Thinking about it this way, ever since I officially embarked on the path of a mage, I've never paid attention to these things again. The chirping of insects and birds is no match for the chanting of a spell in my ears, and the starry sky is more distant than a magic circle that I could conjure with my hand. Even the myriad changes in the world are subconsciously attributed to the flow and collision of elements, and I can no longer see anything else.
Perhaps this is why I subconsciously avoid discussing more refined designs for the interior environment of a sandbox and instead talk about other things.
Ever since I first sensed the magic of the free-floating state in the air around me, I have never looked at the world around me again.
I must admit that my understanding of the world I live in is indeed very limited.
[You silly disciple, you've finally figured it out.]
I could almost hear my mentor's complaints fading past my ears. Shaking off the random thoughts in my mind, I turned around and sincerely asked the person next to me, "[Aisha], if I remember correctly, you must have painted quite a few pictures of the starry sky, right?"
The painter nodded slightly, a look of doubt on her face.
"I can confirm that it is a beautiful painting, as if a real star fell and you happened to capture it."
"If possible, could you please draw another one for me?" I asked. "I hope to see that beautiful and dazzling night sky again and use it to create a night sky scene that belongs to my miniature garden."
Staring wide in surprise, the artist blinked several times in a daze before suddenly breaking into a smile, lifting the hem of her skirt in an elegant gesture: "If there's anything I can do to help, I'd be more than happy to."
"By the way, do you like shooting stars? I highly recommend the Leonid meteor shower; it's the most spectacular meteor shower you can see all year! And..."
...
The next morning, when I woke up, the cat, the hound, and Pupu, who had been snuggling by my side before bed for the past few days, woke up at the same time. They took turns rubbing their cheeks against me affectionately, and then Pupu was the first to open the door and dart out one by one.
A faint aroma of meat wafted in from outside the half-open door, followed by Hikari's energetic greetings to the three of them.
The mentor who visited two days ago did not choose to take the hunting dog and Pupu away. Instead, after teasing them for a while, she simply handed them over to me to take care of. In her words, "There are too many things in the workshop to fit in, so I'm entrusting them to my dear disciple to take care of for a while."
But we both knew that this was just a lame excuse that came out of nowhere. She was really just too lazy to take care of them and didn't know how. Otherwise, she wouldn't have left those hunting dogs to roam outside the workshop for so long.
Of course, I also tried to bring those two back with me.
Pupu was resistant and uncooperative. Even when forcibly dragged away, the magical light floating within its body kept struggling to the other side, quickly slipping away from my grasp and disappearing without a trace. The young hunting dog, on the other hand, was completely oblivious to the danger. Although it was willing to return to its original dwelling if I asked it to follow, it was quickly kicked away by the others who hadn't come along. Then, it turned around, shook off its fur from a clump, and quickly followed behind me, tongue lolling.
It seems like I won't be able to get rid of these two anytime soon.
Hikari, on the other hand, looked delighted upon hearing the news, hugging them one by one. She was so happy that her eyes flashed with vibrant colors, almost blinding her.
Incidentally, I rejected the suggestion to name the hunting dog Wangcai.
This name is so incredibly corny!
"A humble name makes a child easier to raise!"
Facing Hikari's righteous indignation, the hound, who was perhaps unaware that it had been given the name Wangcai, nestled happily in the girl's warm embrace, its eyes half-closed, the shadows behind it almost blurring into a blur.
This guy!
Somewhat annoyed, I grabbed the stupid dog by the scruff of its neck and dragged it aside. I turned Hikari around and pushed her toward her room so she could change out of her clothes, which unfortunately had a few dog hairs stuck to them, and wash them clean.
As for Yao's speechless eye roll and the scumbag rabbit's incessant laughter? Who cares!
While I was waiting outside the door, the flower fairy suddenly flew in from the library door. She looked exhausted but extremely excited, and spun around in front of me. She excitedly said that after thinking about it all night, she finally figured out the problem that she couldn't figure out yesterday, and asked me to come over and help supervise the progress of the project.
I was about to give a casual reply, but then I remembered the favor I had asked Miss [Aisha] yesterday evening. I paused for a moment, then instead advised her to calm down: "If it's not too urgent, I suggest you postpone your current project for now. I should be starting some basic structural work on the sandbox soon."
"Why...?"
The flower fairy put her hands on her hips in dissatisfaction, and the flapping of her wings visibly decreased in frequency, showing a hint of dejection. But then she suddenly became alert: "Major structural construction? How big is it? Will it affect us? Why didn't it start sooner... Is it just an excuse to kick us out?"
"To be clear, we don't have any more of those seeds to build the temporary base."
It's no wonder she was so wary. After all, she had just moved out of her hometown, which was on the verge of collapse, and then she heard that there was going to be a major construction project around the new location. Her immediate thought was whether the other party intended to break the agreement and stage a "cannot fulfill the agreement due to some reason" act.
In the end, the ones who will suffer are the foolish fairies who believed the promise, put in the work and effort, only to be scammed.
Incidentally, just as I mentioned that a major structural overhaul would be carried out here, a detached gaze came from behind me. Without turning around, I knew it was Yao's calm scrutiny. That gaze seemed to be trying to penetrate my body, to see what I was thinking inside, detached and devoid of emotion.
