??117. Give us another chance

117. Give us another chance

Ling Ling, drunk, fell asleep on the dining table. Her half-lidded face was thick with sadness. Seeing her like this, Zhong Mingtong felt a complex mix of emotions, though he couldn't quite put his finger on what they were, so he decided to stop dwelling on them. Reluctantly, he stood up and walked towards her, reaching out to put his arm around her shoulders, but another man got there first. "Don't worry about it. I'll do it." Yu Chuanbei half-crouched, pulling her up so her head rested on his shoulder. Zhong Mingtong paused, but remained unceremonious. "Ling Ling broke up with you. She probably doesn't want any more physical contact with you, does she?" "This is between us, none of your business." Yu Chuanbei patted her face. Seeing no movement, he prepared to lift her sideways, but Zhong Mingtong held his arm in place. "Where are you taking her? She got drunk while dining with me. I can't just leave her alone." Zhong Mingtong's eyes flickered with a rare sternness. Yu Chuanbei calmed down and explained to him without hesitation: "I'm taking her back to our old home. I won't do anything to her without her consent." After that, Yu Chuanbei picked her up and walked into the elevator. His body felt bumpy, and Ling Ling, who had been sleeping, seemed to wake up hazily. Her uncontrollable hands scratched at something on his face. Although there was no one else in the elevator, her dishonesty made it difficult for him to hold her for a while, so he had to put her on the ground. She lost her balance and fell back into his arms, mumbling: "You are not Zhong Mingtong, you are not wearing glasses." Hearing these words, Yu Chuanbei was really furious. He said angrily: "I'm sorry to disappoint you." But she shook her head and said vaguely: "No, I don't know him well enough, I don't want him to hug me." The movement of shaking her head caused severe dizziness, and she could no longer rely on him. Yu Chuanbei grabbed her falling body and held her tightly in his arms again. He felt a surge of pride, his arms tightening, holding her restless body tightly. He carried her to the back seat of his car and drove off. He shook her awake and whispered in her ear, "What if it was Yu Chuanbei holding you? Would you like it?" Lingling, disturbed by his noise, raised her hazy eyes to study his face. Her cool hand caressed his cheek again, stroking it again and again. Then, in a lazy voice, she said, "You're Yu Chuanbei!" A smile welled up in Yu Chuanbei's eyes, and he chuckled. She nudged uncomfortably against his chest, and he adjusted his position, holding her whole upper body in his arms. He kissed the top of her head deeply and said tenderly, "Be good, let's go home."

Ling Ling fell asleep on the dining table after getting drunk. Her half-covered face was filled with thick sadness. Seeing her like this, Zhong Mingtong felt very complicated. He couldn't say what it was exactly, so he had to stop thinking about it.

He stood up helplessly, walked towards her, and just as he was about to put his arm around her shoulders, another man got there first.

"Don't worry about it, I'll do it." Yu Chuanbei half-knelt down, lifted her body, and let her head rest on his shoulder.

Although Zhong Mingtong paused, she was not polite. "Ling Ling broke up with you. She probably doesn't want to have any physical contact with you anymore."

"This is our business, you don't have to worry about it." Yu Chuanbei patted her face, and seeing no movement, he was about to pick her up horizontally, but Zhong Mingtong held his arm.

"Where are you taking her? She got drunk while having dinner with me, and I can't just leave her alone." A rare cold look appeared in Zhong Mingtong's eyes.

Yu Chuanbei calmed down and explained to him without hesitation: "I will take her back to our original home. I won't do anything to her without her consent."

After saying that, Yu Chuanbei picked her up sideways and walked into the elevator going down.

Feeling the body jolt, Ling Ling, who had been sleeping, seemed to wake up hazily. Her uncontrollable hands scratched at something on his face. Although there was no one else in the elevator, her dishonesty made it difficult for him to hold her. He had to put her on the ground. She lost her balance and fell back into his arms, mumbling, "You are not Zhong Mingtong. You are not wearing glasses."

Yu Chuanbei was furious when he heard this. He said angrily, "I'm sorry to disappoint you."

But she shook her head and said vaguely: "No, I don't know him well enough, I don't want him to hug me." The action of shaking her head caused her severe dizziness, and she could no longer rely on him.

Yu Chuanbei grabbed her falling body and held her tightly in his arms again. He felt proud now, and his arms became stronger, holding her restless body tightly.

He carried her into the back seat of the car and drove away. He woke her up and asked in her ear, "What if Yu Chuanbei held you in his arms? Would you be willing?"

Ling Ling was disturbed by his noise and could not rest. She raised her blurry eyes and carefully identified his face. Her cold little hand touched his cheek again and again, then said lazily, "Aren't you Yu Chuanbei?"

A smile welled up in Yu Chuanbei's eyes and he chuckled.

She arched her back against his chest uncomfortably. He adjusted his position, held her entire upper body in his arms, kissed the top of her head deeply, and said tenderly, "Be good, let's go home."

When Yu Chuanbei carried Ling Ling to his bed, she was still unconscious. He couldn't help but feel fortunate in his heart: Fortunately, he didn't leave in anger at that time, otherwise, how could he feel at ease knowing she was like this and being with another man!

