Extra Nan Luo: 14. Even if I want to be a parasite

Luo Hao was sitting at the back door of the gallery eating lunch. He couldn't cross his legs to avoid wrinkling his suit, so he had to keep them straight. He was about to throw up from the "poor man's meal" at McDonald's. He flipped through the latest job postings he had collected, thinking that if he could find a better job, at least his basic needs would be improved. The clacking sound of high heels came from far away, and he looked in the direction of the sound and saw Yu Jinnan walking towards him gracefully. He stared at her with his eyes fixed, but didn't want to show any fear in front of her, so he pretended to be calm and looked away. "Instead of reading these useless things, you might as well go back to your country and find a real job." Yu Jinnan stood beside him with her arms folded, looking condescending. Luo Hao didn't look up at her, still concentrating on the recruitment brochures. He said coldly, "Why, are you going to support me with a return ticket again? Sure, the Spring Festival is coming soon. If you want to buy it, go ahead. I'll be back after the New Year." Yu Jinnan gritted her teeth and asked him, "When are you leaving?" He said with a playful smile, "My parents gave me two years. It's only been half a year. Please bear with me." This Shanghainese man said this with a Beijing accent, which sounded out of place. From the corner of his eye, he saw Yu Jinnan's bright red high heels walk away a few steps and then come back. He heard the sound of a zipper on a leather bag, and then a business card was handed to him. She said, "Go find this person. He will provide you with a decent job." Luo Hao took it, glanced at the name on it, sneered, and then crumpled it into a ball in his palm. Then he threw the paper ball and the unappetizing "poor guy's meal" into the trash can beside him, stood up, put his hands in his trouser pockets, and said to her face to face: "Even if I want to be a parasite, I will not regard you as a host. Your boyfriend, I checked him out after seeing him from a distance last time. No matter how poor I am, I will not go to his company to beg for food. Unless, you give me a task and let me help you keep an eye on this playboy boyfriend." Yu Jinnan cast an angry look at him, she crossed her arms again, in a defensive posture, "Let him spend money, only men like this understand romance! It's better than a pure little wolf dog like you. You are so obsessed with me, it's nothing more than too little sexual experience. If you have more girlfriends and see more of the world, you won't be so stubborn." After throwing these words away, she turned around and left. Luo Hao was stagnant on the spot. He wanted to lash out but couldn't. He also wanted to pick a fight but couldn't either. So he could only grit his teeth and curse in his heart like any other coward: "Just wait and see!" *~*~*~*~*~*~ After all, he was young and handsome...

Luo Hao was sitting at the gallery's back entrance, eating lunch. He couldn't cross his legs, fearing wrinkles on his suit, so he had to keep them straight. He was about to throw up from his McDonald's "poor man's meal." He flipped through the latest job postings, hoping to find a better job, at least to improve his basic needs.

The sound of high heels came from far away and got closer. He looked in the direction of the sound and saw Yu Jinnan walking towards him gracefully. He stared at her with his eyes wide open, but he didn't want to show timidity in front of her, so he pretended to be calm and looked away.

"Instead of reading these useless things, you might as well go back to your country and find a serious job." Yu Jinnan stood beside him with his arms folded, looking condescending.

Luo Hao didn't look up at her, still concentrating on the recruitment brochures. He said coldly, "Why, are you going to support me with a return ticket again? Sure, the Spring Festival is almost here. If you want to buy it, go ahead. I'll come back after the New Year."

Yu Jinnan gritted his teeth and asked him, "When are you leaving?"

He said with a grin, "My parents gave me two years, and it's only been half a year. Please be patient." This Shanghainese man said this with a Beijing accent, which sounded out of place.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Yu Jinnan's bright red high heels walk a few steps away and then come back. He heard the sound of a zipper on a handbag, and then a business card was handed to him. She said, "Go find this person. He will provide you with a decent job."

Luo Hao took it, glanced at the name on it, chuckled contemptuously, and crumpled it into a ball in his palm. He then tossed the paper and the unappetizing "poor guy's meal" into the nearby trash can. He stood up, his hands in his trouser pockets, and faced her face to face. "Even if I were to be a parasite, I wouldn't consider you my host. I looked up your boyfriend the last time I met him from a distance. No matter how broke I am, I wouldn't go begging at his company. Unless, of course, you give me a mission to help you keep an eye on this playboy boyfriend."

Yu Jinnan cast an angry look at him, and she crossed her arms again in a defensive posture, "Let him spend money, that's fine, men like him understand romance! It's better than a pure-hearted little wolfdog like you. You are so obsessed with me, simply because you have too little sexual experience. If you had more girlfriends and seen more of the world, you wouldn't be so stubborn." After she said these words, she turned around and left.

*~*~*~*~*~*~

Being young and handsome, Luo Hao didn't find a new job, but it didn't take him long to find a new girlfriend. The girl had a strong background; her father was a well-known businessman in China, with businesses both domestically and internationally. Qu Qiaoqiao, a woman who had lived in France for years, had spent her entire career in Paris buying luxury goods and investing in art.

While visiting the exhibition at the Bal Gallery, she fell in love with Luo Hao at first sight. The two of them were not shy and rolled into bed in the Qu family mansion that night.

