Chapter 102 Boyfriend
Pei Song knocked on the door gently, and Shi Yanchen's low voice came from inside: "Come in."
The moment he opened the door, Pei Song felt a sense of oppression.
Shi Yanchen sat behind his desk, tapping the table with his fingers, his eyes fixed on him.
"Mr. Shi is looking for me?" Pei Song deliberately used the most businesslike tone.
Shi Yanchen stood up and walked around to him. Pei Song subconsciously took a step back.
The two of them moved forward and backward until Pei Song's heels touched the sofa.
Pei Song nimbly slipped out from under his arms and stood beside the desk.
"Is there anything you want to confess, Mr. Shi?" He asked in a serious tone, but there was a smile in his eyes.
Shi Yanchen turned around and grabbed his wrist.
Pei Song struggled to get free but failed, so he simply looked up and looked at him: "What's wrong?"
Shi Yanchen's eyes fell on the corners of his slightly raised mouth, and his voice was low: "Is it fun?"
"I don't know," Pei Song blinked, pretending to be innocent, "Didn't Mr. Shi say he had some work to discuss with me?"
Shi Yanchen took a step closer, and Pei Song moved to the side again, but was blocked by Shi Yanchen's other hand.
"Song Song," Shi Yanchen's voice suddenly became very soft, almost like a sigh, "I miss you so much these days..."
This unguarded show of weakness made Pei Song's heart tremble.
He had never heard Shi Yanchen speak in such a tone. He was usually a strong man, but at this moment he seemed so fragile.
"Sometimes I feel," Shi Yanchen continued, "that in this relationship, I care about you more. Every time I see you avoiding me, I wonder why you can be so calm, while I...can't leave you anymore."
Hearing this, Pei Song was stunned.
He looked up at Shi Yanchen, his confident and determined eyes filled with a helplessness he had never seen before.
"I thought you were always doing it with ease," Pei Song said softly, "as if everything was under your control."
"How could that be?" Shi Yanchen chuckled. "I'm just trying to make myself look reliable enough. In fact, every time I see you, I'm more nervous than you."
Pei Song hugged him and said, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done this. I just feel a little unwilling to be led by you all the time."
"Silly boy," Shi Yanchen tightened his arms, "From the moment I met you, you have been leading me."
The two people hugged each other, and neither of them was willing to let go first.
It turns out that loving someone is not a contest of who wins or who loses, but the courage to be weak for the other person and to take off your disguise.
…
On the morning of the annual meeting, Pei Song had just finished feeding MAX breakfast when he heard Shi Yanchen's voice coming from the cloakroom.
"Songsong, help me put on my cufflinks."
Pei Song pushed open the door of the cloakroom and froze in place.
Shi Yanchen was going to give a speech at the annual meeting in the afternoon, so he was dressed particularly elegantly today.
The dark grey three-piece suit he was wearing was made by a century-old shop on Maximilianstrae. It was made using ancient tailoring techniques and the fabric was limited edition handmade wool fabric.
German rigor and Italian agility are perfectly combined in this suit, and every line silently demonstrates his style and taste.
He combed his brown hair meticulously back, revealing his full forehead, and his stern features became more distinct.
This outfit made his entire aura more fierce, and his every move revealed an unquestionable sense of authority.
Pei Song even felt that the person in front of him was not like Shi Yanchen, who usually played around with him.
"What are you daydreaming about?" Shi Yanchen asked with a low laugh, raising his wrist and shaking it in front of his eyes.
Pei Song finally came to his senses and looked down to see the cufflinks in Shi Yanchen's hand - they were the pair he had given him.
"You wear this today." Pei Song took the cufflinks and his voice unconsciously became a little softer.
"Yes." Shi Yanchen stared at his profile, his voice still low and elegant, "Of course I have to wear the gift you gave me on important occasions."
Pei Song folded his cuffs, gently pinched the base of the cufflink, aligned the fixing pin with the hole, and carefully pushed the cufflink in.
