Chapter 14 Let's have dinner together? 8/28.23.
Anru arrived at the restaurant they had agreed upon, a traditional Chinese restaurant.
The storefront is decorated in traditional Chinese red, and even has gold couplets pasted on it.
The room was decorated with red lanterns and Chinese knots, the tables and chairs were made of wood, landscape paintings hung on the walls, and classical Chinese music was playing.
In any case, it exudes a Chinese flavor everywhere.
Anru Feng had never been here before. She had only recently arrived in Japan and hadn't had a chance to try all the local delicacies yet. This restaurant was recommended by Kwon Ji-yong.
The restaurant's decor was distinctly Chinese, and Anru Feng couldn't help but exclaim in Chinese in appreciation.
The waitress who led Anru Feng to the private room was a young woman with a cheerful personality. After hearing her question, she immediately smiled and asked in Chinese, "Are you Chinese?"
Hearing the standard Chinese, Anru Feng knew she was also Chinese, and nodded: "Yes, I am."
"Me too." Sure enough, upon hearing An Rufeng's affirmation, the waiter's face showed a look of surprise and delight, as if he had met an old friend in a foreign land.
During this time, An Rufeng spoke either English or Japanese. Her parents went on vacation and didn't even call or answer her calls, so she didn't even have a chance to speak Chinese. Now that she could speak her mother tongue, she felt incredibly warm and fuzzy, so An Rufeng couldn't help but chat with her.
Although it only talked about the restaurant's situation, it was still quite interesting.
Upon arriving at the private room, Kwon Ji-yong was already waiting inside.
An Rufeng was immediately drawn to his blond hair as soon as she entered the room.
She couldn't help but glance at him a few times; he was very handsome and suited her perfectly.
Upon seeing An Rufeng enter, Quan Zhilong stood up and greeted her with a slight smile.
He glanced at An Rufeng. She was wearing a simple black dress, her long hair tucked behind her ears, falling straight down close to her scalp, making her look both elegant and aloof.
Seeing that he had arrived early, An Rufeng said, "I'm sorry, I'm late."
"I'm too early; it's not the agreed time yet." Kwon Ji-yong gently pulled out a chair for An Joo-feng to sit down before sitting down himself.
The waiter handed over the menu, and Kwon Ji-yong politely asked An Yeo-feng to order first.
Anru Feng didn't refuse. She glanced at the menu and found that it had a wide variety of dishes, so she skipped the menu and directly ordered her favorite dishes in Chinese.
After ordering her own food, she handed the menu to Kwon Ji-yong, who then ordered the dishes recommended by his friend.
Since Anrufeng spoke in Chinese, he wasn't sure if there were any duplicates, so he told the waiter, "If there are any dishes that are the same as this lady's, just bring one of them. If there are any that are different, please bring a different signature dish. Thank you!"
Kwon Ji-yong secretly wondered if he should learn Chinese.
"Yes, sir." The waiter was multitasking, taking notes on the dishes while being incredibly curious about their relationship.
Big Bang is incredibly popular in Japan right now. She knows all of Big Bang's leader, Kwon Ji-yong, and she's even a fan of his.
She was very excited that her idol had come to eat their Chinese food, especially since she was the one serving him.
When she noticed that her idol was waiting for someone, she couldn't help but wonder whether it was a man or a woman.
The thought that her idol might be waiting for a woman made her feelings complicated.
She had heard rumors circulating in the fan community that her idol was getting quite close to a Japanese model.
When she was actually serving a woman, an indescribable emotion welled up inside her—was it jealousy, disappointment, or something else? She couldn't say for sure.
In short, it's heartbreaking.
But when she learned that the person she was having dinner with was Chinese, and a stunningly beautiful woman, her mood instantly changed.
Although Anju Feng and Kwon Ji-yong interacted politely and courteously.
But because of Kwon Ji-yong's gentlemanly thoughtfulness, she had already started to imagine the sweet interactions between the two, and even secretly started shipping them as a couple in her heart.
