Chapter 53 It's Over It's Over

Chapter 53 It's Over It's Over

The next morning, Pei Song was awakened by a hangover headache.

He opened his eyes and found himself lying in Shi Yanchen's arms, with his arm around his waist.

Memories came flooding back like a tide, and Pei Song woke up instantly.

He looked at the spots on his body, then looked at Shi Yanchen's peaceful sleeping face, his face felt hot as if it was burning.

Pei Song tiptoed into the bathroom and carefully examined the marks in the mirror. The more he looked, the redder his face became.

"It's over, it's over..."

The shirt I wore yesterday was thrown casually on the ground and was completely unsightly.

Pei Song felt hot all over. He rummaged through the closet for some clothes and buttoned them up in a panic.

Everything that happened last night replayed in his mind like a movie, making him wish he could find a hole to crawl into.

He quickly packed himself up and ran out of the room while Shi Yanchen was still asleep.

Rushing to the company in a hurry, Pei Song was almost late.

He straightened his messy collar, trying to make himself look normal.

"Pei Song, are you okay?" Zhou Feng met him at the door of the meeting room and asked with concern, "You drank so much last night."

"It's okay, Mr. Zhou." Pei Song lowered his head, not daring to look him in the eye.

In the conference room, colleagues were quietly discussing the newly appointed President of the Asia Pacific region.

"I heard that the new president is quite young, and seems to be from the same school as Manager Pei." Li Ming turned to ask Pei Song, "Do you know him?"

Before Pei Song could answer, the door of the conference room was pushed open.

A tall figure walked in slowly. He was about 1.9 meters tall and wore a dark grey custom-made suit. He exuded a powerful aura that could not be ignored. He stood in front and looked around the room with his eyes slightly raised. His gaze was indifferent but extremely oppressive.

"Let me introduce myself," he looked around, his eyes lingering on Pei Song for a second longer, "Shi Yanchen."

Liu Yan was swept by that gaze and subconsciously shrank his neck: Why does this person look a little familiar?

Soon, he remembered that the two times he had bullied Pei Song before, he had been warned by this man with cold eyes.

Unexpectedly, the man who frightened him was actually the new president of the Asia Pacific region!

Liu Yan's face turned pale.

Zhou Feng's expression was also a little complicated. He looked at Shi Yanchen, then at Pei Song, and a hint of understanding flashed in his eyes.

Pei Song only felt a "buzzing" in his head, and his whole body was numb.

Shi Yanchen's eyes fell on him again: "I hope we can have a pleasant cooperation in the future."

When he thought about what happened last night, he wished he could disappear immediately.

Shi Yanchen is actually the new president? And he was still...still...

Pei Song bit his lip, not daring to look up into the man's eyes.

He could feel Shi Yanchen's eyes on him, making him even more embarrassed.

A surge of anger welled up in his heart. This person clearly knew that he would take up the position, but he had been hiding it from him.

Damn alcohol, damn Shi Yanchen, is it fun to play tricks on him?

He didn't remember a single word of what was said at the meeting.

After the meeting, Pei Song rushed into the bathroom and locked the door.

He turned on the faucet, and the cold water splashed on his burning face, but it couldn't extinguish the anger and shame in his heart.

The person in the mirror had a flushed face, and the faint marks on his collar stung his eyes.

The memories of last night flashed back in his mind like a slide show, and every frame made him feel ashamed.

"Dong Dong"-

There was a hurried knock on the door.

"Pei Song." Shi Yanchen's voice was still cold, "Come out and talk."

"Go away!" Pei Song buried his face in his palms, "I don't want to see you."

There was silence outside the door for a few seconds: "How long do you plan to hide?"

"You've been lying to me for so long anyway, so why waste a little time here?" Pei Song gritted his teeth and said, "The new president must be very busy, so why waste time here?"

"I didn't lie to you." Shi Yanchen lowered his voice a little, "It's just that the time is not right, so I can't reveal it."

"Oh, timing?" Pei Song sneered, "Then the timing last night was very suitable?"

Shi Yanchen was silent for a moment, then said, "I admit that I lost control last night, but this has nothing to do with my position, you know."

"I don't know anything." Pei Song's voice was trembling. "I only know that you deliberately hid it from me, watching me being played like a fool by you."

"Every time I guide you and care about you, it comes from the heart." Shi Yanchen's tone became serious, "I have never treated you as a toy."

There were voices outside and a colleague was walking towards this side.

"I need some time." Pei Song took a deep breath and lowered his voice, "Let me be alone for a while."

An almost inaudible sigh came from outside the door.

"Okay." Shi Yanchen paused, "I'll wait for you in the parking lot after get off work."

The footsteps gradually faded away, and Pei Song punched the wall hard.

This person is always like this, arranging everything on his own and not even giving him a chance to get angry.

At the end of the get off work day, the lights on the entire floor went out one by one, leaving only a small spot on Pei Song's office desk still lit.

He stared at the computer screen, adjusting the position of the mouse, fiddling with the pen holder at hand, but he didn't want to get up and leave.

The sky outside the window had already turned dark, and his slightly haggard face was reflected on the glass.

Pei Song looked at the time and it was already past nine o'clock.

The office area was empty except for a cleaning lady pushing a tool cart passing by. When she saw he was still there, she gave him a puzzled look.

"Manager Pei, why aren't you leaving so late?"

Pei Song forced a smile: "Right away, I'll sort out the documents."

After the cleaning lady's footsteps disappeared at the end of the corridor, he slowly stood up and cleaned the table meticulously.

Every minute of procrastination seems like I’m making excuses for myself - the parking lot should be empty at this time, right?

The elevator went down to the basement, and as soon as the cold metal door opened, Pei Song's heart sank.

The Bentley was still parked in its old position, glowing with a low-key metallic luster under the dim light.

He could almost imagine Shi Yanchen's expression at the moment, the kind of calmness and indifference yet with an irresistible dominance.

Pei Song bit his lip, deliberately made a big circle, and pretended not to see the car.

As soon as he walked around the pillar, he heard the sound of the car door opening and the man's unique, unhurried footsteps.

"Get in the car."

Pei Song quickened his pace, but his heartbeat accelerated uncontrollably.

The person behind him caught up with him in a few steps and dragged him to open the passenger door: "Don't be angry."

"I'm not in a bad mood." Pei Song hid to the side, with a bit of stubbornness in his voice, "I just want to walk back, is that not okay?"

"It's so late, how long do you plan to walk?" Shi Yanchen asked.

Pei Song stiffened his neck and said, "Don't worry about it, Mr. President."

"Do you really want me to do it?" Shi Yanchen lowered his voice with a hint of danger.
