Back on Chating East Street, Jiang Shuya sorted out the goods she had bought from her third uncle during this period. She found Jiang Shuyun not far from the scenic area. When she saw her cousin coming over, Jiang Shuyun smiled ingratiatingly and came closer to her.
"Cousin, let me tell you, I've been working really hard these past few days while you were away. I've earned just as much money as I did the other two days you supervised me. But, do you still have that chocolate?"
That was the idea in mind, Jiang Shuya suddenly realized, and looked puzzled;
"I've finished all four boxes."
"Hmm, is there any more? You can't buy it here anymore, so having money is useless. I bought some at the imported goods store yesterday, but it wasn't good at all; the taste was nowhere near as good."
Jiang Shuyun's round face shone as she handed over the account book she had kept for the past few days.
"No more, we'll never get to eat that again." Jiang Shuya glanced at the accounts Jiang Shuyun had kept over the past few days, quite satisfied, and took out two thousand yuan from her purse to give it to her;
"This is for you. Today is the Lantern Festival, the last day."
Jiang Shuyun happily accepted the money, completely forgetting about the chocolates she didn't have. She knew these were money she had worked hard to earn over a week, and as a student, how could she not be happy?
That evening, Jiang Shuya returned to Lianhua's residence and tallied up the results of the past ten days with Jiang Shuhuai. She was so excited about counting the money that she even got a little carried away, and Jiang Shuhuai couldn't help but tease her.
"Sis, I want to buy a laptop and get a driver's license."
Jiang Shuya looked at the money in her hand and asked how much she needed. Jiang Shuhuai hesitated and told her that it would be around 12,000 yuan.
The money was finally counted. After deducting all costs, there was a net profit. Jiang Shuhuai looked at the money and scratched his head embarrassedly.
"Let's forget about it. We can buy it later when we have more money."
"You can buy it, as long as you keep making money, right?" Jiang Shuya countered.
"Oh, how are we going to make money? The scenic area won't allow stalls tomorrow." Jiang Shuhuai asked doubtfully.
Jiang Shuya counted out twelve thousand and gave it to him, then continued;
"You don't have many classes in the afternoons at university, right? I need you to help pick up and ship goods at the mall from 3 PM to 10 PM. Your second sister operates the online shopping website. I'll train you for two days, and then you can do this part-time job. It's definitely better than doing manual labor outside."
Jiang Shuhuai was surprised;
"Isn't that your livelihood? What would you do with it if I gave it to you? Doesn't raising Tangtang cost money?"
Jiang Shuya patted his head;
"Of course I want to make money! I'm planning to register another fast food restaurant. I have a new goal. I already have partners, and I'm going to go out and expand the business. I'll print some pictures of the food and fast food, and you can help me distribute them."
Jiang Shuhuai scratched his head shyly, then felt a pang of heartache.
"I heard your brother-in-law is back. Why are you always fighting this battle alone? Like with your stall lately, why didn't you ask him to help? You wouldn't have to work so hard."
Jiang Shuhuai was clearly dissatisfied with Huang Minghao. In his memory, he had never seen his sister and brother-in-law go through thick and thin together.
Although he was only twenty years old, he understood a principle: a man should be able to support his family and protect them from hardship.
From childhood to adulthood, most of the heavy and tiring work at home was done by his father, Jiang Donglai, while his mother was the one who gave orders and led the way. His father was always a man of action, but things were different with his older sister. Whether it was leading or taking action, his sister was always the one charging ahead, which puzzled him greatly.
Jiang Shuya had no intention of figuring out Jiang Shuhuai's thoughts. She simply told him tactfully that many things are done willingly, not by force, and that things obtained through scheming would make others uncomfortable.
She naturally couldn't say that her relationship with Huang Minghao had come to an end. Although it had only just ended, that tacit understanding had never existed before. Her more than ten years of marriage in her previous life was a bloody lesson: indifference, neglect, loneliness, solitude, depression, insomnia, anxiety, and death.
"Sis, Mom called me yesterday. You haven't visited her to wish her a Happy New Year yet. You should go see her, or she'll nag you endlessly."
Jiang Shuhuai looked distressed.
Sure enough, Li Dalan was angry. Her own daughter didn't even come to deliver holiday gifts during the Lunar New Year, which was extremely unfilial.
Jiang Shuya put the money in her canvas bag, counted out two thousand yuan again, put it in a red envelope, and then urged Jiang Shuhuai to cook. She had eaten that luxurious set meal early in the morning, and now her stomach was starting to rumble.
Jiang Shuhuai quickly took two small roast chickens from the microwave and placed them in front of her;
"I've already prepared everything. I even have an egg drop soup and some vegetable pies simmering in the pot."
A moment later, the two of them each grabbed a roast chicken and started gnawing on it, eating with great satisfaction. Perhaps it had been a long time since they had a proper meal, because Jiang Shuya ate a lot until she couldn't hold it any longer and ran to the toilet several times while clutching her stomach. She knew that her stomach was protesting again, making her accept the punishment.
Seeing that she was uncomfortable, Jiang Shuhuai cooked her some rice porridge. After eating the warm food, she calmed down for a while. After washing up, she dragged her eyelids and lay motionless on the bed.
She had fallen asleep and forgotten to cover herself with the blanket. Jiang Shuhuai frowned as he helped her cover herself with the blanket.
Unexpectedly, Jiang Shuya's phone rang. There was no name on the caller ID. Jiang Shuhuai hesitated for a moment, but couldn't bear to disturb his sister, so he answered the phone.
"Hello, who is this?" "Jiang Shuhuai"
Lin Moxiao felt a pang of anxiety when she heard a man's voice on the other end of the phone.
"I'm looking for Jiang Shuya."
"I'm so sorry, she's asleep. Is there something you need from her?"
Jiang Shuhuai recognized that it wasn't Huang Minghao's voice.
Lin Moxiao's heart pounded; "May I ask who you are to him?"
Jiang Shuhuai;
"Oh, I'm her younger brother, Jiang Shuhuai."
Lin Moxiao breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this, her mood improved even more, and she became increasingly curious about Jiang Shuhuai;
"Hello, my name is Lin Moxiao. It's nice to meet you. May I get to know you?"
Jiang Shuhuai was completely bewildered;
Isn't this person looking for his sister? Why does he need to know me?
Seeing that the other party did not respond, Lin Moxiao also felt a bit abrupt;
"Oh, don't get me wrong, I just enjoy making friends. When I see young men around my age, I often go to the gym, play sports, play video games, or sing together."
"Oh, you like video games and singing too? I like both of those."
Jiang Shuhuai was not reserved at all, and started talking like a floodgate opened. He found the man on the phone to have a very pleasant, magnetic, and warm voice.
The two chatted about their interests and hobbies for a long time on the phone, discussing them tirelessly until late at night before reluctantly hanging up. They even exchanged contact information.
After hanging up the phone, Lin Moxiao smiled, pondered for a moment, and typed a message on her phone: "For all eternity, only you will remain unchanged. You have always lived in my heart. I firmly believe that all that is lost will return in another form."
The message was edited and sent, but the response was an exclamation mark.
Damn it, this woman blocked him.