"What would you like to drink? Wine, tea, juice?" After ordering, Kwon Ji-yong asked An Yeo-poong what she wanted to drink.
"Order whatever you like." They ate at a Chinese restaurant, and it was obvious that he was accommodating her because she was Chinese, so he didn't care about the Anjou wine.
In fact, if Anru Feng wants fruit juice, she will usually order it if the restaurant has it.
But we're talking business today, so it's not appropriate to ask for that. It wouldn't be right for her to offer juice in response to someone toasting her with alcohol.
Kwon Ji-yong turned to the waiter and said, "Two glasses of juice, please."
An Rufeng was somewhat surprised upon hearing this, as if she knew what An Rufeng was thinking. Quan Zhilong's lips curled up slightly as he explained, "I noticed you like drinking juice, and since we don't need to be too formal today, I ordered this."
"Thank you." Anru Feng smiled at him.
Why is he so thoughtful?
Anru Feng couldn't help but be puzzled again by his series of gentlemanly and considerate behaviors.
Seeing the thoughtful look on An Rufeng's face, Quan Zhilong couldn't help but raise the corners of his mouth slightly, revealing a subtle smile.
Compared to being indifferent, showing emotional fluctuations for him is an improvement.
Kwon Ji-yong sat opposite her, casually leaning back in his chair, one leg crossed over the other, his hands lightly crossed and placed on his knees.
Seeing An Rufeng gradually becoming immersed in her own thoughts, Quan Zhilong did not disturb her, but simply watched her quietly.
Kwon Ji-yong's deep gaze traced her full, glossy lips, then slowly moved upwards, across her straight nose, and finally settled on her clear, glassy eyes.
When she was thinking, she was oblivious to her surroundings. Under the lamplight, her eyes appeared empty and pure, like the gaze of an ancient Greek goddess looking at the world, full of pity but also revealing an indifferent cruelty that seemed to come from afar.
Her eyes remained still, as if time had frozen at that moment, and all her thoughts drifted to another world. Kwon Ji-yong felt that even though she was right in front of him, he felt as if they were from two different worlds, like a human and a goddess.
She's completely different from the lively and enthusiastic butterfly she was when sitting across from Da Cheng.
His gaze was fixed on An Rufeng, deep, focused, firm, and profound.
What are you thinking? Why don't you look at him who is right in front of you?
May the goddess quickly transform into a butterfly on earth.
Anru Feng didn't come to her senses until the waiter brought her the juice.
Anru Feng took a sip of juice.
Good heavens, she's actually thinking so much about someone she doesn't want to get to know any further.
An Rufeng knew herself well; she always filtered out the affairs of unimportant people and wouldn't waste any of her emotions on them.
An Rufeng understood that she was now pondering whether his politeness and thoughtfulness stemmed from a cooperative relationship or simply from friendliness, because she wanted to figure out if his gentlemanly consideration was masking his dislike for her.
She was interested in him and wanted to get to know him better, maybe even become friends.
But Anru Feng couldn't understand his attitude.
Forget it, celebrities are busy. They're not in the same industry, and they won't have much contact in the future. So she got attracted to something else.
An Rufeng hesitated for a moment, then gave up.
Seeing that she was no longer lost in thought, Kwon Ji-yong took out her bank card, placed it on the table and pushed it towards her, and started talking to her about the sponsorship from Dae-sung.
Actually, there wasn't anything much going on; it was all just minor details, like when would be a convenient time for her to meet with YG Entertainment representatives, sign contracts, make payments, and the meeting place—just a few trivial matters.
This shouldn't have been his problem.
After discussing some serious matters, Kwon Ji-yong chatted casually about Dae-sung's album and Anju Feng.
“There will be a song with a different style on Da Cheng’s solo album. Do you have any suggestions, Ms. An?”
"I'm not a professional, so I'm afraid I don't have any good advice."
"No need for expertise, this is just considering the album from the listener's perspective. You are Da Cheng's most loyal listener, and what you think is suitable for Da Cheng is generally what makes Da Cheng unique and attractive."
