Chapter 110 New Year's Eve

Chapter 110 New Year's Eve

When I walked out of Pei's gate, it was already late at night.

Pei Song took out his cell phone and replied: "I'm fine, I'll be home soon."

The phone soon vibrated.

"Where are you?" the familiar voice sounded worried.

"Just came out of the house."

"wait for me."

Pei Song stood under the street light, watching his shadow being stretched out.

Shi Yanchen arrived quickly, with the car window rolled down, revealing his worried look.

After Pei Song got in the car, neither of them spoke.

Shi Yanchen just held his hand gently, conveying silent comfort.

"MAX has been lying at the door waiting for you." Shi Yanchen said after a while.

Pei Song smiled and said, "It is becoming more and more spiritual now."

"Want to go get something to eat?"

"Let's go home," Pei Song said, "I want to see MAX."

When he got home, MAX heard the door open and immediately ran over happily, rubbing Pei Song's legs affectionately with his head.

"Miss me." Pei Song squatted down and rubbed its ears.

Shi Yanchen took out a small button device from the paper bag: "Would you like to try it?"

MAX came over and sniffed curiously.

"Come on, let's record first." Shi Yanchen said, "Use your voice for each button."

Pei Song took the instruction manual and looked at it: "What do you want to record?"

"The most basic ones are 'I'm hungry', 'I want to go out and play', and 'I want a hug'." Shi Yanchen said, "Try them first."

Pei Song picked up the first button and pressed the recording button: "Let's eat." His voice was gentle and cheerful.

After recording, Shi Yanchen put the button on the ground: "MAX, come." He made a gesture of pressing the button.

MAX tilted his head to look at it, then stretched out his paw and pressed it carefully.

"Let's eat." Pei Song's voice came from the button.

MAX immediately pricked up his ears and started wagging his tail.

It pressed it again, seeming to be very interested in this little gadget that could make its owner's voice.

"Smart." Shi Yanchen touched its head, "Continue recording the next one."

Pei Song picked up the second button: "Go out and play."

Soon, all three buttons were recorded.

Shi Yanchen fixed them to the ground and arranged them in a row.

"I'll get some snacks so it can establish the connection between the button and the reward." Pei Song got up and went to the kitchen.

At this moment, MAX suddenly pressed the "want a hug" button.

Pei Song's voice rang out: "MAX wants a hug."

"It seems it has learned it." Shi Yanchen said with a smile.

Pei Song came back and picked up MAX: "So you want a hug."

MAX buried his head comfortably in the crook of his neck and purred with satisfaction.

"It's really getting smarter," Shi Yanchen said. "Look, it uses buttons to communicate with us, just like a child."

Pei Song touched MAX's soft fur, and a warm feeling surged in his heart.

"By the way," Shi Yanchen suddenly said, "MAX will have a quarterly physical examination after the New Year. I have already made an appointment."

"Yeah." Pei Song looked down at MAX in his arms, "Don't worry, I'm here with you."

MAX seemed to understand what he said and licked his hand with his tongue.

"Okay, time to go to bed." said Shi Yanchen.

MAX jumped down and pressed the "go out and play" button.

"You still want to go out and play so late?" Pei Song laughed, "Let's talk about it tomorrow."

MAX didn't give up and pressed it again.

"It's just acting coquettishly." Shi Yanchen said with a smile.

Pei Song was about to say something when MAX had already pressed the "want hug" button.

"Okay, okay," Pei Song squatted down, "One last hug."

Just then, MAX pressed the "I'm hungry" button again.

"Didn't you just eat?" Pei Song didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

MAX wagged his tail in a flattering manner and pressed the "want a hug" button several times in a row.

"That's enough," Shi Yanchen said, "If we keep playing, it will be dawn."

Pei Song put the button away: "Let's play again tomorrow."

MAX seemed tired too. He yawned and lay down obediently on his mat.

Shi Yanchen pulled Pei Song towards the bedroom: "It's time for you to rest."

Pei Song held his hand and said, "Stay with me for a while."

Shi Yanchen looked at his slightly tired expression and nodded.

He sat down on the sofa in the room, picked up the book on the corner table, and patted his legs gently: "Come here."

Pei Song lay down and rested his head on his legs.

Shi Yanchen's body temperature came through his pants, making him relax completely.

Shi Yanchen held the book in one hand and gently stroked his hair with the other.

The slender fingers pass through the hair, bringing a comfortable touch.

"Thank you for the hard work today." Shi Yanchen said in a low voice.

Pei Song closed his eyes, with the corners of his mouth slightly raised: "Nothing." He turned over and buried his face in Shi Yanchen's abdomen, "It's enough to have you here."

Shi Yanchen lowered his eyes and watched his gradually relaxed expression, and put the book down unconsciously.

The only lights left in the room were the warm light of the bedside lamp and Pei Song's gradually steady breathing.

Shi Yanchen looked at Pei Song who had fallen asleep and carefully covered him with a blanket, but was reluctant to move for fear of waking him up.

Early in the morning on New Year's Eve, Pei Song was awakened by Shi Yanchen.

"So early." Pei Song watched Shi Yanchen moving things into the trunk in a daze.

"Put the New Year's goods away first." Shi Yanchen said, putting the last gift box into the trunk.

Pei Song then realized that the trunk was filled with exquisite gift boxes, and was stunned: "You prepared so many"

"This is my first formal visit to Auntie." Shi Yanchen said seriously.

"Haven't you met my mother many times before?" Pei Song was a little amused.

"That's different," Shi Yanchen turned around, his expression unusually serious, "This time I'm here as your boyfriend."

Pei Song looked at his nervous expression and felt a sweet feeling in his heart.

MAX was already sitting obediently in the back seat, full of curiosity about the new environment he was about to enter.

As the car drove out of the city, the streets were lined with red lanterns.

The early morning sun shines on the road, bringing with it the unique warmth of the New Year.

When we get to the suburbs, the air becomes fresher.

Pei's mother's courtyard is located next to a grove of camphor trees, and the environment is quiet.

"Mom!" Pei Song saw Pei's mother standing at the door from afar.

"Here you are!" Pei's mother came over with a smile, "This is MAX, right?"

MAX was very good at observing people's expressions. When he saw Pei's mother's gentle smile, he slowly moved closer and wagged his tail gently.

"It's very well behaved." Pei Song said.

Pei's mother squatted down and let MAX smell her hand: "What a handsome child."

"Auntie, Happy New Year." Shi Yanchen walked over, his voice sounding a bit nervous.

Mother Pei looked at the two of them, her eyes reddened: "Okay, okay, come in quickly."

"By the way," Pei Song said, "let's cook the New Year's Eve dinner together today."

"Xiao Shi can cook," said Pei's mother in surprise.

"I'm not very good at it." Shi Yanchen was a little embarrassed.

"It's okay. Today is a good time for Songsong to teach you." Mother Pei tied an apron on her neck. "The ingredients were prepared yesterday, and we were just waiting for you to come."

Pei Song took the apron from his mother and tied it neatly: "I'll make the soup first, then the sweet and sour spareribs."

"Okay, the fish has been marinated. Please help me fry it later." Mother Pei said as she started chopping green onions.
