Chapter 145 Ring Toss Game 2

Jiang Shuhuai wiggled his nose, then greeted the customers with a beaming smile and boundless energy.

When Jiang Shuya packed up her stall and went home in the evening, she counted the remaining small items. Most of the small items that were easy to sell had been given away, leaving only some toy guns, robots, lanterns, gift-boxed building blocks, and lifelike dolls.

The two sat contentedly at the living room table, happily taking out their canvas bags. Jiang Shuhuai emptied all the money inside, and seeing the scattered bills, he couldn't stop smiling. He leaned over the table to count the money one by one, and after a moment, the total came to 3216.

According to the prices recorded in Uncle San's ledger, after deducting the approximate cost, the net profit was two thousand yuan. Jiang Shuya put away the two thousand yuan and joked.

Do you still regret quitting your job? Which job paid more?

Jiang Shuhuai scratched his ear and chuckled.

"I knew my older sister would take me out. At this rate, if I just keep setting up my stall until the Lantern Festival, I can easily become a millionaire!"

"That's a must. I'm not saying this to you, but next time don't just sell your labor so easily. Use your brain! Look, I'm the only one who lets you hang out. Your serious, studious second sister never plays with you."

Jiang Shuya pointed to Shu Huai's forehead and said seriously;

"Don't tell Mom and Dad I'm here, understand?"

Jiang Shuhuai looked puzzled;

"Why haven't you told me why you ran away from home? Did you have a fight with your brother-in-law?"

"Don't ask questions you shouldn't. I'm helping you make money, so hurry up and cook, I'm starving!"

Jiang Shuya looked impatient.

Jiang Shuhuai hung his head, not getting the answer he wanted, and reluctantly went to the kitchen, where he was told what was coming.

"Is it okay if I only have frozen dumplings in the freezer?"

"Sure, I'll eat anything, I'm not picky."

Jiang Shuya knew that she didn't cook or wash dishes, so she was never picky about food.

The next day, Jiang Shuya received three times the amount of goods from her third uncle compared to the previous day, and also added some higher-priced toys. Her third uncle watched her distribute the goods with a beaming smile, guessing that she must have tasted success the day before, and quickly asked:

"Xiaoya, your cousin is on vacation and spends all her time watching dramas at home. Her eyes are going blind. I'm asking her to come over and help you out. Can you take care of her for a bit?"

Jiang Shuya's eyes widened upon hearing this, and she said with a grin:

"Third Uncle, are you kidding me? With your business acumen, which you've taught by example, there's no need for me to interfere. My cousin is still young and at the age where she loves to play. It's normal that she can't settle down to help you with the stall."

“She’s sixteen already, not a child anymore. She stays at home all day doing nothing, and her mother can’t control her. She’s always arguing with me, and we can’t do anything about her.”

Uncle San sighed helplessly. When talking about his daughter, he felt powerless. He was busy all day long, like a spinning top, just to give his children a financially secure home.

An outsider settled down in Nanjing on his own, bought a house, and transferred his daughter's household registration from his hometown to attend high school in Nanjing. Fortunately, his cousin Jiang Shuyun was quite promising and had a talent for studying. However, her relationship with his aunt was very complicated and not as close as that of a mother and daughter.

After saying goodbye to her third uncle, Jiang Shuya and Jiang Shuhuai rode together on a tricycle to the Phoenix West Street market they had visited the day before. After setting up their stall, Jiang Shuya took a large canvas bag filled with spare goods and handed it to Jiang Shuhuai. Then, she rode her tricycle alone to Chating East Street.

Upon arriving at the location, I saw a bustling street with crowds of people coming and going. The lively tourist area sold all sorts of things, including rare art performances. The further I went in, the more I discovered that there was even a ring toss game. I had a bad feeling that something was wrong.

It's quite normal for such a bustling street like Dongda Street, which is also close to the scenic area, to have such an attraction.

Jiang Shuya sat in the car for a long time, observing the ring toss stall. The man had probably just arrived and noticed that the small commodities on his stall were all cheap goods. Many of the toys and supplies were disposable and of questionable quality. They were just cheap prizes for a momentary hobby, and many of the items were really not presentable.

After observing for a while, Jiang Shuya continued walking in and finally found a relatively large space at the T-junction on the street corner. She arranged the goods neatly according to the size of the stone bricks, and just like yesterday, she placed the stationery she had carefully selected today at the front.

Music boxes, glass toys, and lifelike dolls were placed in the middle, while at the very back were lantern robots, toy guns, and exquisite porcelain dolls. Everything was available. Before they were even set up, an elderly grandfather came to the stall with a five or six-year-old girl by the arm.

The girl watched as her grandfather kept pointing at the porcelain doll:

"Grandpa, I want that. Buy it for me."

Jiang Shuya greeted the adorable little girl politely:

"Hey pretty girl, we're having a ring toss game. It's one yuan a ring. Would you like to try it out?"

"Then give us ten laps, let her experience it." Grandpa said, handing over a ten-yuan note.

Jiang Shuya quickly counted ten circles for the little girl after drawing the lines. Grandpa stood aside, watching her with a smile, his eyes full of love.

The girl threw out several rings with a "whoosh" sound, but none of them got close to the target. She threw out the last few rings in her hand, but none of them hit the target. She was so anxious that she stomped her feet. Her grandfather, who was standing next to her, asked for twenty more rings and told her to throw them one by one, not all at once.

The girl understood immediately and threw each ring carefully, but due to insufficient force, she still caught nothing. After throwing the last ring, the little girl looked at her grandfather with teary eyes, reluctant to part with the porcelain doll. Finally, the grandfather asked directly:

"Young lady, would you sell this doll? My granddaughter really likes it."

Jiang Shuya smiled upon hearing this, glanced at the little girl, and said softly:

"That porcelain doll costs fifty. How about this, you buy twenty more rings. If you ring them all, they're yours. If you don't, I'll give them to you for free. It's not worth it for you to spend fifty now."

At this moment, the girl stamped her foot, looked up expectantly at her grandfather, and received a look of agreement. She cheered and ran to the stall, picked up the rings from the ground, and started throwing again. The grandfather smiled and took out another twenty yuan, nodding repeatedly.

"Thank you so much, young lady! You're a shrewd businesswoman and a very conscientious person."

The little girl paused for a moment, then threw the shuttlecock randomly, and surprisingly hit it. Although it wasn't the one she wanted most, she still jumped up excitedly.

"Grandpa, look, aren't I amazing? I caught it!"

Grandpa looked at her encouragingly, gave her a thumbs-up, and then, seeing the porcelain doll Jiang Shuya handed him, said, "You can only choose one. Which one do you want?"
