Chapter 104 Arresting People

Seeing Sun Qi lying on the ground, clinging tightly to the leg of the man surnamed Song, Song's fists rained down on his back, shattering his glasses and throwing them aside. Blood gushed from his mouth and nose. Sun Qi's eyes were red, and he seemed numb with pain, beaten to the point of near death.

Jiang Shuya was heartbroken and her face was covered in tears. Lin Moxiao stepped forward and punched the man surnamed Song in the face. Then they fought again until they were both exhausted and their hands were on their knees. Lin Moxiao had several wounds on his face, but his eyes were cold and firm. The man surnamed Song was like iron, with a ferocious and sinister expression, but his face was not damaged at all.

Jiang Shuya approached with tears streaming down her face, squatted down, and hugged Sun Qi's head, repeatedly comforting her, "The police will be here soon, you'll be alright, just bear with it a little longer."

Sun Qi forced open his eyes, forcing a strained smile. He paused and said, "Sister-in-law, I'm fine. I won't die. I'm still waiting for you to introduce me to a girlfriend."

Jiang Shuya's tears fell onto his face, mingling with the snow on his face. She nodded quickly, "I definitely will. I'll find the best in the world for you. I've always treated you like a younger brother. Your pan-fried buns are so delicious. You must open a shop in the future, right?"

Sun Qi's eyes were blurred with tears, and there were traces of blood on her white teeth. Her voice was hoarse as she said, "Yes, I think so too. My sister-in-law has helped me twice. If she helps me again, it will be the third time, and the last time. She can't help me anymore. I have to rely on myself."

Jiang Shuya nodded firmly: "Yes, sister-in-law believes in you, you are the best, I have high hopes for you."

Just then, a police siren approached, and a beam of light shone on their faces. The police car had finally arrived, and a team of criminal police officers jumped out of several vehicles in an instant, standing in a neat row, waiting for their superior's order. Two of the officers, dressed in their uniforms, stepped forward and asked, "Who called the police?"

Upon hearing this, Jiang Shuya stood up and replied, "It's me."

The man then came over, took out his work ID, and began to explain.

Ah Qi, who had fallen to the ground with a mouthful of snow on his face, closed his eyes and lay flat on the ground, heartbroken and ashen-faced. He had fought desperately to the last minute, but now all was lost.

The man surnamed Song struggled for a moment before being subdued by two criminal police officers. His eyes were bloodshot with rage as he stared intently at Lin Moxiao. His hands were handcuffed. A Qi was carried onto a stretcher like a dead dog, his hands also cuffed. Jiang Shuya pointed to the reeds and said, "There was another one over there just now."

Upon hearing this, two criminal police officers quickly went down into the reeds to search.

Jiang Shuya watched as Sun Qi was also lifted onto a stretcher, offering a few words of comfort before he was taken to the hospital.

Jiang Shuya then remembered the children inside and quickly went inside. The room was empty, dark, and cold, with no lights. The three children lay there quietly, as if the terrifying events outside had nothing to do with them. At this moment, one of the children frowned, his whole body began to convulse, and he opened his mouth to cry, but his throat seemed to be blocked, and he could not make a sound. Jiang Shuya picked him up and walked outside: "Come and save him, he seems to be sick."

Upon hearing this, the commander strode over, took the child, and put him directly into the police car, ordering him to be taken to the hospital immediately. Subsequently, the two children inside the house were taken away one after the other.

Old You, who was in the car, was also forcibly handcuffed. Two policemen who had been patrolling the riverbank came over to report the details, saying that they had not found any trace of Huang Tao. Jiang Shuya was startled and suddenly thought of something. She pointed to a spot not far from Old Chen's fishpond and said, "There was a small boat there before. See if it's still there. If it's not, it means Huang Tao rowed away and escaped."

Upon hearing this, the two police officers immediately went over to investigate.

The distance from there to the other side of the river is very narrow. In summer, even someone who can swim could easily reach the other side. But now, in winter with snow, the river water is icy cold, so Huang Tao would definitely not go into the water.

At this moment, a police officer surnamed Luo stepped forward and said, "Ms. Jiang, on behalf of the three children, I would like to thank you for rescuing them. Your wholehearted help, your fearlessness in the face of danger and your willingness to sacrifice have saved three families from a lifetime of suffering."

Jiang Shuya: Where is my benevolence and boundless love? This time it was purely out of revenge, and I just stumbled upon it by accident.

Huang Tao still managed to escape, making it all seem like a wasted effort. Sun Qi was almost beaten to death because of him. She felt a mix of bitterness, frustration, and sadness, and tears streamed down her face.

Suddenly, I thought of Lin Moxiao. I saw him sitting on the ground, still covered in snow, looking rather depressed. A detective went over to ask him something, but he just shook his head.

Jiang Shuya stepped forward and tugged at his sleeve: "Can you get up? The ground is very cold."

Lin Moxiao looked up at her, stood up to meet her gaze, her eyes filled with undisguised affection.

Jiang Shuya pulled a small tissue from her pocket and wiped the bloodstains off his face. Several scratches on his handsome face could not hide his loneliness and paleness.

He suddenly hugged Jiang Shuya tightly, so tightly that he was afraid she would disappear, as if it were a life-or-death separation, and he would never see her again.

Jiang Shuya understood his feelings at that moment and felt a little guilty. Because of her own selfishness, the life-or-death struggle just now was only a matter of a moment and she almost killed them. She was the biggest villain.

"I'm sorry, I almost got you into trouble. I shouldn't have brought you here." Jiang Shuya knew that saying these things was useless, but she still sincerely apologized to him.

Lin Moxiao frowned and shook his head, placing his hands on her shoulders and saying earnestly, "No, I don't blame you. I even feel that this is the closest I've ever been to you, and I will never regret it."

Jiang Shuya glanced at him, deliberately avoiding his intense gaze, and went to Officer Luo to inquire about Huang Tao's whereabouts.

Officer Luo said regretfully, "We've already patrolled the riverbank. We'll expand the search area next. The boat is definitely no longer there. When we get back, we'll set up a special task force to launch a full-scale manhunt for Huang Tao. Come with us to the police station! Tell us in detail what you found and heard today."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Shuya said, "Okay, that's perfect, I was just about to report the case too."

The wrap-up work was quickly completed. Officer Luo left a few investigators to continue the search along the riverbank before joining them at the police station.

At the police station, Jiang Shuya recounted the entire incident of Huang Tao harassing her in the middle of the night. The witness was Sun Qi. No one was home that day, which gave Huang Tao an opportunity to take advantage of her. Fortunately, she was very vigilant and found Sun Qi as a helper, which prevented Huang Tao from succeeding.

"Why wasn't the police called after it happened that day?" Officer Luo asked.

Jiang Shuya said helplessly, "Huang Tao threatened us at the time, saying that if we told anyone, he would retaliate against us. Besides, even if we had called the police at the time, he wouldn't have been sentenced for long since it was an attempted rape. He has a criminal record, and he will definitely retaliate against us after he gets out."
