I will certainly not let its intentions succeed.
The magic circle beneath my feet began to slowly rotate, emitting a pale golden light. I controlled the body that had been knocked away, pushing it back towards the safe path it had come from, and then began to chant another spell.
May the sweet dew nourish all things!
A small amount of magic surged outward from within my body, rushing straight towards the sky from a perspective unseen by ordinary people. In an instant, it rapidly spread, transforming into continuous rain clouds that drifted in mid-air, summoning a light drizzle.
The falling rain covered the battlefield where [Frost Sword] and the Chimera were fighting. A few raindrops clung to the Chimera's fur, but quickly dissolved due to the effect of [All Attribute Resistance].
The chimera seemed puzzled for a few seconds when it noticed the raindrops falling from the sky, but soon, since they had no effect on it, it revealed obvious disdain and contempt in its eyes.
But that's enough.
My goal has been achieved.
In its brief hesitation, [Frost Sword] had already completed its preparation.
The longsword, now sheathed, rubbed against its scabbard with intense friction, but no dazzling sparks flew, and there was no additional sign of life.
In the stillness of all things, the bright frost marks permeated the entire world.
It's impossible to count exactly how many strikes [Frost Sword] landed in that brief moment.
I only know one thing:
—After the blade's light faded, and as the clear sound of it returning to its sheath rang out, the massive chimera was covered in pale cut lines. After a brief stalemate, instead of bursting forth with vibrant colors, it erupted from the cut lines, multiplying into enormous ice crystals that encased it within.
"quick--!"
[Frost Sword] turned and shouted, retreating rapidly into the distance.
The ballistic trajectory ahead has been cleared.
Target calibration complete.
With my eyes closed, I used my senses to calibrate the target, focusing on the giant beast that was trembling slightly within the ice crystals, trying to break free of its restraints. I then fiercely crushed the magic stone fragments that I had hidden under my tongue long ago.
Total magic power increased.
A massive amount of magic power spread from my mouth, surging into my body, and then concentrated and compressed into a perfectly round whole through the circuit to my palm.
Compression begins.
Even without seeing, I could clearly feel the magic circle surrounding me spinning more and more intensely; even without summoning any elements, I could sense strong winds constantly converging towards the sphere that was being violently compressed in my palm.
The ear-piercing sound of electric sparks exploded in my ears, and my skin felt as if it were being burned and numbed by both flames and thunder at the same time, with a constant burning pain and tingling sensation.
The pale golden sea of magic was boiling, and then it expanded to an even larger radius.
We can't relax yet.
Faint, suppressed gasps could be heard from afar. The restrained chimera seemed to finally sense the danger, shaking its ice shell even more violently, causing cracks to appear on its surface and scattering fragments.
—It was almost a success.
One of its sharp claws had already broken through the icy shell, its slender snake tail swayed, helping it break free from the frost cage, and its curled wings vibrated, seemingly about to stir up a gust of wind.
The compression process is now complete.
—If only.
The condensed magic, which was initially twice the size of us, shrank to the size of a fist, but this contained almost all the magic I possessed and was about to drain all my control.
It vibrated incessantly, as if it were eager to unleash its power. From its initial looseness, it transformed into a deadly cohesive force. Even as its creator, I dared not let it touch me in the slightest.
Finally, there's the choice of incantation.
Without hesitation, naturally, words I had once seen in a book illustration flashed through my mind, and after some inexplicable and strange reaction, flowed from my lips:
[An arrow of hope burning like gold pierces through the darkest, most abhorrent demon!]
The condensed sphere stretched and extended on its own, transforming into an arrow shape that shimmered with a pale gold hue. As I relaxed my control, it flew away into the distance in an instant.
The chimera roared as it opened its mouth, and layers of ice crystals shattered and fell away, like snowflakes falling from a fallen branch in the dead of winter.
Its beastly eyes stared bloodthirstyly at the [Frost Sword] that was right in front of it, its snake tail pointing in my direction, its constantly extending and retracting forked tongue hissing.
But the roar only lasted for a moment.
The whirlwind that had been brewing between the wings no longer made a sound.
The next second, silence descended abruptly.
