Chapter 33 Spilled Red Wine
"Are you used to living here?" Pei Song asked while adding seasoning to the pot.
"It's OK," Shi Yanchen paused, "I've been used to it since I was a child. I went to boarding school when I was eight years old. I was the only Asian student in my class at that time."
"You lived in the school dormitory at such a young age? Did you miss home at that time?" Pei Song asked with some concern.
Shi Yanchen shook his head: "I can't remember clearly. At that time, the schedule was very full. I got up at six in the morning, and after a morning run, I had physical training, and then various courses. In addition to normal homework, I also had to learn piano, horse riding, and fencing. In the evening, I had extra math, physics, and chemistry tutoring."
"It sounds so hard." Pei Song couldn't help but sigh.
"It's OK. I'm used to it." Shi Yanchen said, "That's how education is there. You have to develop independence from a young age. You have to arrange your own time from the age of ten. Even your holiday plans have to be submitted to the instructor in advance for review. If they are not perfect, you have to rewrite them."
"Can't I go home for Christmas and New Year?"
"I come back occasionally, but most of the time I go to participate in the winter camps organized by the school, go skiing in Switzerland, or go to France to attend a music summer camp." Shi Yanchen said this in a flat tone, as if he was talking about something very ordinary.
Pei Song then realized that the person in front of him had lived in a completely different world from him since childhood.
The elite education that he had only seen in movies was a normal part of daily life for Shi Yanchen.
During the meal, Shi Yanchen asked him how he was adapting to SNK, and Pei Song told him how he rubbed Liu Yan under his feet.
As he got excited, his elbow accidentally knocked over the wine glass, and the deep red liquid spilled onto the white shirt on his chest.
"Oh no..." Pei Song stood up in a hurry, wine stains dripped down his shirt onto his trousers, leaving a dark red mark.
"Don't move." Shi Yanchen immediately took the towel and carefully wiped the wine stains on his shirt.
The distance between them suddenly shortened, and Pei Song could feel Shi Yanchen's breath brushing his ears.
The cold wine stuck to his chest, and the warmth from Shi Yanchen's palm came through his shirt, making his scalp tingle.
"I...I can do it myself." Pei Song felt his ears burning and hurriedly grabbed Shi Yanchen's wrist.
His fingers accidentally touched Shi Yanchen's pulse and felt a strong beating.
Shi Yanchen paused for a moment and looked up at him.
Their eyes met in the air, and Pei Song looked away calmly: "Leon, do you have any clothes to change into?"
"Come with me." Shi Yanchen turned around and took him to the cloakroom.
Shi Yanchen took a set of casual clothes from the hanger and said, "It may be a little big." Then he walked out.
Pei Song changed into Shi Yanchen's clothes, which were indeed one size larger.
He rolled up his sleeves and trouser legs helplessly. There was still a faint and elegant fragrance on his clothes, which was the scent that Shi Yanchen often had.
He walked out of the cloakroom and saw Shi Yanchen asking room service to send his clothes for washing.
Shi Yanchen turned his head and his eyes stayed on him for a while, his eyes deep: "It suits you very well."
These words made Pei Song's face turn red.
After dinner, Shi Yanchen called room service to clean up the dishes.
He drove Pei Song to the living room and brought a plate of cut fruit: "Watch TV or play games?"
"Of course I play games." Pei Song took out his phone, "Do you know how to play games?"
"I've never played it before," Shi Yanchen admitted. "I've been busy with my studies and haven't had time to get involved in these things."
"Then I'll teach you." Pei Song picked up the phone excitedly, "Let's start with the simple ones."
He carefully taught Shi Yanchen the key points of the operation, but he didn't expect that the other party learned it very quickly. Soon, the two of them were fighting fiercely.
"Left! Left!" Pei Song shouted excitedly, "Be careful behind you!"
Shi Yanchen was extremely focused on his work, as if he was treating his doctoral thesis, and his fingers flew nimbly across the screen.
The two of them went through one level after another, completely forgetting about time.
Until Pei Song suddenly saw that the time had passed twelve o'clock: "It's so late, I should go back."
"Let's stay here so late." Shi Yanchen said, "The guest room has been cleaned up a long time ago."
He led Pei Song to one of the guest rooms. The room was spacious and bright, and the bedding on the bed looked particularly soft.
"Call me if you need anything." Shi Yanchen said and left.
Pei Song was lying on the soft big bed, still wearing Shi Yanchen's clothes.
He opened the bedside table and saw the family planning supplies prepared by the hotel. His face turned red.
He buried himself in the quilt, his mind uncontrollably recalling how Shi Yanchen wiped the wine stains off his face tonight, and his deep eyes.
Shi Yanchen's presence seemed to still linger around him, making him toss and turn in sleep.
That night, Pei Song had many strange dreams, all of which were about that tall and cold figure.
The next morning, Pei Song was awakened by the aroma of coffee.
He opened his eyes and found Shi Yanchen standing beside the bed, wearing a dark blue shirt and a tie tied neatly.
"What time is it?" Pei Song asked in a daze.
"Seven thirty." Shi Yanchen handed him a cup of steaming coffee, "Your clothes have been delivered."
After washing up, Pei Song took a small sip of coffee. It was his favorite American coffee, and even the proportion of sugar was just right.
After changing into washed clothes, Pei Song adjusted his tie in front of the mirror.
When he came out after cleaning up, a sumptuous breakfast was already prepared on the table.
"Don't be in a hurry, eat slowly." Shi Yanchen poured him a glass of milk.
Pei Song ate the exquisite sandwich on the plate, while Shi Yanchen quietly drank coffee and looked through emails on his tablet.
After breakfast, Shi Yanchen picked up the car keys and said, "I'll take you there."
"No, it's not far, I can do it myself..."
"The car is already waiting downstairs." Shi Yanchen said in a persistent tone.
In the car, Pei Song looked at the traffic outside the window and thought of the clothes he wore last night: "By the way, your clothes are still here with me. I'll take them back, wash them, and return them to you."
Shi Yanchen did not answer immediately, and after a while he said, "No hurry."
When Pei Song arrived at the company and was about to get into the elevator, he saw Zhou Feng and Liu Yan had also arrived.
"Good morning." Zhou Feng nodded.
Liu Yan looked around Pei Song and noticed that he was still wearing the same clothes as yesterday. He couldn't help but muttered, "Where did you go last night? You didn't even change your clothes."
When Zhou Feng heard this, his gaze lingered on Pei Song's face for a while.
Pei Song pretended not to hear and looked down at his phone. He noticed that Zhou Feng's expression was a little strange and he couldn't help feeling a little annoyed.
The atmosphere in the elevator was a little awkward for a moment.
At noon, Pei Song walked into the company cafeteria with a tray of food. He was about to find a quiet place to sit down when he saw Zhou Feng waving at him.
"Pei Song, here."
