Jiang Shuya stared blankly out the window, not wanting to say anything to him. She was filled with mixed emotions and felt maddened by his behavior. She roared at Lin Moxiao.
"Why won't you leave me alone? What have I ever done to wrong you? You've appeared before me time and time again. Haven't you humiliated me enough? What more do you want!"
Lin Moxiao was ignited by her sudden anger, which fueled his pent-up resentment over the past few days.
"Yes, I humiliated you. You abandoned me first and went with him. I retaliated against you, hated you, and took you, all because I loved you. I didn't want to see you with another man. You are my woman now. Do you want to be my wife? We can go get our marriage certificate now, and I'll marry you. Doesn't that give me the right to keep you firmly by my side?"
Jiang Shuya slapped him angrily, causing the IV line in her hand to sway.
"Let me tell you, I don't want to, and I certainly won't, be with someone like you. I don't like you; I only despise you."
Lin Moxiao covered his face with one hand in pain, but didn't lash out. He gritted his teeth, locked the car window, and silently helped her fasten her seatbelt before stepping on the gas and driving away.
After making two turns in Hexi Street, Jiang Shuya arrived at a quiet and upscale residential area. She looked at the road sign and realized she had been there before. The area was surrounded by lush green trees. She parked her car at the foot of a low-rise building.
Lin Moxiao opened the car door and nodded slightly; "Are you getting out by yourself, or do you need me to carry you?"
"No need, I can get down myself."
Lin Moxiao helped her take the IV drip pole from her hand, entered the building, pressed the elevator button, put one hand on her shoulder, and led her inside.
