A good morning kiss every day

A good morning kiss every day

The lunch was eventually delivered to the office. Lu Zhian ate without tasting it, mechanically swallowing it, unable to discern the flavors of the exquisite dishes. After the meal, Xiao Yuan didn't stop him; he practically fled.

The next few days were peaceful.

Xiao Yuan did not pull him into his arms or kiss him again, nor did he overstep his authority as a superior. He assigned tasks and listened to reports in a completely businesslike manner, leaving no room for criticism.

But it was precisely this deliberate "normality" that made Lu Zhian clearly sense that Xiao Yuan was angry.

It was a silent, oppressive chill that lingered around Xiao Yuan, growing heavier with each passing day. Lu Zhian even secretly inquired with his close secretary, hoping to find out if President Xiao had any worries or unusual preferences lately, but to no avail.

This invisible pressure continued to accumulate, finally reaching its peak before the end of the workday on Friday.

Lu Zhian took a deep breath and knocked on the door of the president's office.

"Enter."

He pushed the door open and went in. Xiao Yuan was signing documents with his head down, not even looking up at him.

Lu Zhian walked to the desk, hesitated for a moment, placed a dark blue velvet box on the table, and gently pushed it to Xiao Yuan's side.

Xiao Yuan continued writing, neither looking up nor speaking, as if the box did not exist.

The air was still, thick with an awkward silence.

Lu Zhian pursed his lips, then suddenly reached out, picked up the box, and placed it directly into Xiao Yuan's slightly clenched palm. The instant Xiao Yuan finally looked up at him because of this action, Lu Zhian quickly leaned in and gently pressed a fleeting kiss on his cheek with his soft lips.

After doing all this, his ears turned bright red, and he turned to run away.

Unfortunately, it didn't work.

Her wrist was suddenly gripped, and a force came through. In a dizzying moment, Xiao Yuan had pulled her back into that familiar embrace, and she fell onto his lap.

"..." Lu Zhian's cheeks flushed red, and he struggled for a moment, "President Xiao!"

Xiao Yuan ignored his protests, locked his arm around his waist, and opened the velvet box with his other hand.

A pair of cufflinks lay quietly in the box.

The material is unique, with a main color of calm gray-blue, deep and unfathomable. Upon closer inspection, a very thin, shimmering yellow crescent moon is cleverly inlaid along the edge of that gray-blue. This color scheme is exactly the same as the color of his eyes.

Lu Zhian watched him examine the cufflinks and explained softly, "I made them myself... I think they suit you very well."

Xiao Yuan remained silent, a silence that made Lu Zhian uneasy. He mustered his courage, his voice softening, with a hint of apologetic appeasement: "You...you're not angry anymore..."

Xiao Yuan finally raised his eyes, his gray-blue pupils locking onto him, his emotions churning within.

“You’ve been very cold to me,” he began, his voice low and carrying a clear accusation.

Lu Zhian was taken aback by his directness and instinctively came up with the lame excuse: "...The company, the company doesn't allow office romances..." His voice grew increasingly weak.

Xiao Yuan raised an eyebrow and bluntly stated, "The company doesn't have that rule."

Lu Zhian: "..." He was speechless, his eyes darting around, unable to find any other excuse.

Seeing his appearance, the coldness in Xiao Yuan's eyes seemed to dissipate a little. He tightened his grip on Lu Zhian's waist, bringing the two of them even closer, almost touching nose to nose.

Then, in a tone that was almost negotiating, yet subtly concealed an expectation, he clearly stated his demands:

"Can I have a good morning kiss every day?"
