"Are you alright?" I asked her, while keeping a watchful eye on the man's movements in the distance.
He seemed to be preparing some kind of powerful move, completely disregarding the gushing blood from the wound behind him. The blood, which should have been vibrant and full of life, flowed from the man like that of a decaying corpse, appearing as a dull, purplish-black.
The color spread rapidly through the poisonous snake's body that surrounded it, causing the snake's outline to throb restlessly and to stretch its neck and emit a loud hiss that could numb the hearing if heard up close.
Soon, as the hissing gradually subsided, the giant snake's body solidified, and its eyes turned into an abyss-like gray.
He casually wiped away the blood seeping from the wound on his face, shook his head to indicate that he was fine, and then glanced to his side.
Right in the middle of me and An, where Lena had stood, was now replaced by a massive, silver-white structure with a cold, hard aesthetic.
After enthusiastically declaring that she was going to do something big, Lena raised her hand and summoned a bunch of giant, angular cubes from behind her, then quickly crawled into them.
The blocks completely enveloped her from top to bottom, and after a series of complex transformations, they unfolded like a giant figurine gradually being unmolded. The unfolded platform was fixed by anchor bolts deeply embedded in the ground, and a faint blue light band near the edge pulsed and flickered. In front of her were a pair of huge, straight cannon muzzles.
The petite humanoid figure was wrapped in a white bodysuit, with transparent goggles covering her eyes. Complex, mechanical structures cushioned her movements at key points such as her shoulders, back, waist, and thighs, while also being fixed in the center of the cannon. Her right hand stretched straight forward, measuring everything on the field like a ruler.
"【Thunder Spear】Prototype v3.7 deployment complete, time taken: 3 minutes 27.042 seconds. Core assembly components loaded. Launch ready."
Lena's voice, filtered through multiple layers, possessed a peculiar rhythm as she calmly recounted the events unfolding before her.
"Target confirmed, locked. Determined to be a life form infected with Abyssal attributes. Severe condition, deemed beyond saving. Countermeasure: Complete annihilation. Analyze weaknesses, load Abyssal attribute. Insufficient energy supply, lower expected target. Countermeasure: Target cannot continue fighting. Loading preparation, Holy attribute conversion preparation. Pre-loading program is online."
"Warning: Oversaturation bombardment will begin in five minutes. Please move away from the frontal range of the guns immediately."
"...So, all you need to do is stall for five minutes?"
Watching Lena transform into a giant cannon, with more than a dozen beams of light extending into the void, I turned uncertainly to An. The latter nodded slightly, a hint of relief appearing on her serious face: "Since Big Sister said so, we just need to hold on for another five minutes." She paused, then added, "However, the energy is insufficient. Just in case, it's best to lure that troublesome snake away, or destroy that layer of defense directly."
An took a light breath and sank back into the shadows.
Looking up into the distance, vines sprouted from the ground and danced wildly, entwining the snake's body and binding it as it tried to wreak havoc on everything around it. Even when its own body was stained with a dark gray color or was roughly torn apart, it still relentlessly surged forward again.
The number of puppets that regrouped was only a few, and several bizarrely drawn creatures with colorful heads kept harassing them, launching attacks on the intruders whenever they could find a gap. They moved around using vines, and occasionally burst out with intense light from the gaps.
Needless to say, every resident here is doing their part to keep the uninvited guest out.
So, what is something I can do right now?
The intensity of the current battle has clearly escalated to a level I can't easily approach. Let alone touch it, even getting a little closer would give me the illusion that I'm about to be pulverized.
Even Yao, the Fairy Clan, and Miss [Aisha] were merely trying to interfere and restrain them. Only Lena and An were capable of launching the main attack and counterattack.
It's like an ordinary person, powerless to even kill a chicken, standing before a raging tidal wave, or witnessing a fireball fall from the sky onto the nearby ground. Aside from fear and trembling, and praying that the impending natural disaster won't befall them, there's nothing else they can do.
However, I am not entirely an ordinary person either.
I am Yumi, a third-year mage capable of setting up magic arrays, the only disciple of the [Omniscient Master of the Silver Gate], and the master of this miniature garden.
What only I can do, must exist here.
Silver [liquid metal] flowed out, and I threw all the elemental stones and magic stone fragments of different attributes into the air. Under my control, I maintained their suspended state and they all turned into dense elemental and magical power.
I closed my eyes and let the light golden magic circle unfold beneath my feet, then, following the shared connection, it quickly expanded to the entire miniature garden.
Unfortunately, this is my territory.
Although the expulsion order failed to work, I was not entirely powerless to resist.
The creation of the sand garden technique was never intended for mere leisure.
Instead, it is a field spell that drags in external enemies and unilaterally commits atrocities.
The magic flowing in the air carried the colliding elements to a designated location, encircling the man in the center. The elements connected with each other, gradually transforming towards each other under the force of a single direction, constructing a basic cycle.
It's as if that space has been separated from the miniature garden, and under this one-sided setting, attacks that are only introduced from the outside by our side can penetrate freely, resisting and isolating the invasion of the man's abyssal power and poison gas, while at the same time limiting the amount of magic power and range of movement that can be used.
