Extra Chapter 1: Sofa Interrogation
Back home, the door closed gently behind him, shutting out the outside world. The entryway light was dim, reflecting the complex expression that hadn't completely faded from Yin Qin's face.
Gu Yingshen took in all these subtle emotions. He didn't speak, but silently took a step forward, reached out, and with an irresistible force, pushed Yin Qin backward, causing him to fall onto the soft sofa.
Before Yin Qin could react, Gu Yingshen had already straddled him, kneeling on either side of him with her legs spread apart, looking down at him. The posture was full of control and oppression, but Gu Yingshen's hands only lightly wrapped around the back of his neck.
His grey eyes locked onto Yin Qin's somewhat evasive gaze at close range. Gu Yingshen's voice was calm, yet carried a penetrating power:
What did they say to you?
It wasn't a question, it was a statement. He had long suspected that the two Xiao brothers hadn't been up to any good in the coffee shop.
Under his focused gaze, Yin Qin was almost completely exposed. He pursed his lips and finally confessed honestly, his voice somewhat muffled: "They said... when you 'died,' there were rumors that you committed suicide with the designer... and that many people thought you were a perfect match..." His voice grew softer as he spoke, as if he himself found the words absurd, yet he couldn't completely shake off their influence.
After listening, Gu Yingshen's face remained expressionless; he simply asked indifferently, "And then you believed it?"
Yin Qin seemed stung by those words, abruptly raising his head, a mixture of grievance and a defiant stubbornness in his eyes: "You even shared the same milk tea." He paused, emphasizing, "...intermittent kissing..."
These words were laced with jealousy and even sounded somewhat childish, completely unlike what the usually composed President Yin would say.
Gu Yingshen looked at him like this, remained silent for a few seconds, and then said in an almost cold, analytical tone:
"Then I'll do it with you."
These words were so blunt that they made Yin Qin's ears burn, but what followed was an even deeper sense of bitterness.
He looked at Gu Yingshen: "You won't tell me anything, you're hiding everything from me, but he knows everything. And this ring..."
Gu Yingshen's gaze fell on the ring, then slowly moved to Yin Qin's face, which was filled with unease and stubbornness.
He sighed, a rare occurrence for him.
Ultimately, it was he who made Yin Qin feel uneasy. He was used to burying everything, including the heavy past and the emotions he thought were self-evident.
He didn't answer the question about the ring immediately, but instead reached out and intertwined his fingers tightly with Yin Qin's outstretched hand, which was also wearing a ring. The cold metal pressed against their fingers, yet strangely, it transmitted warmth.
He looked at their clasped hands.
"Water level..."
Yin Qin was stunned at first, then he remembered the time he lost control and helped Gu Yingshen in the bathroom last time.
Gu Yingshen gritted his teeth and said, "He did it on purpose!"
Yin Qin finally understood the hint from that day. Looking at Gu Yingshen's unusually angry expression, he pulled him even closer into his arms.
“Yes, he did it on purpose.” Yin Qin agreed. “So,” he raised their clasped hands again, the ring shimmering warmly under the light, “can I wear it on my middle finger?”
His tone was no longer one of unease seeking confirmation, but rather one of certainty and gentle anticipation of the final announcement.
