Chapter 63 What does it have to do with me?

Pei Song woke up early the next morning.

He lay in bed, listening to the voices and the clatter of dishes coming from downstairs, knowing that Grandma Pei must be preparing for today's "blind date".

He took out his cell phone and sent a message to Su Mi: "Are you home?"

I received a reply very quickly: "Yes, what's the matter?"

"Can I come to your house?"

"Of course, my mom has made a lot of delicious food."

Pei Song breathed a sigh of relief and quickly got up to wash.

He tiptoed downstairs and slipped out of the house while Grandma Pei was busy in the kitchen.

When he arrived at Su Mi's house, Pei Song just rang the doorbell and the door opened from the inside.

"Song Song is here!" Su Mi's voice was very excited, "Come in quickly, my mother has made a lot of delicious food."

Pei Song followed him into the room and saw Shi Yanchen sitting on the sofa, chatting with Su Mi's mother.

Both of them were stunned for a moment, obviously not expecting to meet each other here, and a subtle atmosphere instantly filled the air.

"Hello, Auntie." Pei Song greeted politely.

"Oh, Song Song is here." Su Mi's mother said with a smile, "Look, you have become more handsome again! After returning from Country D, you haven't come to see Auntie once."

Pei Song smiled shyly and handed over the gift bag in his hand: "I brought you some snacks."

"Just come, why bring a gift?" Su Mi's mother scolded, but still took the gift bag, "I still miss the lemon tart you made last time. When can you make it for Auntie again?"

"Okay, I'll make it for you next time." Pei Song said with a smile.

Su Mi lowered her voice in his ear and asked, "You don't mind my cousin being here too, right?"

"It's none of my business." Pei Song glanced uncomfortably in Shi Yanchen's direction, "He can go wherever he wants."

"Oh~" Su Mi looked at him, then at Shi Yanchen, with gossip clearly in her eyes.

Pei Song was about to say something when his cell phone vibrated.

He took it out and saw that it was Grandma Pei calling.

He just turned it off, and it rang again a few seconds later.

He hung up again, and then received several text messages.

"Where are you? Miss Zhang will be here soon!"

"If you don't come back..."

"You are such an ungrateful thing!"

Pei Song impatiently turned his phone to silent mode, but he could still see the screen lighting up.

Shi Yanchen had been observing him silently.

Seeing him refusing to answer the phone again and again, his expression became more and more upset, and his brows became more and more furrowed.

"Xiao Mi," Su Mi's mother called from the kitchen, "Come and help me."

"Coming!" Su Mi stood up and walked towards the inner room.

Pei Song and Shi Yanchen were the only ones left in the living room.

"Are you in trouble?" Shi Yanchen asked.

"Nothing." Pei Song denied subconsciously, feeling a little guilty.

Shi Yanchen glanced at him and didn't ask any further questions.

"I'll go see if Auntie needs any help." Pei Song stood up and went to the kitchen.

Shi Yanchen looked at the direction he left and followed him.

There was a burst of fragrance wafting from the kitchen. Su Mi's mother was frying meatballs. The golden and crispy meatballs were taken out of the boiling oil pan, still steaming.

Su Mi was "helping" on the side, or to be more precise, "robbing" - every time his mother fried a cake, he couldn't wait to stuff one into his mouth.

"My greedy son," Su Mi's mother said, both angrily and amusedly, "It's been half an hour since we fried them, and not a single one is left."

"Hehe," Su Mi said indistinctly while biting a meatball, "Life was so hard when I was studying in Country D. I had to eat dry bread every day. I'm drooling over this."

He turned to look at Shi Yanchen and Pei Song: "I really envy cousin Leon. When cousin and Songsong lived together in Country D, he could enjoy Songsong feeding him every day."

When Shi Yanchen and Pei Song heard this, they couldn't help but look at each other, then quickly looked away.

"Hey, are you living together in Country D?" Su Mi's mother asked in surprise.

"Yes, yes," Su Mi rushed to explain, "At that time, Song Song was changing houses in Country D, and my cousin happened to have a vacant room, so he introduced them to each other."

Pei Song lowered his head and adjusted his cuffs a little awkwardly: "Well, I was very grateful to Mr. Shi for taking me in."

"You're still called 'Mr. Shi' now." Shi Yanchen looked at him with a smile.

Pei Song pretended not to hear this, turned to Su Mi's mother and said: "Auntie, I see you are kneading dough, are you going to make dumplings?"

"Yes, I wanted to make dumplings for you for lunch." Su Mi's mother said with a smile, "But I'm afraid I won't have enough time if I make them all by myself."

"Let me help!" Su Mi raised his hand immediately.

"Come on," Su Mi's mother said bluntly, "the ones you made last time were so ugly that even dogs wouldn't want to eat them."

"Then let Songsong teach cousin how to make dumplings," Su Mi said with a naughty smile, "cousin is so smart, he will definitely learn quickly."

Just as Shi Yanchen was about to speak, he heard Su Mi's mother agree, "Yes, Song Song's dumplings are so pretty. Last time she made dumplings stuffed with chives. The thin skin and beautiful folds made them look like works of art."

Pei Song felt a little embarrassed by the two people's repeated comments: "It's not that exaggerated..."

"That's settled then!" Su Mi slapped the table and turned to Shi Yanchen and said, "Cousin, it's rare to meet such a good teacher, you must study hard."

Shi Yanchen raised his eyebrows and looked at Pei Song: "Okay, Manager Pei, please give me more advice."

The hint of teasing in his tone made Pei Song's ears turn red.

Soon, a board was spread out on the table and the chopped stuffing was placed on it.

Pei Song first demonstrated it, using his nimble fingers to create beautiful folds.

"It looks simple." Shi Yanchen said as he picked up a piece of dough, but he encountered difficulties when putting the filling in it - there was too much filling and he couldn't wrap it up.

"It should be like this," Pei Song suppressed his laughter, holding his hand and adjusting the angle, "First pinch this side, then slowly move it towards the middle..."

Their hands touched accidentally, and they both felt something strange in their hearts.

Su Mi watched with great interest from the side, and only pretended to concentrate on kneading the dough when Shi Yanchen gave her a sidelong glance.

"Hey, why is this crooked?" Su Mi's mother looked at the strange-shaped "dumpling" in Shi Yanchen's hand and couldn't help laughing.

"This is called artistic innovation." Shi Yanchen said seriously, but there was a hint of helplessness in his eyes.

The president who is invincible in the business world is now stumped by a tiny dumpling.

"Try again." Pei Song picked up a new piece of dough and patiently taught again.
