...I feel that my answer was somewhat underwhelming.
Although it may be a somewhat naive and idealistic answer, being able to forgive and be compassionate is a better conclusion than revenge filled with anger.
Perhaps I should learn this instead of constantly thinking like a mage who has mastered violence.
Even so, my final conclusion remains unchanged: "In short, to avoid disturbing our goddess of the lake, I'd better stay away from the water." Otherwise, it wouldn't be a good sight if this landlubber of mine fell into the water.
"But the goddess of the lake doesn't exist; she's just a legend."
Hikari pointed out the obvious flaw that she herself was aware of: "Besides, this isn't a lake, it's the sea. How can a goddess who merely lives in a lake have any say in what happens in the sea?"
"But aren't lakes and seas also water?"
I directed the water sphere I had conjured, making it circle around my finger, leaving a transparent trail in the air, which could even conceal the expression in my eyes: "Just like this water sphere formed by magic, it is nothing more than a collection of water, at most differing only in size."
"Hmm, that's true..."
What an easy fool she is.
I shook my head, just as I was about to start a new topic, when I suddenly noticed out of the corner of my eye a fiery, vibrant color lingering on the beach.
Somewhat puzzled, I turned my head to look. Although there was some distance between us, the bright hair color was so obvious that it was hard not to notice it.
That was indeed the little princess of the Wan Jin Merchant Guild, and my junior, Gray, without a doubt.
She seemed anxiously searching for someone, constantly weaving through the crowds of people playing on the beach, occasionally pointing towards the sea and showing off the documents she clutched tightly in her hand. But judging from her appearance, no one seemed to be giving her the answers she wanted; instead, most just shook their heads and waved goodbye, making this little princess, dressed in a way that clashed with the seaside vacation atmosphere, appear unusually dejected as the sand splattered around her.
I asked Hikari and, after receiving confirmation, headed towards the shore. Although the boat moved a little slowly due to the slightly uneven waves and my lack of skill in navigating, we eventually made it to the shore.
"Grey?"
Calling out to the little princess who was hurrying away in the distance, Grey seemed to pause for a moment, then rushed over as if she had seen a savior. She didn't care when her sandals had flown off, nor did she care that she almost stumbled into his arms. Holding up the documents in her hand, she shouted, "Senior! Quick! Get everyone to a safe place! A big storm is coming!"
"What?" I couldn't help but doubt my ears and subconsciously turned my head to look into the distance.
Although many clouds blocked the sun and few seabirds were seen circling, the clear blue sky did not look like a storm was about to break.
Even the sea waves didn't sway much, and the sails of many ships cut through the waves, passing by gracefully and leisurely.
I asked her again to confirm, "You haven't received the wrong information, have you? The current situation doesn't look like there's going to be a major storm at all..."
"It will be available soon!"
Grey interrupted me forcefully, then held up a metal sphere with a complex mechanical structure, tilting her head back, her slender eyebrows furrowed: "Although this is just my latest improved judgment tool, senior! Can you feel the wind? It's getting stronger! And now many creatures that should be active at sea are approaching the shore, even venturing into the city!"
"All of this is because a huge storm is coming! It's completely unreasonable, a massive storm that will definitely be accompanied by a huge tide! Senior, look quickly, use your senses!"
Now, even though I'm usually slow to notice, I've finally realized something's wrong.
In the perception of the vast ocean behind them, an unusually bright flow of magic was gathering at the edge and continuously intensifying.
The incredibly powerful flow of magic seemed to be in mid-air, yet also seemed to penetrate deep beneath the sea, stirring up the air currents, creating waves, causing the clouds to shift, and the water to surge.
Without any warning, a huge disaster will be unleashed.
Looking back at the beach, still teeming with tourists and completely oblivious to everything, I exchanged a glance with Hikari, who was standing beside me, gripping my arm tightly and suddenly starting to tremble violently. My face paled. "Damn it..."
