and the clashing of blades. The surrounding demons, having likely noticed the presence of another person, turned their sharp, fierce gazes toward them, only to be pierced by the flashing light.
[An] shook his waist-length hair vigorously, neatly tied it up, and calmly surveyed the battlefield as if he had finally woken up. He then leaned over to look down at the city wall, and lightly leaped across the chaotic battlefield. After landing on a high point and looking around, he finally nodded in satisfaction and stopped.
Ignoring the surrounding chaos, [An] extended his hand: "Could you please guide me?"
Did she want me to help her identify all the targets present so that she could fight more accurately? I grasped her outstretched left hand as if I understood, and immediately felt a calm and undisturbed sense spreading towards me, then connecting with her and merging into the same frequency.
In an instant, my field of vision expanded to twice its original size, as if I were looking at something with two pairs of eyes leaning against each other, and I could even vaguely see my own figure in the peripheral vision of one of them.
It was a truly magical feeling; it was the first time I had ever experienced sensory synchronization with someone.
Gathering my thoughts, I closed my eyes, ignoring distracting sensations, and expanded my senses as much as possible, from back to front, encompassing everything within. The magic contained within these countless active creatures, however faint, was clearly visible in my perception. The magical fluctuations of humans were rational and burning intensely, while the magical fluctuations symbolizing demons were filled with chaos and disorder.
After a simple differentiation and repeated verification, I marked the chaotic and disordered sources of magic one by one with the outline as a reference. Soon, the preliminary work I needed to do was completed.
The city guards, who were already fighting all around, must have noticed our presence. Although they didn't realize what we were planning, they spontaneously gathered together and drove away and killed the monsters that tried to attack us. Thanks to them, we had plenty of time to prepare before we could launch our attack, although it was less than ten breaths in total.
The next moment, as [Dark]'s right hand suddenly clenched and then pulled outward, a silent howl accompanied the thin, paper-like fragments of black shadows that continuously condensed and extended in her hand, transforming into a clear dark curtain that swept past everyone's eyes in an instant.
After a brief delay, until those still fighting pushed their opponents to the ground, they finally realized that the previously noisy, dark beast tide was now completely silent and frozen in place. The angry expressions on the beasts' faces remained frozen, but their raised claws no longer moved.