The base of the cufflinks fastened with a "click", and Pei Song carefully smoothed the cuffs.
He could feel Shi Yanchen's condescending gaze on his face, and the oppressive feeling made even his ears start to feel hot.
Obviously, this was someone he was very familiar with, but at this moment, he felt uneasy.
"Do you know what giving cufflinks as a gift means?" Shi Yanchen suddenly asked.
"What does it mean?" Pei Song looked up at him.
"It symbolizes that you are willing to wear the cufflinks for each other for the rest of your life," Shi Yanchen laughed softly, "so you were confessing your love to me at that time."
"I didn't know there was such a saying," Pei Song glared at him while helping him put on the last cufflink, "I just think it suits you very well."
"Really?" Shi Yanchen raised his eyebrows, "Now that you know, do you want to take back the gift?"
"It's too late," Pei Song helped him adjust his tie and said deliberately, "Since you put it on so solemnly..."
"You seem a little afraid of me?" Shi Yanchen noticed that he was deliberately avoiding his gaze.
Pei Song pretended to focus on his hands: "You are dressed so elegantly today that I dare not look directly at you."
Shi Yanchen thought it was a little funny: "In front of you, I will always be the Shi Yanchen who will tease MAX with you."
Pei Song raised his head and met those deep eyes. Seeing the familiar tenderness in them, he couldn't help but curl up the corners of his mouth: "I know, Mr. President."
Shi Yanchen's expression was stern. He took Pei Song's hand, and his light brown eyes were filled with unprecedented solemnity: "Pei Song, are you willing to accept me as your boyfriend?"
Pei Song looked at him in surprise, his heart pounding when he saw his serious expression.
Shi Yanchen slowly lowered his head and placed a kiss on the back of his hand, his voice so low as if he was afraid of waking him from his dream: "Let me be your boyfriend."
Pei Song's throat was choked, and all the words were stuck in his throat, unable to utter a sound.
He was deeply touched by the earnestness in Shi Yanchen's eyes. That deep sincerity directly penetrated his heart, making him not know how to respond for a moment. He could only stare at him blankly.
Seeing that he hadn't responded, the light in Shi Yanchen's eyes dimmed and he smiled disappointedly: "Still not working?" He paused and said, "Sorry, I need to sort myself out." After saying that, he turned around and was about to walk out.
"Why are you leaving?" Pei Song grabbed his sleeve, "I haven't said anything yet!"
He held Shi Yanchen's arm and asked him to turn around. Seeing the slightly red eyes, he felt a lot of pity in his heart: "I thought we had already tacitly agreed to this kind of relationship!"
"Appointment?" Shi Yanchen frowned slightly.
"Otherwise, why would I hold your hand and cuddle with you?" Pei Song rolled his eyes. "I would have kicked you out a long time ago."
Shi Yanchen held his forehead helplessly: "How can I acquiesce to such a thing? I don't want to start something with you inexplicably and end it in a muddle."
"Who said it's over?" Pei Song looked into his eyes, his expression more serious than ever before, "Do you think I'm the kind of person who gets intimate with people casually?"
Shi Yanchen's eyes moved, and he reached out and gently stroked his cheek: "So, I'm your boyfriend for sure?"
Pei Song rubbed his palm and said, "It felt like you were proposing to me in disguise."
"Why, are you willing?" Shi Yanchen raised his eyebrows with a smile in his eyes.
Pei Song blushed and pushed him away: "You're thinking so far ahead before the relationship even starts. You're really..."
"Okay," Shi Yanchen hugged him into his arms, his voice so gentle that it could squeeze water out of him, "Then let's start dating from today."
MAX came over at some point and gently touched their clasped hands with his wet nose.
"Look," Pei Song said with a smile, "MAX has agreed."
Shi Yanchen lowered his head and kissed the top of his head: "I will let you know that this choice is right."
