Chapter 8 The End of the Illusion



"You actually dared to leave the library?"

I glanced with some surprise at the large, minimalist white-gold building behind me, and then looked again to confirm that it was indeed Yao standing in front of me. I couldn't help but look up at the sky with a noticeable hole, wondering if something was wrong with this world.

“Master of the Small Garden, it’s perfectly normal for me to leave the library, and besides, that’s not the point.” Yao adjusted his decorative gold-rimmed glasses on his nose with a serious expression. “Yesterday, there seemed to be signs of unusual contamination in the Small Garden. Do you have any leads?”

Well, that's the downside of sandbox gardens sometimes. When the owner of the sandbox garden is subjected to mental attacks from the outside world, it will be directly transformed into pollution and reflected inside the sandbox garden.

"It's just a simple breakthrough from an illusion," I said. "It's all normal fluctuation, nothing to worry about."

Yao stared at me silently for a long time, seemingly accepting the explanation, and nodded slightly: "Okay, next thing."

“A few minutes before you returned, someone whose true identity I cannot verify visited this place and brought a message.”

She repeated the messenger's words carefully and clearly: "My dear disciple, please come to me as soon as you get home. You know the location. There is something important that I need you to handle. Please do not think of escaping. My eyes will always be on you. I hope your choice will satisfy me. Your loving mentor."

I stood there, and suddenly felt as if I were standing in the cold wind of deep winter, and couldn't help but shiver.