He took her makeup off with cotton pads, changed her into pajamas, and tucked her in, just like he always did when she came home drunk from social events. Then he went to take a shower, and when he came back, he lay down beside her, holding her soft body, and fell asleep together.

Ling Ling woke up the next day hungover and suddenly found herself in a familiar house. It was as if the time she had been away had been cut off by a time machine, and her thoughts were connected. She and Yu Chuanbei were still a loving couple. But she scratched her messy hair, and the memory made her mind clear. She shouldn't have been here.

She looked at her pajamas. When she left, she hadn't taken anything he had bought her, including this sexy silk pajamas. Fortunately, there was no man around, so she knew nothing had happened last night.

She walked out of the bedroom barefoot. He was carrying a plate of vegetables from the kitchen. He smiled gently when he saw her, then greeted her and said, "You didn't cooperate much last night. You didn't remove your makeup properly. Go take a good shower and then come over for dinner."

Hearing him say this, she felt upset. She didn't plan to take a bath at his house, but asked, "Where are my clothes?"

"I washed it, but it's not dry yet." He glanced at the clothesline on the balcony and motioned her to look over there.

She walked over, touched his wet underwear and outerwear, and asked him accusingly, "Doesn't the washing machine have a drying function?"

"That wastes so much electricity. Wouldn't it be better to let it dry naturally?" It has to be said that Yu Chuanbei, who has a righteous face, looks a bit shameless with this expression.

Ling Ling was about to tear off her clothes and put them in the dryer in anger, but he held her back. He said to her in a pleading tone, "The meal is ready, for two. Don't we even have the kindness to sit down and eat together?"

In fact, he wanted to add, "You and Zhong Mingtong can sit down and eat, why can't you sit down and eat with me?", but he was afraid that if he said it, she would think he was petty and make her angry again, so he had to swallow it back.

Ling Ling was still hesitating. He took the clothes hanger from her hand and hung it back on the clothesline. Then, holding her hand tightly, which she repeatedly tried to break free, he pushed her into a chair by the dining table and said to her, "Then eat first. When you're full, your blood sugar will rise and your mood will improve."

She had no choice but to pick up her chopsticks and, facing each other, began to eat the meat, vegetable, rice, and soup before them. This was the most silent meal they had ever shared together, each preoccupied with their own thoughts, neither speaking. Yu Chuanbei simply wanted her to eat her fill, adhering to the old rule of not arguing while eating.

After dinner, he pulled her to the sofa again, poured a cup of tea that he had brewed in advance, handed it to her palm, and said, "It's warm now, just right to drink."

This time it was Ling Ling who said in a begging tone: "Don't do this, don't do this to me again."

He calmly asked her, "Why? Are you afraid of something? You're so brave and courageous. If you don't have me in your heart, why not just turn around and leave?"

Ling Ling heard him speak to her in this tone again and was about to stand up in anger, but he quickly grabbed her hand. Some tea spilled on her palm. He took away the teacup, took out a tissue, and wiped it for her bit by bit.

"I'm sorry." He said with his head down.

She pouted and started crying in grievance.

He held her in his arms. She angrily refused and beat his chest, but he still held her stubbornly and said firmly in her ear: "Let's never talk about breaking up again, okay? I can't lose you at all. The time you've been away has been particularly difficult for me, and I can't bear to see another man get close to you. Give us another chance, okay? Let's get along well, report any problems in advance, and discuss and solve them together, okay?"

Ling Ling was tired from fighting, and she let him hold her exhausted body, still aggrieved, "Boss Yu is so cunning, I can't escape your scheme no matter what."

"I didn't, never to you." His voice was hoarse.

His shoulder was right next to her mouth, and she bit down swiftly, venting all her grievances in this fierce bite.

Yu Chuanbei shrank his shoulders in pain, and the arm around her suddenly tightened. Her body seemed to be embedded in his. She felt a little suffocated and pushed him away to breathe, but he kissed her without saying a word.

The lace hem of the silk nightgown wrinkled and smoothed in his palm, then slipped off. After more than two months without intimacy, his body was thirsty and he didn't want to express his longing with words. He loved the physical connection between them: sucking meant I missed you, caressing meant I loved you, penetration meant I wanted to possess you, and orgasm meant I couldn't live without you.

The bed that had kept Yu Chuanbei tossing and turning for the past two months was now filled with the familiar scent and wetness of a woman, and he felt satisfied and indulgent. He gathered her in his arms, kissed her sweaty forehead, and whispered, "Ling, can we always be this good from now on? No more talk of breaking up. Didn't we say we would be together forever?"

Ling Ling was still a little confused: "But, the problems between us still exist."

"Problems can arise between anyone. Even children who grow up in the same family can develop different values, let alone us. Life is long, and we have plenty of opportunities."

He kissed her again, then smiled and said, "Should I take a shower now?"

She slapped his bare chest coquettishly, and suddenly felt that she had not bitten enough.

Love never has a neat form. The tug-of-war between two people will eventually turn into a lingering relationship.