As the other woman moaned softly beneath him, Luo Hao suddenly realized that sex was just that, nothing mysterious. Perhaps it was true, as Yu Jinnan had said, that with more relationships and more sex with different types of people, one's horizons would broaden and one wouldn't be fixated on just one person.

He naturally knew that Princess Qu came to him just as a curious game. There was not much true love between them, but it was easy for them to play around and get what they wanted.

Luo Hao accompanied the newly minted socialite to various occasions. With his pleasing appearance and measured manners, he was a perfectly competent male companion for the little princess, even catching the attention of several other little princesses, who openly and covertly urged him to move on. He simply smiled and politely declined, and others assumed he was devoted to Qu Qiaoqiao.

The social circle in Paris is not very big, so it was not surprising to meet Yu Jinnan and her golden-haired boyfriend again.

Yu Jinnan was surprised to see him standing next to Qu Qiaoqiao, but the look in his eyes when he looked at her was noble and cold.

Taking advantage of the moment when no one was around them, Yu Jinnan seized the opportunity to step forward and ask him, "Why are you with Qu Qiaoqiao?"

Luo Hao slowly spun his red wine glass around and teased her, "Don't you encourage me to have more girlfriends? She's pretty, lively, and comes from a good family. Why not?"

Yu Jinnan frowned and warned him, "She changes boyfriends more often than she changes her bags. Can't you find a decent girl and have a normal relationship?"

Luo Hao chuckled, shrugged, and said, "People choose people based on their personality. I'm not that great either. Every relationship I've had has been a good match for me."

Yu Jinnan ignored the anger his sarcasm brought to her and continued to advise him earnestly, "The Qu family's social circle is quite complicated. Last month, cousin Qu Qiaoqiao was implicated in a drug-taking case in Marseille. Although she's out on bail now, it's probably because her family used connections. She must be a shady person. You've just arrived in France and don't know anything. Don't assume that just because everyone is Chinese, you can hang out with them."

Luo Hao stared at her, and a hint of love emerged from the mockery in his eyes: "You are like a little encyclopedia of my life. You know whatever information you think is good for me, and you tell me everything, regardless of whether I want to hear it or not."

"Luo Hao, since you came to France because of me, I have to be responsible for you--" Yu Jinnan took a step forward with a frown, wanting to get closer to talk.

"Don't—" Luo Hao pushed his hand away and took a step back in resistance: "Don't say that. I'm an adult. Even if you look down on me, don't always put me down. When we were in Hong Kong, you treated me like a younger brother. Now that you're in Paris, what's the matter? Do you want to treat me like your son?"

Yu Jinnan was so anxious that tears welled up in her eyes again. She didn't understand why this guy always made her want to cry.

Luo Hao looked into her tearful eyes, unable to utter the harsher words he had prepared. He turned away stubbornly, not wanting to hear her irritating words anymore.

He wanted to go to the bathroom to wash his face and wash away the haze that had once again enveloped him. Just as he reached the door, he saw a man and woman in front of him slip into the innermost cubicle. The man seemed to be Jinnan's blond boyfriend, and the woman in a tender pink miniskirt he was holding was obviously not his real girlfriend.

He followed her in and heard the man and woman in the innermost compartment start to make out passionately without saying a word, their bangs making the partition bang loudly.

He clenched his fists, his chest heaving violently with rage. He ran to the compartment frantically, pounding on the door, his palms aching from the vibrations, the pain stimulating his brain and making his hatred more clear.

The man in the cubicle impatiently opened the door and was about to curse when he was knocked to the ground by a punch. The woman in the pink skirt screamed and squeezed through the narrow gap in the door to escape.

The compartment was too narrow to maneuver, so Luo Hao grabbed the golden retriever by the collar, dragged him out, and beat him to the ground. The man was no pushover. Initially unresponsive, he took a few blows, but later, finding an opening, he turned and engaged Luo Hao in a brawl. The golden retriever, however, showed no respect for martial virtue and prepared to fight back with whatever metal weapon he could reach.

"Luo Hao!" Yu Jinnan ran over with the staff. When he saw that it was Luo Hao who caused the trouble, he couldn't help but exclaimed.

Luo Hao was distracted when he heard her voice, and was hit hard on the head by the metal frame raised by the golden-haired man. He lost all his strength in an instant due to the pain, and hot liquid suddenly flowed from the corners of his eyes.

Yu Jinnan was so scared that her face turned pale. She pounced on the golden retriever to stop him from continuing to use violence, and then asked about Luo Hao's condition with concern.

Before he could reply clearly in his confused state, he was carried up by security personnel. Qu Qiaoqiao also rushed over after hearing the news and hurriedly arranged to call a doctor and look for an ambulance.

Jinnan's eyes followed Luo Hao the entire time. Seeing the blood pouring from his forehead, she was filled with worry. But she could only stay by his side, holding his restless hands, because she was afraid he would attack Luo Hao again.

Seeing how scared she was, Luo Hao had no choice but to reach over Qu Qiaoqiao's shoulder and mouthed to her with a smile, "I'm fine."

After this incident, the organizer of the banquet was the most embarrassed and just wanted to let the matter go. However, Jinmao insisted on calling the police, so Qu quietly found a sociable helper and finally settled the matter that night and everyone went their separate ways.
