Chapter 201 Let Me Love You

Li Xiaoru was happily trying on the cosmetics she had just bought that day in front of the mirror in her room when Jiang Shuya walked in with Tangtang. Seeing Li Xiaoru putting on makeup, a look of delight appeared on her face.

"Xiaoru, it seems you're quite satisfied with this job; you're integrating very quickly."

"Cousin, my mom said I need to get along well with my colleagues and build good relationships. We're going on a team-building trip with them today, and I'm worried about getting a tan, so I bought a set of skincare products. I've always used yours, but you're older than me, and skincare products are age-appropriate, so yours might not be suitable for me."

This made Jiang Shuya chuckle: "I'm only two years older than you, Xiaoru."

Li Xiaoru continued rummaging through the bottles and jars in front of the mirror, muttering, "Oh dear, I forgot to buy a powder puff. I remember the sales assistant promised to give me one for free."

Jiang Shuya saw her anxious expression: "I have some, do you want me to get it for you?"

Li Xiaoru turned around: "No, that's been used before. I'm afraid it will bleed color and not match my foundation."

Jiang Shuya smiled, her eyes fixed on Tangtang as she rummaged through the cupboard, pulled out a large bag of snacks, took one out, and uttered, "Eat..."

"Sweetie, this isn't a snack for you. Mommy promised to buy it for you, and it would be wrong to buy you a snack that's meant for you."

Li Xiaoru glanced back, frowned, and said, "Cousin, when you go to Lida Shopping Mall to buy snacks this afternoon, could you get me a powder puff? I'll write down the shade number for you."

Jiang Shuya held Tangtang's snacks in her hand and glanced at the clothes in the closet: It seems that her cousin has bought a lot of clothes recently. Girls love to look beautiful, which is understandable. She agreed without thinking.

At noon, Jiang Shuya went to deliver food to the office building in Hexi. She planned to cross the road along Hexi Avenue to buy baby food at Lida Shopping Mall. When she passed Hexi Linlang Bar, she saw Lin Moxiao walking out of the door.

It turned out that Lin Moxiao and Wang Ziliang drank until very late last night, and the two of them simply booked a VIP room and stayed overnight. Wang Ziliang got up early this morning to go to work, leaving Lin Moxiao to sleep soundly.

Upon seeing Lin Moxiao, Jiang Shuya reacted as if she had seen a demon. They exchanged a glance, and then she took off running.

Lin Moxiao, seeing the person she had been longing for day and night, was not about to let the opportunity slip by, and chased after him.

Jiang Shuya started running, glancing back as she went: "Damn it, I must have run into a ghost today, such bad luck."

Lin Moxiao, close behind, called out as she chased, "Xiaoya, Xiaoya, don't run! Listen to me!"

Just as they were about to catch up, Jiang Shuya was already panting heavily and couldn't outrun them at all. Although she was wearing sneakers, they were clearly at a disadvantage.

Just as she was about to turn around, he pulled her into a tight embrace, holding her firmly: "You can't escape, don't waste your energy."

His voice was gentle, his scent familiar, and his chest strong. Jiang Shuya had no time to appreciate the sudden embrace. She struggled with all her might, but was still held captive in his arms.

A restrained, stoic voice came from inside: "Xiaoya, don't go, don't run away. Listen to me, listen to me, okay?"

Jiang Shuya shook her head desperately, struggling, as if floating lightly in his arms.

Lin Moxiao tidied her messy hair at her forehead, trying to calm her down. He couldn't help but kiss her, but she quickly turned her face away, not giving him any chance.

His hands gripped her slender waist tightly, as if he could easily crush her. Jiang Shuya saw his wrist, hardened her heart, lowered her head and bit down hard. She heard the man let out a muffled groan.

Lin Moxiao's brows furrowed in pain, and he held her tightly with one hand, not giving her a chance to escape. Even if she was about to bite off a piece of his flesh, he would grit his teeth and endure it.

The same method worked twice, but it stopped working. Jiang Shuya released his wrist, revealing bloody teeth marks and bright red bloodstains that were shocking to the eye. The flesh she had bitten was mangled and twisted into a ball. She was terrified and instinctively tried to push him away, but she couldn't. It was as if he had endless power to hold her firmly in place.

She stopped struggling, as if she were a deflated balloon, letting him hold her and comfort her.

"Bite me then, as long as it makes you feel better, as long as you think you've punished me, I'll give you my life."

Jiang Shuya couldn't hear a word he said. She was held by him like a wooden doll, as if she had lost her soul.

The person in his arms did not respond, and Lin Moxiao continued to kiss her hair:

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Hit me, do whatever you want, just don't leave me, don't abandon me. I really, really can't live without you. I love you so much, Xiaoya."

His deep voice, tinged with sobs, pleading, and overflowing with love, kept entering her mind.

Jiang Shuya laughed as if she had lost her mind. She tilted her head back, her face full of mockery. She didn't shed a single tear. She had already cried all her tears for the man in front of her that night, and she wouldn't allow herself to shed tears for him again, nor would she continue to be so pathetic.

She never looked into his eyes, never looked into those eyes filled with guilt, and never caught a glimpse of the pain on his face.

The two pressed together, their hot breaths stirring Lin Moxiao's restless heart. He knew that Jiang Shuya was still angry with him and would not accept any of his apologies. He irritably tugged at his shirt collar and took a deep breath.

He removed both hands from her waist, one hand cupping the back of her head, the other pinching her chin:

"Jiang Shuya, look up at me, look at me, and tell me, you still love me, right?"

Jiang Shuya finally looked him straight in the eye, her gaze filled with unfamiliarity and disgust. She slowly parted her luscious red lips and said, word by word, "I don't love you. I've never loved you."

His disappointing answer caused him only a moment of dejection before his thick eyebrows instantly relaxed.

"I know you're doing this to upset me, aren't you? It's okay, as long as you're by my side, that's enough. Let me love you, I'm willing to. Whatever you want, I'll make it up to you."

"Then I'd rather die than stay by your side." Jiang Shuya's eyes were filled with sternness and disgust, and her tone left no room for negotiation, making Lin Moxiao instantly dizzy.

This time, he finally let go of her, his expression pained.

"Why would you rather die than be with me? Why won't you accept my compensation?"

Seeing that he seemed about to have another attack, Jiang Shuya turned around and fled without a second thought, quickening her pace. She didn't dare to look back at him, afraid that she might soften her heart and fall into an abyss once again.
