Chapter 152: The Debtor Pays
That night, Pei Song returned home earlier than Shi Yanchen, and found MAX lying on the ground, acting in a flattering manner, which was unusual for him.
"I'm in trouble again." He frowned and looked in the direction MAX was looking, only to see a pile of debris scattered next to the shoe cabinet.
When he got closer, Pei Song gasped. It was Shi Yanchen who had just come from JOHN.
New custom leather shoes from LOBB.
The exquisite dark brown calfskin upper was bitten beyond recognition, a large piece of the upper was missing, and the laces were torn into pieces.
The brand logo engraved on the heel was bitten so badly that it can no longer be seen clearly.
"You bastard," Pei Song squatted down to check the pair of valuable leather shoes, "Why did you choose the most expensive one?"
MAX came over cautiously, rubbed his hand with his wet nose, his eyes full of apology.
Pei Song sighed, and carefully put the pair of broken leather shoes into the innermost layer of the shoe cabinet, and covered it with other shoes so that it would not be discovered for a while.
"You naughty boy," he poked MAX's nose, "you only know how to get into trouble."
MAX lay on the ground, looking at him with a wronged expression.
"Okay, okay, I'll keep it a secret for you." Pei Song said helplessly.
MAX has always been a very well behaved boy. It must be because Shi Yanchen has been too busy recently and he wanted to get his attention so he bit his shoes on purpose.
Hearing the sound of the smart lock unlocking, Pei Song quickly stood up and acted as if nothing had happened.
"You're back." He took the initiative to greet Shi Yanchen and took his briefcase. "Are you tired from working today? Do you want to take a bath first?"
Shi Yanchen looked at his unusual attentiveness and raised his eyebrows: "What's wrong?"
"No, nothing," Pei Song avoided his gaze guiltily, "I just think you've been working too hard lately."
"Really?" Shi Yanchen walked towards the shoe cabinet, Pei Song's heart was in his throat.
Fortunately, Shi Yanchen just picked up a pair of home slippers and didn't notice anything unusual.
"Um...I'll go get you a glass of water," Pei Song quickly changed the subject.
"You've been avoiding me at work lately," Shi Yanchen leaned back on the sofa, "but now you're so attentive to me, have you found your conscience?"
"No way," Pei Song handed him the warm water, "Didn't we agree to be more cautious in the company?"
"Keeping distance is a job requirement, I understand," Shi Yanchen took the cup and said meaningfully, "but your performance tonight makes me nervous."
"What are you beating about?" Pei Song thought guiltily about the tragedy in the shoe cabinet and was about to slip away.
"Wait," Shi Yanchen called him, "Why is MAX so quiet today? Doesn't he usually love to stick to me?"
Pei Song looked back and saw MAX hiding behind the sofa, looking like he had done something bad.
"It...may be tired," Pei Song tried to cover up, "I'll make it something delicious later."
Shi Yanchen nodded thoughtfully and didn't ask any more questions.
But Pei Song always felt that he had noticed something.
That night, Pei Song was particularly attentive and even took the initiative to iron Shi Yanchen's pajamas.
Before going to bed, Pei Song went to take a shower. Shi Yanchen stood up and walked straight to the shoe cabinet.
MAX came over at the right time, wagging his tail in a flattering manner.
Shi Yanchen took out the broken pair of shoes and said, "Next time if you miss me, just come to me directly, don't take it out on my shoes."
MAX groaned twice.
Shi Yanchen touched MAX's head and said with a smile, "I'll settle this account with your master."
When Pei Song came out drying his hair, he happened to meet Shi Yanchen's playful gaze.
"You know?" Pei Song subconsciously took a step back, but was picked up by Shi Yanchen and put on the bed.
"The debtor must pay his debt," Shi Yanchen said as he pressed Pei Song down on the bed, "You owe me a lot today."
Pei Song blushed: "How can I owe you anything..."
"You owe me a pair of shoes," Shi Yanchen lowered his head and pecked him lightly on the lips, "but it doesn't matter, I want other compensation."
"What compensation?" Pei Song subconsciously shrank back.
Shi Yanchen did not answer, but kissed him directly.
The kiss started out light, like the brush of a feather, but quickly became deeper.
His hand reached under the hem of Pei Song's pajamas and lingered around her waist.
When Pei Song was kissed to the point of being breathless, Shi Yanchen pulled away slightly: "Compared to the shoes, I care more about the fact that you have been avoiding me."
"I'm not hiding from you..." Pei Song defended in a low voice.
"Then don't try to avoid me anymore," Shi Yanchen lowered his head and kissed him again, "Let everyone know that I am yours."
"Wait..." Pei Song trembled slightly, "MAX is still outside."
Shi Yanchen pressed the smart switch at the head of the bed and the bedroom door closed automatically.
He looked down at the man beneath him, his fingertips resting on the buttons of his pajamas in the light of the bedside lamp.
"Is it possible today?" Shi Yanchen's voice was low and hoarse, and his eyes were so hot that it was frightening.
Before Pei Song could say anything, his mouth was blocked by a new round of kisses.
…
The night light shines in from the high-rise buildings outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting a bright white arc.
Pei Song closed his eyes, his slender fingers unconsciously clenched the bed sheets, his knuckles turned white from the force.
Shi Yanchen's hand covered his, and his bony fingers slowly inserted into his fingers, like two perfectly fitting puzzle pieces finally finding each other.
Their fingers were interlocked, their palms were touching, and even their heartbeats gradually became equal.
Pei Song's fingers trembled slightly, but Shi Yanchen held them tighter.
The pair of bony hands sometimes caressed gently and sometimes restrained forcefully, making Pei Song want to escape but unwilling to break free.
Pei Song buried his burning face in the pillow, but couldn't control the trembling of his whole body.
In the darkness, there was only the sound of each other's breathing, their bodies tightly entangled, as if even the air was filled with this intimacy.
"Drink some water." Shi Yanchen would occasionally stop, pick up the cup of water on the bedside table and gently feed him.
After an unknown amount of time, Pei Song found himself hanging on the edge of the bed, still held in Shi Yanchen's arms.
He opened his eyes dazedly and saw crumpled tissues all over the floor. The newly opened box of tissues on the bedside table was almost empty.
The sky outside the window began to turn white, and the sound of roosters crowing could be heard faintly in the distance.
"What time is it?" He muttered softly, reaching for his phone, his voice tired, "I still have to work overtime..."
Shi Yanchen seemed to notice his movements, adjusted his posture slightly, and hugged him tighter: "Don't go, rest at home today."
Pei Song was silent for a moment, and finally said nothing. He just nodded slightly and closed his eyes again.