Hearing that it was just unprofessional advice from the audience's perspective, Anru Feng didn't hold back: "I think Dacheng's voice is very suitable for accompaniment with classical instruments."
It seems she pays attention to or likes classical music, or is frequently exposed to it.
Kwon Ji-yong thought for a moment, then smiled and asked, "What type of classical instrument?"
“The cello, the cello’s deep, rich, and warm tone is a perfect match for Dacheng’s voice,” Anru Feng said confidently.
Upon hearing this, Kwon Ji-yong thought about it and realized it was true; he could imagine the effect of a loud voice combined with a cello.
He even had an inspiration and unconsciously whispered, "We could take some inspiration from Elgar's Cello Concerto in E minor..."
“Yes!” An Rufeng’s eyes lit up when she heard this, and she chimed in, “What I was thinking about was the profound emotion and lyricism of this concerto. Dacheng’s voice gives people the same feeling as this concerto.”
Kwon Ji-yong snapped out of his reverie upon hearing her voice, noted the inspiration in his mind, and casually remarked, "Miss An seems to know a lot about the cello?"
“I’ve been learning the cello for several years,” Anru Feng said without hiding anything.
Just as I expected.
Kwon Ji-yong smirked: "The solemn style of the first movement of Elgar's Cello Concerto in E minor suits Daesung very well, and the profoundness of the third movement..."
Anru listened intently to his ideas for the song about the big city, nodding in agreement from time to time.
Although she doesn't know how to arrange music, she can share the feeling that the music gives people, so she will occasionally insert her own thoughts: "The fourth movement is fast-paced and dynamic, with the sound of the big city and the grand ending, which can really touch people's hearts."
Kwon Ji-yong followed her words, a look of surprise flashing in his eyes; he was now brimming with inspiration.
As their conversation deepened, they discussed almost every famous cello piece, from the elegant Bach Cello Suites for Solo, to the soaring passion of Dvořák's Cello Concerto in B minor, and the rich repertoire of Tchaikovsky's Rococo Variations.
The two occasionally spoke at the same time because they shared the same viewpoint. In the quiet private room, the deep male voice and the crisp female voice intertwined, like a harmonious and melodious symphony.
During the exchange, An Rufeng listened to Quan Zhilong's ideas, and her eyes occasionally flashed with admiration.
I'm starting to think about becoming friends with him again.
It's a pity I can't understand his attitude or his opinion of her. If he doesn't like her, it would be very embarrassing to be rejected.
Anru Feng could only regretfully give up the idea of becoming friends with him.
The meal lasted for almost three hours. Brother Li had finished eating in another private room long ago and waited for a long time. Later, he came to check on the meal several times out of concern.
When the waiter came to collect the bill, An Rufeng was about to take it when Quan Zhilong had already picked it up first: "I'll pay."
Although the relationship hadn't progressed yet, his insistence on paying the bill was his last act of defiance; he couldn't accept splitting the bill, only accepting full payment.
The waitress was the same Kwon Ji-yong fan who had served her before the meal. She saw An Ru-feng trying to pay the bill, but Kwon Ji-yong quickly snatched it away, and she couldn't help but smile to herself.
How could a wealthy man allow a woman to pay the bill when he eats out?
Seeing that he insisted, Anru Feng did not ask for the bill again.
After Kwon Ji-yong paid the bill, as the two were about to part ways, he asked with a smile, "Ms. An, would you like to participate in the production of a song for the city? The song can include your cello playing."
Kwon Ji-yong looked at An Yeo-feng expectantly.
He had already thought of a reason for the next meeting, but he felt this reason was more appropriate.
"Isn't this a bad idea?" Faced with Kwon Ji-yong's invitation, An Rufeng was somewhat tempted. She thought it was quite interesting and she could give it a try.
Can he really make decisions about music production? Even though she's a sponsor.
“I will also be involved in the production of Da Cheng’s album, so you can come without any problem.” As if understanding her concerns, Kwon Ji-yong explained.
Since that was the case, An Rufeng agreed.
Seeing that An Rufeng had agreed, Quan Zhilong smiled calmly.
