Chapter 143 Don't be so ruthless
It was not yet ten o'clock when they got home. MAX was already lying at the door waiting for them. When he saw them come back, he immediately wagged his tail to greet them.
"Have you been good today?" Pei Song squatted down and touched its head.
MAX rubbed his hand happily, as if to say "I have always been very good."
The warm water washed over his tired body. Pei Song closed his eyes and recalled today's negotiations.
From being nervous at the beginning to being at ease now, even he himself finds his growth incredible.
When he walked out of the bathroom, drying his hair, he found Shi Yanchen sitting on the edge of the bed, hurriedly closing a book and stuffing it into the bedside table.
"What are you looking at?" Pei Song leaned over curiously.
Shi Yanchen rarely showed a bit of embarrassment: "Nothing."
Pei Song quickly pulled the book out from the bedside table. After seeing the cover, he couldn't help laughing: "Going to the Stars and Seas with You: A Beginner's Guide for Beginners?"
He flipped open the inside pages and found them filled with notes: "Are you learning this secretly?"
Shi Yanchen's ears blushed, which was rare: "I want to give you the best experience."
"Then why don't you just watch the movie?" Pei Song joked, "Wouldn't it be more intuitive?"
"I don't want to see other people's bodies, it's disgusting." Shi Yanchen frowned and said seriously, "I just want to understand you and touch you."
These words made Pei Song's heart skip a beat.
"So how are you doing in your studies?" he asked deliberately.
Shi Yanchen's eyes turned dangerous: "Do you want me to show you what I've learned?"
Before Pei Song could react, his hand had already reached under the hem of her pajamas.
The slender fingers slowly moved up along the spine, and every touch seemed to carry an electric current.
"Here," he said, his fingertips gliding lightly over a spot, "the book says this is a very sensitive area."
Pei Song shuddered: "You...you really study very hard."
"Of course," Shi Yanchen said in a low voice, "This is the most important subject in my life."
His palm moved around Pei Song's waist: "Look, the muscles here will tense unconsciously."
Pei Song's breath was a little unstable, but he was amused by his professional "explanation": "Okay, stop giving me a physiology lesson."
"But I still have a lot of theoretical knowledge that I haven't put into practice," Shi Yanchen pretended to be wronged, "Didn't you always say that I was a good student?"
Pei Song was about to retort, but he was picked up and put on the bed.
Shi Yanchen's movements were gentle yet firm, as if he was practicing a carefully studied chapter.
"Wait," Pei Song held his hand, "You didn't memorize all those books, did you?"
Shi Yanchen nodded seriously: "I took 32 pages of notes and marked the key points."
Pei Song was both angry and amused: "You are a perfectionist."
"Yes," Shi Yanchen lowered his head and kissed him, "especially for you, I must do my best."
Pei Song felt as if he had become his research subject, but was moved by his seriousness.
This man who is so good at planning in the business world, at this moment, is like a student preparing for an exam, putting all his energy into the new course of "pleasing his lover".
"You really are..." Pei Song's face flushed red, "You take it too seriously."
Every touch of Shi Yanchen was precisely calculated, as if he was practicing some complex formula.
His fingers traced Pei Song's outline, his eyes focused as if he was deciphering a difficult problem.
"Theoretical knowledge finally came in handy," he said with a low laugh, "but practice is indeed much more interesting than reading books."
Pei Song was almost amused by his attitude: "Do you really have to turn this into a subject of study?"
"Of course," Shi Yanchen said seriously, "This is the most important course." His palm was placed on Pei Song's waist and moved downward, "You are the perfect teaching material."
"Now it's time to move on to the next chapter," he whispered. "Are you ready?"
Pei Song was almost mad at him: "Can you not divide it into chapters at a time like this?"
Shi Yanchen was very serious: "The book says that we should proceed step by step and not rush. I remember every step very clearly."
His movements were still academically rigorous, yet filled with irrepressible tenderness.
…
The next morning, Pei Song opened his eyes drowsily and felt light all over.
Turning his head, he saw Shi Yanchen sitting beside the bed, studying the medical monograph carefully in his hand.
"Are you still watching?" Pei Song's voice was a little hoarse because he had just woken up.
Shi Yanchen put down the book, leaned over and kissed his forehead: "There were a few places I didn't grasp well enough last night, and I'm reviewing them now."
Pei Song looked helplessly at the neatly stacked professional books on the bedside table: "I really don't know what to say to you..."
Shi Yanchen said seriously: "I find this is much more difficult than writing code. Code has fixed logic, but your reaction always surprises me."
Pei Song blushed and hit him with a pillow: "Can you speak properly?"
MAX pushed the door open at the right time, wagging its tail happily, as if to say "the masters are finally awake."
"I'll go make breakfast for you." Shi Yanchen said gently, "You lie down for a while."
Looking at Shi Yanchen's leaving back, Pei Song buried his face in the pillow, his ears burning red.
This man pursues perfection even in such things. Should we say that he is too serious or too romantic?
Not long after, Shi Yanchen came in with a tray with freshly fried bacon, fried eggs and hot coffee.
"I'm not that squeamish," Pei Song said with a red face, and his ears became even hotter when he thought of the just-right tenderness last night.
"I know," Shi Yanchen sat down beside the bed, "I just want to do this for your own good. By the way, I'm going to S City on a business trip for a few days next week, and the technical team there has some issues that need to be discussed in person."
"How long will it take?" Pei Song took the coffee he handed over.
"About a week," Shi Yanchen said, "when I come back, I'll take you to attend my uncle's 50th birthday party, and meet my mother's relatives."
"You mean Su Mi's father?" Pei Song said with a smile, "Come to think of it, I haven't given Su Mi the gift I brought from Country D yet. I was busy with the project last time."
"If he didn't give it to me, then he didn't give it to me," Shi Yanchen chuckled and hugged him into his arms, with a hint of teasing in his tone, "You are his cousin's fiancé now, what can he say?"
Pei Song laughed in his arms: "Have you forgotten? He is our matchmaker, he shouldn't be so ruthless."
Shi Yanchen bit his nose lightly: "Then when we get married, I will give him a big red envelope."
