Jiang Shuya learned from Wang Tingting that Wen Qing would return, and she kept Wen Qing's phone number. She heard that Wen Qing had been studying abroad for a year and would be opening an investment company in China after her return. Jiang Shuya felt that her sister's technology company had hope.
The two met up at a roadside food stall in Hexi that evening and had a meal together. They drank a lot of alcohol, and Jiang Shuya, who couldn't hold her liquor, was already drunk. Wang Tingting drank most of the remaining alcohol.
They talked until very late, until Wang Tingting's boyfriend found the place and took her away. Only then did Jiang Shuya get a clear look at the man's appearance. He was very tall and imposing, but looked a bit silly.
However, Jiang Shuya always felt that he was not young anymore, and should be at least more than ten years older than Wang Tingting. Although there was nothing wrong with an older man marrying a younger woman, she always felt that this older man was not simple and was not so serious about Wang Tingting.
With blurry, drunken eyes, she pointed at their retreating figures: "Heh, Wang Tingting, let me tell you, this man isn't as handsome as Sun Qi. What kind of eyes do you have?!"
After saying that, she buried her face in her arms on the table and cried, muttering to herself, "Jiang Shuya, why are you always so superficial? You're just a fickle, looks-obsessed person, all looks and no substance... hehe."
Inside the Hexi Dream City residence, Lin Moxiao returned home after a long day of work. The house was empty and deserted. He didn't see Jiang Shuya in the room. The note he had left for her that morning was still on the table, but he hadn't brought the magnetic card he had given her. In the kitchen, he saw the chicken soup he had made for her that morning, still there. She must have drunk a bowl of it. The pot lid wasn't even closed.
He hurriedly called her, but no one answered.
At this moment, Jiang Shuya was lying motionless on the table, her face flushed. The phone on the table kept ringing. She frowned, feeling sleepy and increasingly annoyed by his noise. The food stall owner, seeing that she was sleeping and hadn't paid for the drinks, went over and patted her on the shoulder.
"Miss, miss, your family called you, aren't you answering? You haven't paid for your meal yet!"
Jiang Shuya's face was pressed against the table. Her fingers touched her phone but couldn't grasp it. Her eyes were blurry with drunkenness, and she said weakly, "You answer... give me the money."
Lin Moxiao, who was driving, frowned deeply. The phone number she had called was constantly displayed on the large screen. Just then, a male voice answered the phone: "Hello, this is Hexi Food Stall. Your family member is drunk and asleep here. Could you come pick her up? She hasn't paid yet."
Upon hearing this, Lin Moxiao replied: "I'll be there in five minutes."
A short while later, the car stopped by the roadside. Lin Moxiao got out and ran over quickly. When he got closer, Jiang Shuya was lying there with a flushed face. He quickly paid for the meal, picked up the sleeping girl, and carried her to the car.
Seeing her completely drunk, he was somewhat annoyed: "Jiang Shuya, didn't the doctor tell you to rest? Why did you drink so much?"
Jiang Shuya was both amused and exasperated, chuckling twice while her hands continued to flutter.
"I didn't drink much, just a little bit. Wang Tingting says I need to drink more often; she's trained to drink a lot, but I'm terrible at it, she even laughs at me."
Lin Moxiao frowned: "Looks like you've got plenty of free time. Aren't you supposed to be busy? You still have time to drink."
Jiang Shuya shook her head, babbling incoherently, "I know she's heartbroken, but I can't tell her that Sun Qi gave her up because he liked me. That would hurt her even more. That day, Sun Qi told me he'd liked me for a long time, but I was still Huang Minghao's wife then, and he didn't dare to offend me. Now that we're divorced, he feels he has a chance. Tell me, why does he like me? I treat him like a younger brother."
Lin Moxiao felt a surge of jealousy. When they arrived at the entrance of the residential area, he slammed on the brakes, cupped Jiang Shuya's face in his hands, and looked into her dazed eyes.
Tell me, who do you like? Who is the one you love most?
Jiang Shuya chuckled foolishly twice, tears welling up in her eyes:
"The guy I like doesn't want me anymore. He left me standing there in the rain, and I saw him sitting with another girl. They were so happy, like in a fairy tale, a prince and princess, haha."
A seemingly random remark left Lin Moxiao confused, wondering if she might still love her husband, since he had never left her standing in the rain. It turned out she still couldn't let go of that person.
He instantly became angry, shook her arms, and asked again:
Tell me his name, who he is.
Jiang Shuya felt dizzy and irritated, rubbing her head impatiently.
"Stop talking. He doesn't like me, and I don't want him anymore. I'm still living a great life. Sincerity for sincerity, and if it doesn't work, I'll find someone else, hehe."
They say people speak the truth when they're drunk, and her words made Lin Moxiao see her true feelings towards him. Even though her words were hurtful, they made him realize that, as she said, can true feelings really be reciprocated? What did he do wrong? Why did she still like that man?
From the moment Lin Moxiao first saw her husband, she realized he was a pretentious man who cared too much about his image and couldn't distinguish who was truly important to him. She was certain that he only had possessiveness towards Jiang Shuya, not love.
Jiang Shuya was already fast asleep. He carried her all the way to the bedroom, placed her on the bed, and carefully washed her with warm water. He changed her clothes, covered her with a blanket, and checked the time. It was already past one in the morning. After washing up, he lay down beside her, smelling her familiar scent, and held her as they fell asleep.
Since being with her, he has found that his nightmares have become less frequent, the demon has stopped bothering him, and he can now get a full night's sleep every day.
The next morning, Jiang Shuya woke up rubbing her head and found herself trapped in a warm embrace, surrounded by a warm breath. She turned her head and heard Lin Moxiao's even breathing.
She quietly removed his arm, trying to escape from his embrace.
He rolled over, his strong arms firmly gripping her slender waist, and gently massaged her stomach, half-asleep, saying, "Sleep a little longer."
Jiang Shuya insisted on getting up: "I need to use the restroom."
Soon, he stopped talking and finally escaped his grasp. Jiang Shuya quickly washed up, found the clothes she had recently bought in the dressing room, put them on, and was about to open the door when a voice came from behind her.
"Where are you going? Have you had breakfast?"
At this moment, Lin Moxiao calmly walked to the table with breakfast in hand. Jiang Shuya exclaimed in surprise, "That's incredibly fast! You've already cooked the porridge, but these red and green beans couldn't have been cooked that quickly!"
Lin Moxiao looked up: "Wouldn't it be better to agree on a time the night before?"
Cooking is a piece of cake for those who are willing to learn, but for Jiang Shuya, who has no cooking skills, it remains a mystery.
Seeing her engrossed in her food, Lin Moxiao couldn't help but tease her:
"You, who can't even cook, opening several restaurants? Aren't you afraid of being embarrassed if word gets out?"
